but i'm not a mechanic.
Just bought my 350z today and found your channel. You talk at a great speed, cover all the important information, and give detailed explanations. Super useful, just subscribed and am going to watch all your videos now!
dude this made my week! thank you so much! got a lot of 350z video coming soon ✊🏽 fixing a lot of common problems. appreciate you man 🔥🔥
Do all your fluids. Engine oil, trans fluid, differential fluid, power steering and brake. Z1 motor sports has all the OEM fluids. I’d especially do oem on trans fluid. I did oem for all. They have kits with exactly how much you need and the crush washers. Very helpful
As a mechanic I like these videos to show the customer it’s not hard to work on cars. It’s the labor and parts that add up. At $125 an hour in most shops starting point you save a lot.
Same on both fronts.
Yes some people work and are too tired for a 20 min job that turns to 3 hours.
Great work and many thanks for sharing. Now I know how to flush my power steering oil without breaking the bank.
yessirrrrr 😂✊🏽
Great video helped me change my fluid for the first time no issues , the latex glove trick definitely came in handy as well
ayyyee the latex glove is useful. people try to do it with one finger to plug the hole and trying to fix something 😂
He said top it off with some more “brake fluid” aha ay good shit thanks for this video. Finna do mine right now. 💯
The irony is that he actually did use brake fluid. That stuff he bought is the wrong stuff. He needed ATF just like the cap says
Great tutorial! BUT nissan/inifinti calls for "ATF" Automatic Transmission Fluid for the power steering! Standard power steering fluid will work but will break down faster and not last as long. Its highly recommended to keep using ATF, I would recommend to reflush the power steering system with OEM nissan or a good quality fluid from AMSoil or valvoline ATF.
Dexron III
I've heard dexron VI
beast
Yeah it's Dexron III ATF for virtually all cars that uses an hydraulic power steering pump.
Consult the vehicle service manual for fluid specifications. Sometimes the fluid specs might be online, but there's no guarantee of accuracy.
The 350z and 370z both take ATF in place for the power steering.
I'm gonna try the fingertip off the glove trick tomorrow, aluminum trick...not so much. 😂 Thanks for the "tip" 👍👊
Finally did this today and this video is the only reason I managed to get it done!
Thanks so much bro
Manual calls for either nissan power steering fluid or dexron 6 atf fluid
Bro! There is WRITING ON THE CAP THAT SAYS USE ATF FOR POWER STEERING! I like your video but what does your steering wheel have to do with the hydraulic power steering!
Back in the day the only difference between power steering fluid and atf was literally red dye😂 not joking. Many differences these days but many American companies take atf still
9:04 keep in mind that some vehicles take Dextron II or III - always check the manual for this type of stuff.
Toyota/Lexus vehicles are known to produce whiny pumps if they have power steering fluid rather than ATF.
This car also takes Dextron, he put in the wrong kind of fluid.
@@A_Money_Automotive yea it says right on the cap, use dexron type ATF. Power steering fluid and ATF are like the same hydraulic fluid tho
11:57 "And top it off with some more brake fluid :)" lol
Video quality is great, your going places thanks for the diy!
means a lot bro ✊🏽🔥thank you
Great video and very detailed to the point, thanks!
how you get rid of thos oil later? autozone does not take them
very good and detailed video man !!! Very much appreciate
✊🏽🔥 means a lot brotha
There’s a new kid in town the new Chrisfix Great video you should change your name to Jake Cande auto tech
bro this is one of the best compliments i’ve gotten “new chrisfix” 😂 i appreciate you man 🔥 thank YOU !!
If I can give you one more advice just keep the contact clean especially what comes out of your mouth because there’s a lot of young audiences out there that are trying to learn and you can be a positive influence on them God bless
And never forget you were called to be a champion if no one ever told you that I’m telling you you are a champion of the Lord
What did he say
i said you’re awesome king ! don’t forget it
@@JakeCande Thank you 👍
4:30 - bro all kinds of tools in this video! 😂
Just so you know Nissan OEM power steering fluid is red.
So don't just go by color it doesn't mean anything
The reason why it took so many turns to flush the line is because ATF dyes other oils easily. In other words to purge a hydraulic oil to ATF would only take a few turns to get it in the line. To go from ATF to a hydraulic oil will take at least five times as many turns hence why so much power steering was wasted in this video.
you are wrong. it takes more than one flush to fully get all the contaminates out the old powers steering. i even show the color changes in the fluid so you can see when to stop. that’s why i talk for a minute why it’s important to use a clear container so you can maintain a visual when to stop.
@@JakeCande yes It takes more than one turn what I'm saying is just because the oil still looks red doesn't mean it's not nearly full hydraulic
@@neuvatierra4324 bro used wrong fluid. He'll get it sooner or later.
Can you it again I did not understand
fyi for everyone ATF fluid is what Nissan calls for. says it in your manual and calls for dexron on the cap.
My 2013 altima manual recommends E-PSF not ATF.. it actually say don't use ATF lol
@@glo2fkxi have a 03 350z i doubt our pump and rack are the same
Just get $10 vacuum pump and suction the fluid. Less mess less fuss
Helful video brother... thanks
atf does work the same as power steering goofball
Beast 🤘🏼
100% keep these coming
Teaching Talent 👍
shheeesshhh this made my day ✊🏽 appreciate you
Great video! But bro you better go out there right now and flush out all that fluid you put in there. That's definitely not the right fluid. I know you tried to do the right thing and bought the one that said Asian but prestone being racist trying to mess up are reliable cars. The cap on the reservoir clearly says what you need. Also like you said read your owners manual. The fluid this car needs is a type of transmission fluid which is red. So please flush out that out because he's corrosive just like brake fluid.. Wait that was brake fluid just with a different label. For real good video thou! I usually just drain and fill the reservoir but I'm gonna do this next time
So at the end how many bottles did you use 9?
Because you said you finished in your 6th bottle but then you still had to fill it uo
Up
used 5 bottles total
No
09 lex 460 power steering located at
no tools?
Only pliers...lol😹😹
😭😭😭
Those are wanna be gtr cars 😂
I'm lazy, I empty and refill the reservoir than drive around and repeat.
350Zs take Dexcron II (the red stuff)!!!! You will ruin your pump! Wonder why it was reddish fluid coming out?! Because it’s Dexcron. Says right on the cap too if you don’t believe me
Why didn’t you suck out the power steering fluid from the reservoir first duh?
That looks like the wrong fluid brother
Just a question, can you use ATF for power steering? My car calls for Dexron III ATF on cap but it was filled with regular power steering fluid.
If it calls for Dex 3, use Dex 3. Regular power steering fluid and transmission fluid are not interchangeable.
Jake did you go to mechanic school? You did a great job thanks for the info the RiverCityPlayer!!
Nissan and z uses transmission fluid as ps fluid
Yup! He got the wrong fluid in that bad boy. The video was great thou definitely going to this next time
Infiniti OM recommends atf dexron iv as an alternative (either or)
Quick dumb question but trans fluid for the z won’t work for power steering fluid?
Atf works fine bruh
Bro this was fr the most informative video I have seen in a while. You made it so easy to understand. Thanks🙏🙏
This was very informative and funny, I liked the energy!
Hi Jake, excellent video and thanks for taking the time to make it. Great Job. 👍
Good work. Although around 11:55-12:00 you said top it off with Brake Fluid. Lol.
😂😂good catch
Why not flush it with water instead of using good power steering to just waste?
W ass video straight to the point and great energy good shit brotha keep it up
Using transmission fluid is 100% okay. Read the cap on the reservoir.
Bro, this shit was solid. Very clear and concise, and well thought out. Good shit man!
So don't start the car when you turn the steering wheel right to left to get all the fluid out?
8:54 bruh it was from the factory not from a mechanic
lmao
11:56 "and top it off with some more brake fluid!"
me: uhh wait what?!
great video tho!
😂✊🏽
I’m not gunna lie you got a great format homie ! And you’re hilarious!!
Great work. Entertaining too.
What’s the ideal temperature for the power steering fluid while the engine is running?
Great job….enjoyed watching the whole video!!
Please continue doing such videos ….love from india 🇮🇳
ayyeee thank you man !! means a lot ✊🏽🔥 love from cali
Subbed. Like your presentation and whole vibe. Blessed
ayyyyeee thank you bro that means a lot to me fr ! thank you
This is by far the best explanation for flushing power steering fluid on a 350z and a G35! I have a G35 that needs a power steering flush, I'm going to find a tube to connect to the return line to help drain(only because I work in a parts dept and have access to such things!)
appreciate man ✊🏽 hope everything turn out well for you brotha
Great video - Thanks! I've got to do this to my '06 G35 coupe, and this has all the info I need to get the job done.
😂 very funny entertaining informative mechanic video I have ever seen ...your funny bro keep making videos like this
great video man. Reminds me of chrisfix haha
Bro really be making it work haha
Thank you for this, it helped us alot!❤😊
Thanks for the video man. I have a 7th gen max and its a bit hard to turn now. I don't see any leaks so I'll try this and hope it makes it smooth again.
That the cheapest way to do things.. but works
Does work for the 2015 q50 premium 3.7 ?
That's what I would do
Thank you so much !
Lol. look bruh
Good video
I believe that the oem power steering fluid from Nissan is also red.
yeah you could be right ✊🏽 never seen oem fluid before
The power steering fluid I bought from Nissan was purple.
@@JakeCande yeah bro wrong fluid flush that out ASAP
Solid!
I'M Hard headed as f!@#
I am DETERMINED to fix my baby
So if I have to REPLAY your video 20 times until I FIX him your cute ass is going to be on REPEAT 🤓
P.s
Hopefully less than 20xs cause
Dammmm lol
I consider a jack a tool.. I don’t have.🥲
