Remember being a HUGE Barker fan and was actually reading Books Of Blood upstairs in my bedroom (Halloween night) and wandered downstairs and saw my favorite author on tv! Was gutted at the time missed the first part, now, 18 years later, I get to see the whole interview. Thank you SOOO much for uploading this.

This is a terrific hidden gem. It's strange, watching interviews with Clive and other horror creators from this era: people appear to have a real problem with the idea that horror writers, and fans, can be nice, good-natured people. I don't think you'd have this mindset now. People like Clive, Stephen King, James Herbert, John Carpenter, Wes Craven, and more all seem really nice.

What a treat! James Herbert AND Clive Barker. Herbert's books are my essential bedtime listening, The Rats trilogy, The Fog, Nobody True, Once. I thought Barker's first book boring, but, years later he redeemed himself with Night Breed which was turned into a great 80's movie and a well-narrated audio-book.

Something I’ve always found among horror fans and artists: they are bound by rational and scientific process thinking. So many of them don’t believe in ghosts or the possibility of supernatural phenomena yet write it because it’s an entertaining mythos that allows for the folly, hubris, and certainty of the living to be questioned, judged, and executed with graphic simplicity.

Dude, as a gay man myself, Clive was SUCH a stunner back then, lol. His voice and appearance and how he carried himself, just attractive all around. And even to this day I still think he’s a handsome man, even if he’s far older than me, lol. Anyways, it’s pretty cool to see both of these authors chatting and being interviewed, both of them being very influential horror authors from the UK, and I’ve personally read and enjoyed both of them!

Yet when they went to check on him through the night he had escaped ! The headlines in the newspaper next day read ! " SMALL MEDIUM AT LARGE " ! 🤣

Mediums annoy me. I was dragged to a psychic night before covid and she kept telling me she had a message from Mary, my dad's mum. It was in Scotland where everyone's Nan was called Mary or Margaret. Told me some rubbish about how she was watching over me and my little girls.
My paternal grandmother was called Dorothea. I don't have any daughters.

Was an actual cause of death ever '' officially " announced for James Herbert? As I understand it, he had been writing all morning, without a break, then went to his bedroom to have a lye down and just never woke up. His good lady wife found him dead in bed or on the bed. 😕

I want to tell you a vision that happened to me. It started with walking through a turnstile into a football stadium. The stands were empty, and so was the field. In front of me were millions of people, and behind me were millions of people and we were walking on what appeared to be a road.
Then I am in a small room with tiny windows, All there is in this room, is a chaise long, with a very dour woman in black. She has a cane, which she bangs on the floor, and a tiny mouth opens up on the floor. This has very sharp teeth, with more and more rows of sharp teeth. She tells me that everybody has to go into hell. I decide to go back to Earth
. Suddenly, I am in a flat that is apparently mine, although I don't recognise it. It has a dark wood floor, a wide square concrete pillar on one side which is painted the same mid yellow as the three seater corner sofa left of the pillar.
When I left, there had been a tabby cat and a small white and tan short haired terrier, but they were not mine. I was pet sitting for a good friend who was on holiday. These animals were not in the flat, but my Father was. I asked him where the animals were, and he told me my friend had collected them. He told me he thought they were very nice people, but he didn't get to talk to them much as he had to arrange my funeral and had a lot of things to arrange.
.The next moment, I am on a tram with my Father, and we're chatting. Suddenly I realise that this is not going to last. I will fade, and he will not be able to talk to me or see me, and I will not be able to talk to him or see him.
I will end up in that room, and my only options then, will be either to stay with the dour woman or go into the hell mouth.
Suddenly, I am in hell. Imagine a train tunnel. In this tunnel is a lot of individual fires of different colours.
I know the first is red, the second blue, the third green, the fourth purple, then there is white, black and finally a big yellow fire. In between the fires is a space to walk to the next fire. I am completely alone and the fires don't hurt.
All they do is remove, in perpetuity, all the baggage. All the fears, the worries, the petty irritations and annoyances, all the hopes and dreams and disappointments, everything. You look the same, but you are purified. Once you complete the last yellow fire, you are in heaven.
There is no time in heaven. You can communicate with anyone in heaven, because they have all been through the same process.
If you decide to come back to Earth, you have two decisions to make. The family in which you wish to be born and the age and method of your death.
When you come back to Earth, you are not allowed to take your decision about your death with you. You are born into the family you chose and you will learn new lessons during your time.
But because there is no time in heaven, you might come back a thousand years in the future. You might be a billionaire. You might be a drug addicted prostitute, But you will learn new and important lessons regardless.
When you die, you go through the same process again. You could stay in heaven and not bother coming back to Earth.
You do get to see your pets and any one who died that you want to see. You can do whatever you want in heaven, it is beautiful.
But you never get to see God. There is no God there, like there is no Devil in hell. These are man made constructs.
I got the impression that Earth is one dimension, Hell is another, and Heaven is yet another. These all exist and have nothing to do with deities of any kind. They just are. As you go through different lives, you may eventually be able to contact those in heaven, how ever minimally. These are known as mediums.
Sorry this is so long. But I know what I saw was real and thought I would pass it on. I should point out that I have never taken any drugs of any kind and I have never been a drinker. This was a very real and vivid vision and I have never forgotten it .It removed any fears I ever had of death.
