Wow ...... I read your comment, then that came up in the video for me a couple minutes later.
That is an awesome anecdote/concept. I have taught math at a university for over ten years now, mostly freshmen, and it makes me want to share that part of the video with them bc so many of them turn in half-ass work whereas I was raised to always do my best in my work and it always frustrates me that they don't gaf about how they approach their courses. And I feel like at the college level, they need to take pride in doing college-level work.
But as Will is describing, it can and should apply to any aspect of your life too! Love it and i need to still remind myself of it too.

Now I am graduating college next Saturday with tons of friends a great physique and despite my fraternity and everything I have hit the gym every day hungover or not and ate healthy and balanced and now I am graduating with a 4.0 tons of friends and an amazing physique. Would they have attributed to his fame, and income, or hard work? *"Ya well if I had a youtube channel with millions of followers I could afford the best coach, food and could dedicate myself to this.. I know I will never be part of the body building community. But I wanted to thank you for giving me the courage to change my life. I was 675 lbs. I was very sick and nearly dead. I have just reached 300 lbs. which is over half my body weight, I used the gym, diet with a licensed dietician, and therapy. You showed me in this journey of yours that you are never too late. I am saddened that people accuse you of steroids, like they do me with Ozempic and other shots. I lost weight the natural and hard AF way... you inspired me as a subscriber for my journey to get back into that gym and get healthy. It is what my mom would want for me (she died of brain cancer 5/24/24). Congratulations on your win and pro-status. If I don't take care of me, I can't take care of those I love and be here long term. I made a change and stopped with the excuses of being tired, or drained from work. Hardest part, is just getting out there, taking those first steps and moving on.
Today, I'm down to 245, all my labs are WAY better and I'm feeling much better. Being older, I'm going for losing mass and just making sure my body is moving to keep it in shape.

After dealing with my thyroid going hypo and getting that in check, followed by my father’s unexpected passing and having to be there for my widowed mother. It’s not easy but you my friend have inspired me with ALL your heart felt videos. ESPECIALLY this one. Hey Will, I just found you a couple months ago. I’m a 28 year old woman and a recovering alcoholic/addict. I’m not new to fitness or lifting, a couple years ago I was in the best shape of my life and then I started drinking heavily again and threw it all away. It only took a year and a half before I had gained 50lbs, my liver stopped functioning properly, my hair was falling out and I knew I was going to die. I stopped drinking in December and put all of that energy back into my health/fitness. I’m a week away from 5 months sober, I dropped almost 35lbs and I’m building muscle quicker than ever before. You’re the most inspiring person I’ve come across in this industry, thanks for that. Your videos have helped me hone in my diet, my form and my workout plan.

I was in the same situation, I always used to be very active and I worked out a lot, until I started drinking and I gained around 50lbs as well, my hair started falling out also. I just want to say that this is one of the best things to do right now, working out, lifting weights has changed my life for the better. Not even in the way I look, but the way I feel about myself. It has created discipline and for the first time in a long time I am able to wear clothes that I like, not because they cover up my body. I am a little over 2 years sober and the thing that has changed my self worth is taking care of myself again. I genuinely wish you the best, I'll keep you in my prayers tonight, stay strong, we have a long way to go but in time we'll get there. You are amazing for getting sober and getting your health back.

I don't know how Will did not deserve the win. He absolutely did. If I were to take an objective standpoint, even if I didn't know who Will was, I'd still think he looked the best out there. I agree with him that his upper body was his saving grace. While his poses were a little awkward and his 'legs weren't as defined or sustaining the contraction, considering it's his first bodybuilding competition, he crushed it.
Not just that, no one by a 'long shot has shown this level of depth, detail and transparency Will has in how a bodybuilding competition is like. Will managed to avoid glorifying it like so many influencers out there, and yet elevate it to an even more impressive range of awareness for us fans and budding fitness enthusiasts.
Cheers, Will. You 'completely and unquestionably deserve this.

Hey Will, congratulations, I know I’m not exactly your target demographic - I’m 44, and I’ve been on and off with the gym for years - but I’ve finally locked in my training and just hit my 27th consecutive session without a break. Your content has been a huge part of that.
I’m not aiming to be a bodybuilder, but seeing your consistency, discipline, and approach to the gym has really inspired me to push for a better version of myself. Watching you smash your goals and keep a positive mindset is a reminder that it’s never too late to chase those gains.
