@@JilesMcCoy I using the Marantz SR6012 Receiver, but I’m going overkill w/my power amps (but then again, I believe we are ALL going overkill 😛) for my Center Channel-Emotiva DR-1 Monoblock, the L&R- Emotiva HC-1 Monoblocks, my Side Surrounds & Back Surrounds- each have the Outlaw 2220 Mono Blocks, so I have a total of 7 Monoblocks, the Front & Rear Heights I’m using the receiver to power them, but I’m going to eventually get additional Monoblocks for them, maybe at the end of the year ⚡️⚡️⚡️
@@JilesMcCoy I’m definitely gonna have to do that for sure, it’s still a work in progress in speaker placement since I do live in an apartment & not a home, it’s waaaay to expensive living in SoCal….my speakers are not the average home theater speakers most people would chose, they are the Martin Logan Motion Series Speakers, my L&R are the Motion 40i’s, Center is the Motion 50XTi, Side Surrounds are the Motion 20i’s, the Front Heights & Back Surrounds are the Motion 30i’s (smaller Motion Center Channel of the Motion Series), I don’t have any Back Heights, still in process of choosing them, most likely gonna get the “bouncy speakers”, the Motion AFX to keep everything Timbre matched…the reason that I began researching Power Amplifier’s was to have clarity & dynamic sound while listening to lower levels since I share 2 walls with 2 neighbors, 1 neighbor on each side, boy have I been HAPPY with the results…..I did go with 2 different suppliers since as of now Emotiva doesn’t provide any Monoblocks that are rated at 200 watts each, however I do know that they are about to drop another BasX Monoblock, which I may purchase by the end of the year, since I still need to purchase 4 more Monoblocks to complete my system 🙃
I have to agree on your love for Acurus components. I have an Acurus A150 power amp supplying the slam in my reference system. Sound reproduction is top notch. Heard nothing but great things about the Muse. Unfortunately, I don't have enough space to justify going to separates in my HT system. My old school Sony AV receiver does just fine in that role. Nice to see Acurus/Aragon getting some much deserved love here.
The rest of the video definitely didn't live up to the 'rock your world' into. But I do agree that separates, in the long run, are the way to go. A few years ago I got a AV processor and have a dogs breakfast of 5 amps of 4 different brands that are fed by it. It is a great system.
ok, I mis read that as 21"... soooo I like the sound of sealed better in general. Thats just personal pref though. 2x 12p vs 1 18 s really cant be answered without all the specifics.
My first AVR is Yamaha which i already forget the model, second one is Marantz Flagship SR7010. Now i use JBL Syhntesis SDP55 with Parasound A51 and A52+. Damn, big improvement in the SQ
If you are only going to do stereo ever then a 2 channel amp makes sense. If you have a multi channel amp available and are making a video it makes sense to use what you have :)
Don’t see a link any where the processor and amp up in your description 🤷♂️ Well damn….. I asked that question before knowing the price of this thing & now I’m like well geez good thing you didn’t list the link 😬
To me, its bizarre that the HDMI is built in. I'm sp tired of having to upgrade my processors just because a new video standard make the processor obsolete. A separate box for video would be much better. But manufactures obviously want customers to have to replace the whole processor - more profit for them. I understand the theory of upgradable HDMI boards, but I've seen companies not come through on promised upgrades. Too bad, as I've owned lots of Acurus and Aragon gear, including their original Act one. But the built in HDMI , and the odd ball Phoenix connectors make it a no go for me. BTW, I highly recommend Blue Jeans cables in Seattle for custom length balanced cables. Not expensive, but better than anything on Amazon. Ask the salesperson (I always work with Andrew) to add colored bands on the plugs so you know which are for right, left or center channels. They can make them with colored jackets, but I prefer the bands, which are very inexpensive but well worth it,
Sloooowly, I’m transitioning to separates, starting with my amplifier’s & already enjoying the clarity & power of a separate amp…thnx for the video!
Sounds like a fun project. What gear are you using?

They are a great group of folks with great gear!
Man those Acurus components rock. Love the aesthetics. I also LOVE the depth of those Starke Sound speaker cabinets. Those speakers are gorgeous.
They worked out just right in this spot. They are being displayed at High End Munich right now too!
@@JilesMcCoy Some awesome photos from Munich on Instagram. Love that you bridged the Acurus. You have got some serious sound there man. Awesome work!
Thanks!

I thought the rest of the video was just superb :) I’ll have some words with the creator though and set him straight.
Nice upgrade Jiles! It makes a big difference in our book :)
Imagine that with the new Aperion theater speakers!
Thank you, Jiles! Great video and great explanation! 👍
Glad you liked it. Can’t wait to get the AspEQt video out!
Great job bro & what do you think would sound better and go down lower a dual 12in ported or a 1 18in sealed sub?

Sounds super cool.
How can we recommend this over a ToneWinner or IOTA with regard to stepping up from a AVR?
I'm a little confused, the fact that you go with a phantom Centre surely it would have been better for you to go with a high end stereo amp.

I'm thinking about switching from the Marantz 8012 to the Muse with x 2 M8's. What are your thoughts?
I say do it 100000%
@@JilesMcCoy - rack day was yesterday calibration today and yes good sir you are correct!
you should make your own XLR cables with Canare or Mogami cable
Great idea!
Emotiva for me
In that brand you have where do you olug in the speakers at
Which model do you use?

Ahhh finally you throw away your onkyo for the good stuff!!! Good for you. Tnat onkyo bankrupcy they were out of the game.
That Onkyo is good. Onkyo AVRs are still here to stay. That was a different Onkyo in Japan. I’m a big fan of the brand.
Wbc makes good cables there on Amazon
I have some of those. They are great. I need like a 6 inch or something.
