playing a game called GOD of war, watching a guy carry trees like they are nothing then watching 2 guys punch each other through mountains and self healing... "is he a god or something" XD
"There's not an ounce of gentleness" actually, compared to how he was in previous games, this Kratos is positively cuddly....and he definitely shows tenderness when handling his wife's body, and grief when gathering her ashes.
i love how, your lack of knowledge about literally everything the game, the lower resolution, and the occasional drop of frame-rate, makes watching this video feel so wholesome. like old school youtube. you made me feel nostalgia even though ive never seen anything from you. im for sure subbing, and want to see your channel grow
Oh! Really? I thought it was pretty obvious that there was grief, Im glad I was able to pick it up then! Its a pretty big part of the story from what I can see
No matter how many times it happens, it is always a special treat to find someone playing this game for the first time. This is far and away my GOAT and I cannot thank you enough for letting me experience it for the first time again vicariously through you. (Unpopular opinion - while I like this game more than Ragnarok, the ending of Rag is the best ending in a game I think ever. And a perfect way to cap off the pair of epics) As I'm sure you have been told, not having the lore of the previous games would not have lessened your enjoyment, but only would have enhanced your appreciation of scenes, which is the perfect way to do a reboot of anything. But no need to sit through them all, just one of the lore dump videos that are floating around would be fine. 7:30 Dropping those super bass chorals with that silhouetted form of Kratos is so gorramned good. It can still give me chills. 41:05 A God of War game typically starts with two things. First is someone dying (and this is the first time it wasn't Kratos!) The second is a hype AF boss fight!
I’m glad you were able to experience it again even if it was through me!! Def something i would want to play for the first time again as well so i fully hear you on it 😭 i did actually watch like a recap lore vid about ep 3/4 into the series cause i was so invested and i needed to know more. Towards the end - i had full context and it just hit. Truly such an amazing game series
I likely won't be going back to play those if I am honest, I am already in Ragnarok now and I watched a recap of his story through a RUclips video somewhere :)
@@trugaming Ah, I see. I personally think the older games are still worth a shot to play anyways since they’re really fun imo. Especially the boss fights. Your choice tho 👍

I’m sure you know by now that Kratos is a god that’s why he can lift trees. There was a series of god of war games a long time ago, sort of connected storywise into Kratos’s history when he was younger. One thing is he had another wife and daughter before Faye and Atreus. They died in an accident I think by something Kratos caused. He burned them and spread their ashes on his face and body. That’s why he looks pale under the red marks. He is distant with Atreus because he’s afraid to get close to him. He’s afraid he’ll lose him and have to go through the sadness of losing his entire family.
Yea I am aware of his full history :D I learned about it after like filming 4 episodes for this game to learn more - its why I am so invested in this series too
@@trugaming Oh sorry I didn’t know you already knew. I only recently played Ragnorok. I have the limited edition pS5 controller. 😊 I want to play the games again but all the surprises are revealed. I love the wolves in the second game, Atreus’s wolves and Hati and Skoll.
kratos is greek, not viking, or from the north :-) if you have never had any contact with god of war before then it is clear that you do not know the background

I think you are one of the few players of this game that picked up on Kratos's grief at the beginning.

Highly recommend you to play the older God of War games. It’ll give you more background to Kratos’ story

The realistic breathing animation/sounds of that deer make that a very uncomfortable scene to watch.
