I assume, pls correct me if I am wrong, if the eyes are synced to have best mid distances, then near vision and far vision are not perfect, and glasses might be needed for small corrections for near and for far. I was experimenting with this with daily contacts.
Doctor, as a fellow medic contemplating cataract surgery in the foreseeable future -- 61 year old avid reader and home theater junkie with PVD in both eyes, myopic since early adolescence (don't mind glasses), healthy retina, excellent near vision WITHOUT reading glasses and index myopia in both eyes (RE acuity degraded to 6/9 after max correction) -- my question is: what is my ideal procedure at this point? Monofocal IOL (to enhance quality of near/intermediate vision or distant vision)? WHAT EXACTLY IS THE BLENDED VISION YOU MENTION? If I were to go for surgery ONLY for my right eye now, would that mean 'blended vision'? Thanks and regards.
Hello Dr. Hunter. I am having a 1.0 and a 1.5 cataract at this moment. the most frustration thing it is that the sharpness on my eyes it is gone and no matter how much they try to corrected I feel I can not see good. I loved the crisper vision I had when I was using hard contacts. I will love to get as closer to that if possible. I dont know if this will be relevant but I was using bifocal contacts but there is only one maker that I can use and only the monthly once because the way they are made I supposed. This are the Biofinity Multifocal by Cooper Vision. They worked ok until now that does not matter what the sharpenes is gone. my optometrist recommended me to get operated. I would like to see the best as possible for far and near and recover the sharpenes on my vision. I know I can not do mono vision because I tried once for 30 minutes and I had a headache for 3 days after that. I drive a lot at night too. recommended
I have a Symfony lens in my left eye and a synergy lense in my right eye. Is this an example of blended vision? I need a capsulotomy in my right eye as my vision from the right eye is blurry which causes my overall vision to be blurry. I also have epiretinal membrane in my right eye. Will the capsulotomy clear up my blurry vision or will I need to have surgery for the epiretinal membrane as well?
