    Schnittke surely one of the most inventive composers of classic music in all styles: marvellous both in terms of originality and quality.

    I recently discovered Schnittke, and if I could say his chaotic emotions that he describes in his music would enhance any art. If he lived during our century, he would've made great game soundtracks for any kind of game: horror, dark souls, metroidvania, rpg, basically anything with a complex story and interesting characters.

    A shame that Schnittke is so often "forgotten" ... especially by the so-called grand classic orchestras! WHY IS THAT?

      He had a very hard life as far as I can tell. You can hear it in the music. There's never been anybody quite like him.

      Yes, I know, very sad. Amazing music and a wonderful man.

      Another composer who looked very sad and had a very difficult life was Shostakovich and you could hear it in his symphonies and other music, he was very introverted but had courage to stand up to the system with his music and fool the dictator. .In many ways this piece reminds me of Shostakovich, a parody of Soviet life, pseudo happiness under a dark cloud.

      paul w You are way to harsh against Dimitri. I wonder just how you would have handled his situation if you had been in his shoes? I wonder...?

      Schinttke was IMHO the greatest spiritual genius, EVER, His understandings of earth/spirit world surpasses anything I've come across. Schnittke saw the past, present /future He felt all the slorrows of mankind and how ruzzia committed untold genocides. Besides his great great great personal sufferings. His music will be relevant ina trillion years from now. His music is eterna;

    Spannende und wunderschöne Interpretation dieses kompakten und ein bisschen parodischen Meisterwerks mit durchsichtigen Stimmen des ausgezeichneten Chors und gut artikulierten Töne aller Instrumente. Alle Soloinstrumente klingen echt schön und melodisch. Der geniale Maestro dirigiert das ausgezeichnete Orchester im gut phrasierten Tempo mit völlig effektiver Dynamik. Der unvergleichliche Komponist soll viel häufiger angehört und viel höher geschätzt werden!
