- This is my first-time reaction to Ren's Money Game Pt. 1. This is song #4 on my Ren Journey. Thank you for joining me! This is one of the most provocative pieces of art I have ever seen!
Probably one of the most intelligent and accurate interpretation of this video..wow..
Definitely. I think he's only done a few Ren videos but he's pretty spot on every time.
Yes 👍
Bang on the money😂
Perfect! Love your Ren reviews so much.
Couldn't agree more
I must say your reaction/interpretation of Money Game pt 1 is brilliant. The last time a reactor had such great insight into this performance piece is Knox Hill & I highly recommend you check it out as well. As for Money Game part 2, be careful NOT to react to the live version, because it was an unfinished, abbreviated, accapella version that Ren was testing out. The full version is the official lyric version on his YT page. Money game part 3; which Ren claims, is the best live, one take music video he's ever done and he's very proud of the resulting product. Money Game part 3 is only a few weeks away from release and I'm looking forward to seeing it and hearing your reaction. Cheers my friend..
Well done. This is the kind of reactions people really want to see.
I'm almost embarrassed that, while I got most of the meaning behind this song in separate pieces, I still had not gained a complete understanding of it - even after many many views/listens.
Your breakdown was like you had drawn eyes onto me, allowing me to finally see it for what it is in its entirety.
That was wonderful. Thank you.
Same here. And I really appreciate it.
I have the same response to this reaction. I had a general idea of the meaning, but, this sharpened it and made me appreciate the message and Ren’s creativity even more.
Same here. Some of the comments to this video have also helped me understand MG1 better. Now that I have that understanding, I look forward to MG3 even more! 😊
I thought I was already subbed, but now I am. That was the best description I have heard just like all your other reactions. Wow. Ren is very intelligent, and having those musical genetics makes him special. He is humble and honestly doesn't care about money, he wants to create music and art. As you can imagine he has been flooded by record labels and Ren has told them all "no thanks". The one label he said wanted him to cut up "Hi Ren, shorten it down to like 3 min., write and put some hooks in it and make it radio ready. That one he told them " hell no". That is his masterpiece. He has said there is nothing they can offer him because he can do it all, he needs nothing from them. Sure more money could help but he has been putting out great videos for $1000-$1500. Shoe string budget. He will just put the money he earns back into his art. The industry couldn't fathom doing anything that cheap.
I honestly think you are the only one to get this the first time. Your interpretation of the ending was phenomenal. I did not really get it--opening the eyes of the victim, realizing the game and fighting back. But then the idea that hte perpetrator figures the jig is up and decides to self imolate. Reminds me of modern U.S. politics right now. However, I do not see a lot of self imolation. What I see are people selling out to moneyed interestes and being replaced by new individuals in the game. There is a cycle to all this. Disturbing. Wait till you see Money Game II. Make sure to watch the oficial video first then the acapella version next if you so choose.
Ren would be so impressed with your reactions. I believe you have deconstructed Ren's intentions perfectly in all 4 videos.
One thing I see a lot of people miss is that the guitar is the object the captive uses to block their demise. Once their eyes are open, music and art are the weapons of resistance.
But I agree. Absolutely fantastic break down. Bravo.
I like that observation about music & art but would add that there is a paradox about protest coming from within the big corporate music industry! This is another reason why Ren being independent is so appealing.
Yes, very well said! The captor even takes his guitar away and puts it on the ground in order to "attack" him.
@@cyclops60 I grew up in the 1960's and '70's, and was into a lot of the protest music of the time. Then it dawned on me that corporations were the ones backing the "protest singers," in large part to cash in on them. The irony hadn't hit me until much later. So Ren being and staying independent really has my attention.
@@ClearTheRubble7 I'm from that era as well and have always been drawn to protest music for all the good that it's done sadly!
I’m blind but I’ve heard this video and reactions many times. No one has ever said that he raised the guitar. It totally brings more understanding and depth just from that alone. I agree with you. Music and art.
Welcome to the money game! There is a competition Ren has just launched in the lead up to money game 3, looks like it will be a fun interactive collaboration
I've watched money game 1 more than a few times, but never did more than scratch the surface. Your ability to clarify, distill, and interpret has made Ren's piece all the more powerful for me. Subscribed!
I’ve watched a zillion Ren reactions but this is the best one on Money Game 1. You really analyzed it so well and helped me finally understand it in a way that i wanted to.
New sub here, I'm here for any and all Ren reactions. As a 53 year old music lover my whole life, Ren has reconfigured my mind for the better and REN-EWED my heart & soul by making me really hear music for the 1st time in my life! Great reaction and fantastic analysis/breakdown! 😊
I'm 63 and Ren has re-awoken my interest in new music. I stumbled on him after getting into reaction videos of young folks discovering my old favourites! Ren seems to appeal to all ages which is unusual and really positive.
Great interpretation of Ren's extraordinary ability to use his art to not only make us look in the mirror, but to question ourselves and the forces that steer us in their desired direction through politics and large corporations.
Congratulations sir, most reactors don't understand this video.
Greetings from Germany 🤝👏👍
You are the first reactor that I’ve seen that caught the end.. where the captive resists REN. It’s refreshing to see someone take the time, intellect, and common sense to properly break down his work.
Most reactors are an inch deep and the message’s go right over their head and they are on to the next trending video…
Thank you for the great reaction!
In my opinion this is Rens most important song, but it's a heavy concept for alot of people. So in part 2 i feel he changes the angle to impact more people by using the individuals perspective to the game. Part 3 is eagerly anticipated. Excellent reaction/analysis and subbed..
I love this reaction you've done for Ren's Money Game. You really help me understand the song in a much deeper way. Thank you!
thank you for reacting and going down the Ren rabbit hole I am 63 years old and have followed Ren for years he is my favourite artist of all time, I love your reactions and breakdown sending big love from the UK ❤❤❤
Thank you, Peter! I'm about your age and live in Canada. Glad to know that there are like-minded people across the pond. Cheers!
I am always a bit envious of people who discovered Ren yrs ago . I can only imagine your frustration and wonderment at how come he was not more well known - And now the secret is out and the whole world is amazed . ❤ from Canada
This was a great breakdown, probably one of the best I’ve seen. I’m looking forward to your reaction of Pt 2.
This has been the best analysis I've seen so far.
Until earlier this year, I've never seen, or heard, an artist like Ren. The way he uses the music, beats and his voice to create such vivid scenes in a person's mind is absolutely, second to none.
I've always loved good music, and I love all genres of music, especially if that music either tells a good story, or can trigger my emotions. Big bonus points if the story is relevant, relatable, or inspirational/motivational. Ren has been ticking all of those boxes... every.... freaking..... time.
After listening to "Hi Ren", a number of months ago, it seems like there hasn't been a day where I haven't listened to something he's done.
The Big Push, the band he played and busked with in Brighton, are a combination of artists who make me think of Cream, Traffic, Queen, and Jethro Tull. They really do sound like one of the "supergroups" from back in the day.... maybe even better!
Seriously, I'm on the verge of writing an entire essay on the importance and impactful relevance of Ren's artistry. ... But I won't do that here... LOL I probably sound like some kind obsessed weirdo already. hahaha
This man is something special.
Money Game, part two, really breaks things down to another level...
I'm so glad I've subscribed to your channel. I appreciate the thought and analysis you put into your reactions. (possibly because they are similar to my own. lol)
Cheers!
I'm loving watching you discover more Ren. I had a different interpretation of the video, I felt that the hooded victim is the politicians/bankers etc. and Ren wants to punish them for the money game, but realises that he is also part of the money game and punishes himself instead. I think the eyes being drawn on the hood, were Ren trying to make them see what they are doing, but when he see's their eyes it personalises them so he cant do it and realises he is also to blame. This was a single take live performance, the camera work and the planning is exceptional. I cant wait to see you react to Money game Part 2... When you do react to Money game part 2, go for the official lyric video, not the acoustic version because the acoustic version is much shorter... The acoustic version is still great, but it is just spoken word live on a beach with no musical accompaniment, and it is only the second part of the song.. Ren is a gift...
Thank you for your reactions to Ren's music. My favorite bard ; his music and storytelling are just genius as well as intelligent and insightful.
I knew you would do an awesome in depth analysis and you did not disappoint! I came to an entirely different conclusion, but I very much enjoyed your interpretation! The way I saw it was that REN is someone angry at the money game and he has taken a hostage, maybe a bank manager, or a stock exchange seller, or some other person that symbolized the evil and small mindedness of one who worships money. But when it comes to him taking his vengeance on this representative of the evils of money his own words come back to him. That we are all part of the game, and if he kills his hostage he is STILL only playing into that game. That there was only one way he could truly protest against it, and that was to take himself out of the game entirely. I think that he chose fire, instead of say a hanging rope which is very much a trope ren uses for suicide. Using fire shows that he is not giving up and committing suicide, but is instead making a very profound protest of resistance, hearkening hack to the Buddhist monks protests of the 60’s. It’s meant to shock people, wake them up. That was my take…but money game 2 is even better, so don’t keep us waiting too long!
In the language of pictures, do you by any chance remember the Buddhist monk who set himself on fire?
@@mellanapa - I didn’t off hand but I googled it for you. There have been over 160 Buddhist monks and nuns who have set themselves on fire in protest of various atrocities as of May 2022. That said, the specific burning monk was named Thich Quang Duc. He is the most famous, and the image of his public suicide is iconic. He burned himself in protest of the Vietnam War in Saigon on June 11, 1963. His picture was used as the cover of Rage against the Machine, and REN is clearly a fan of their music.
@@whimsysmith2835 I'm sorry I couldn't see your comment in full until now. I could only read as far as to "...which is very much a trope Ren uses for suicide.", hence my comment. Your comment in it's whole or not - I did not mean to offend you or your take on this song and video.
Thank you for posting more info about the - to many people - disturbing picture of Duc. I think most adults in the west have seen it during their life, but it's rare (to me at least) to stumble upon someone else who actually knows about him and why he did what he did. And thanks for not trying to rip my head off because my phone botched your comment for me! 😺
@@mellanapa - my goodness, no apologies needed, I didn’t notice anything insulting or botched about your question! In fact your response made me quite happy- it gave me a chance to geek out on some esoteric trivia a little bit. Feel free to reply to me any time. I try to live up to my moniker and be a weaver of whimsical words- not vicious vindictive or otherwise vile. That kind of alliteration just ain’t my style.
@@whimsysmith2835 that's refreshing! 🖤 I usually get my head chewed off just by having the audacity to have an opinion on anything, but because of an allergy to nickel I can't go around wearing my knights armour all the time. Maybe I'll even relax enough around you to ask something sometimes?! 😹

Very insightful as always, I'm really enjoying your reactions to Ren's deeper work, fun fact, Ren mentioned on interview that this is a one take video that took around 160 goes to get right. It would be logical to do Money Game Part 2 next, make sure you do the lyric video version, his live version is the one and only time that the live version is not as good as the studio version. Looking forward to it.
If you do part 2, the best version is the lyric video.
Agreed
Thirded, especially as it’s the only complete version. The lives are just snippets.
Yes, please, do the lyrics video! Maybe watch the live another time, the lyrics video includes video clips that indicate where the story moves along and enhances the words. Great job!
Quad? Haha
Wow!!! Your insight amazing. Thank you for another great reaction.
Loving your reactions to Ren’s versatile, eloquent, and genuine creations! ❤
Wowsers
It's like you were in Ren's head🤯
THANK YOU for explaining the end! Absolutely brilliant breakdown. Please do his incredible duets with Chinchilla, CHALK OUTLINES (LIVE), and HOW TO BE ME (LIVE), which references a great loss he experienced. Then his song SU!C!DE goes into this loss in great detail. Can't wait to see you tackle these.
And if you want just a fun one, do THE HUNGER! You'll need the lyrics handy tho.
Very nicely done. I feel I picked out most of the individual concepts Ren was making, but you tied it together in a way that made it even more profound. Hoping you do part 2 soon. Part 3 drops Oct 12th. Ren says he's as proud of part three as he is of Hi Ren. Big shoes to fill. :) Subscribed!!!
I've watched countless ren reactions now, but I think yours are the most informed, interesting and insightful commentaries I have come across. Absolutely fantastic. I think you would appreciate watching "crutch" featuring bibi (his girlfriend at the time who helped raise a lot of funds for his treatment). Also "how to be me (live) " and "chalk outlines (live)" both featuring chinchilla.
Again, the most intelligent reaction ever seen for this and every other piece of Ren’s art. Thank you.
Excellent analysis... another Ren masterpiece expertly unpacked. Thank you for posting.
Awesome!!!
This is becoming a highlight to my week. Your analysis is always so intelligent and spot on with the way I perceive the content. I've watched a lot of other reactions that get stumped hard on this one and you just breezed right through. Excellent work! Saw a comment about the immigration part and how you skipped by it. I'll be honest before watching this my thought on immigration was very staunch. Being a native of Arizona and seeing the toll it takes on our state you realize it's a big problem but after watching this I've opened my stance on it a bit. It's a double edged sword. It's not good for the way of life I'm accustomed too but there is also large groups of people that are displaced and living a much tougher life than me and looking for a way out. Essentially this is my part in the money game. I've grown up in a world where the peramiters have all been set by the money game and I have been confined within it. The powers that be have separated us and divided us and set up borders all around us. How do I and all of us break these chains and somehow salvage the good points of our current way of living. Admittedly its beyond me but this video and song have at least opened me up and made me more aware of it so I dont slip and further. Anyway keep up the great work, as others mentioned part 2 do the lyric video and after I'd love to see your interpretation of Crutch by Ren ft. Bibi. Thanks again!
The problem with illegal immigration is that while we may feel sympathy on a human level, the reality is that we can have a nation state with advanced social programs, or we can have an open society with open borders, but it's impossible to have both.
@Sin-us1dh
This is an excellent start in my humble opinion: stop, listen, think again, re-think, revaluate if needed (which it almost always thee case for all of us), and keep your mind open for different solutions, different angles of how to view the world, and you're on the right way. It takes some guts to admitting that you might have been stuck in a loop created by your own mind, and upon that admitting it to yourself! 🖤
This is the best most in depth analysis/reaction of Ren's money game I've seen so far. Thanks for helping me understand what he is saying to us. I look forward to your reaction to part 2 and then next month part 3!
The word 'mortgage' comes from Old French, meaning 'death pledge' or 'death contract'. A loan till you die. Hmmm. Makes you think. Love your Ren journey brother.
Yes, this name says it all. Thanks!
Oh Matt! You picked a good time for this. He just announced an actual game to go with the release of Money Game 3. This week is gonna be cool.
You always have the best reactions. I look forward to seeing you discover even more.
Great reaction and interpretation. The best breakdown I’ve seen so far. 👍
Ren is doing a service to us all by opening a lot of eyes through his incredible art.
Well said! And thank you!
This channel breaks down these complicated pieces by Ren like no other, the best reactor to Ren in terms of intelligent and accurate interpretation. Impressive.
Ren noted that for "Money Game 3" (out on 13 Oct) he was having trouble finding an affordable seedy warehouse for filming . 😉 Thanks for your thoughtful, eloquent breakdown of this video.
Very incisive reaction! I get so much joy from seeing others appreciate Ren's genius - thanks for sharing your Ren journey with us!
My friend let me tell you, this is the first time I listen to this interpretation, it's so different and so interesting as well. Great job!! 🤘🏼🎶
Thanks so much for doing this reaction. You brought to light so much in this video that i instinctively felt but couldn't articulate.
I was looking forward to your take on this and you didn't disappoint! I envy your speed of thought and ability to express yourself so eloquently. I've really struggled to get my head round this but having just read the lyrics it seems to me like the first part is about how money has been corrupted from it's original use and how we are all conditioned to be pawns in the game where money is the main driving force in our lives. The second part is how easy it is to get people to turn against each other by exaggerating our differences rather than seeing how similar we are. This diverts attention away from those running and profiting from the 'money game'. I'm still not totally clear on the symbolism of the characters. I see your point about the captive and captor but I think Ren also acts as a narrator, explaining the 'money game'. The quality and diversity of his work is just captivating. Look forward to you doing 'Money Game Part 2', the lyric version is the full length one , the live version is just the second part but beautifully filmed and performed so worth a look too!
Legitimately the most insightful review I have seen of this song, hands down! Well done. I'm hoping for part 2 in the near future.
This is the second time I have seen you react to Ren. First to the tale of Jenny and Screech I commented that to me you nailed it. Now Money Game part one,,,,, I don't know your vocation BUT,,,,once again you clearly grasped and explained to the masses the ongoing need for power these people have,,,,and with it being exposed eliminates them and our percieved NEED for them.
I agree with your analysis ..... except i came up with the opposite character representation. The captive was ftom the money game elite playing the tune we all dance to. Ren was the people wanting to destroy the system. He keeps explaining all the fallacies. But can't finish the job. Once the captive has eyes,Ren turns the mirror on himself and realizes he is part of the game and takes himself out in protest
The image that came to my mind was the Buddhist monk during the Vietnam war that immolated himself in protest to what was happening.
Probably both of our views would be valid .
I also had this character representation in my head. Either way I can see how both work.
Thanks for this, I have really struggled to understand the imagery but this makes a lot of sense. This is another thing I like about Ren - he makes you think and question your own motivations.
@@Alloya Some of us are older than others! HA!
BTB - your evaluations as perfect - they are so deeply set into why Ren wrote these things and delivered them through music which is a fantastic thought provoking medium as most people open their minds when they are in music mode - he has come to us today in Art form to help awaken as many people as possible to what is happening in front of our eyes
Outstanding interpretation, Matt. I have to agree with so many of the other comments, you are one of the best at this. You helped locate a couple of things that I missed. Keep up the great work! Can't wait for your reaction/interpretation to MG2. ✌
The only person/reactor who's recognised/identified the meaning of the drawing of eyes!! Ive listened many times but have not appreciated it as much... thanks BTB 😊
Very impressive reaction to money game 1. Ren watches reactors, hopefully he sees your reaction.I truly think he would agree your one of the best and most accurate on you tube.
I hope so too

Outstanding breakdown. Thank you.
Loving your detailed breakdowns of Ren’s music and videos.
Really excellent commentary. Thank you for supporting Ren’s incredible artistry. 💯 agree that he is amazing… I can’t wait to see your reaction to Money Game 2. And of course the RENegades are in a frenzy for Money Game 3 to drop! If you are looking for more Ren songs along the same theme, check out “Crucify Your Culture.” 💔❤️🩹❤️
Thank you! And thanks for the recommendations.
Fantastic analysis. The best I've seen.
Love your reactions mate. 👍 keep the Ren vids comin
What a reaction! REN’s artistry tends to be layered in his pieces, so this reaction is a great guide. It’s one that I think everyone should make time for just as much as the song itself.
One of the absolute best, most insightful reactions I have watched. Thank you for your thorough analysis. Really enjoying your reactions to Ren's masterpieces ❤
Coming from you DogDocKat is a massive compliment ❤
So glad that you found Ren. I've watched all of your reactions to Ren so far, subbed midway through the first one, and now, on the fourth one, you are officially in my top tier of reactors to watch. All of your reactions are so very insightful and you make excellent observations that help me understand his lyrics in a more comprehensive way.
Wow! Best analysis/ interpretation I've seen to this one!
Oh I think your reaction s are the best, I understand some of what REN is saying , but you clear it all up.
Thank you 🙏
He is an utter gem of a man, so awake& aware& he is helping people.
Love him ❤
Thank you! Such a wonderful reaction. Love how you break things down. ❤
Oh shit man, you did such a good job on this reaction. I never thought about things that way at the end with the captives eyes finally being opened so he can SEE the gas can and ren being dispirited 😮💜💜
Even the poor in America are elite compared to the world economy. How often do we look around the home and give even so much as a silent blessing to those that picked our coffee beans, or mined the ores for our machines, slaved for our food and clothing? We too are part of the money game. And we are outrageously blessed.
Yet we're spiritually bankrupt. Such a paradox!
I appreciate your interpretation of Ren's work. I got so much more out of the video watching through your eyes. Thank you for your contribution and insight.
I really enjoy your breakdowns, I get some stuff out of songs that I wouldn't have done without your reaction.
Yay! You did it. Now can you see why I requested you to react to this one? Tbh I needed some insight on it and thought you could be the one to explain it the best. I was right. Thank you! ❤
Now this is a true reactor adding value to a video not just putting silly faces for the thumbnail. Amazing.
You earn a new subscriber here man 👏
You've become my favorite reactor! Just the best! ❤
Such a nice compliment. Thank you!
I have watched nearly all Ren reactions that exist! But your reaction clicked with me on a whole other level! You're the first i've seen that has said as soon as he got eyes he stood up for himself which brought down the power! Finally the reaction i've been waiting for on this one! Subbed and waiting for the next one...
Again... your killing this reaction game Matt!! amazing insights into this thought provoking masterpiece, great jobs 👍👍👍👍 ps if you ever struggle making out the lyrics, Ren always pins them as a comment to his videos
Cool to see a different take on this. Brilliant analysis.
Not sure there is a right or wrong interpretation, the main thing is that it certainly provokes some self reflection as to our own roles in the money game.
Well Matt, you've done it again! Another indepth intelligent analysis. I'm really enjoying your reactions. Thankyou
Man i love your Ren breakdowns. You have an extremely intelligent insight to what Ren is talking about. Ive gotten to where i look for your reaction on my daily sweep of Ren reactions. Good job bro
I appreciate that, Jason!
Thank you for your thoughts on this song. Saw all four on Ren songs and I always found a new thought in your analysis. Thank you!
Can’t wait for Money Game Pt 2 - which fantastically smart but lighter in a way and a lyric video so easier to get the details.
I'm glad you finally made it here. I have not yet watched your response but I am excited to hear it.
My take on this video is.
The kidnapped individual was a 'defendant' in a 'trial' with the psychotic Ren accusing him and acting as Judge/Jury/Executioner. Ren's character, through the song, goes on to explain the individual's crime: being part of a money game - a twisted game where people are divided and suffering for the sake of wealth. People who are willing to exploit their peers get ahead, and other are forced to do bad things for survival.
Each time he gets close to exacting punishment and killing his victim, he stops to continue explaining more ways we twist our lives for that wealth. He even symbolically draws eyes on the head sack to signify that the victim isn't blind to it: the captor has 'opened his eyes'. He has no excuse and deserves this punishment of death.
Finally, with one final attempt to do the deed, Ren's character realized the futility of what he's doing. Looking in the mirror, as per the lyrics, he is also part of the money game. And so, he puts aside his holier attitude and burns himself to death instead.
As he said, as assuredly as the whole world turns while playing this game, the whole world burns as well.
This 1 take video took 186 takes to get the one they were looking for...
Edit: 1:46 Into this video and I am already impressed and this is why I couldn't wait to hear from you on this one.
Last edit: Absolutely masterful! I KNEW you would love this one. Chilling review. I cannot disagree with anything you said.
The 186 takes is a but of a myth. Ren said it as a deliberate exaggeration. But for sure a lot of takes
I don't think this is A) a character Ren plays, nor B) him being "psychotic".
As in other songs by him he makes it pretty clear what he think of capitalism. See for example Sick Boi and The Hunger: there's no "hinting" or "nudge nudge"-ing with Ren.
It was a Ren reaction that bought me to your channel but it was your incredibly deep insights that made me sub and check out your past content. I’m so glad I did so, and this was another really insightful intelligent reaction. I don’t follow many reactors at all, but I’m so glad to have found you.
Please keep doing what you’re doing. I’m so very grateful for it 💙

Great insight! Im not the only one who gets it! Great reaction brother
Thoughtful reaction as usual, but this one hit all the points. Money Game is my favorite “series” from Ren, very excited to see Money Game 3 that will drop soon. Hope to catch your reaction to MG 2 too
well, i guess you are the first i‘ve seen so far who comprehended this piece in the most logical way. great, thank you.
Thank you for explaining it so nicely for me to understand the meaning of this song.
Your interpretations of Ren's art make me think that in the future, Ren's music/art/messages could and should be studied in Universities. I can easily see how discussions his work will be studied and discussed in the same way that we study composers from the past in music classes, how figures from history are studied in philosophy and humanitarian courses. The messages and the way he delivers his messages are incredibly valuable lessons that can benefit generations to come.
I believe you're right.
I know that Hi Ren is being used as a teaching tool by amongst others psychology professors already.

Wow another great reaction. It's good that you can decipher and interpret Ren's songs so well which give us more insight to overlooked lyrics and there meanings.
Cheers for this. 👌🏼
Absolutely fantastic reaction/insight, love love loved this and your passion and knowledge so thank you 🙏🦉❤️🐊👍
Great one Matt! You're made for this
Awesome reaction and great interpretation of what it meant to you. I believe you opened my mind a little and helped me make sense of it. Thank you for that!
Really enjoy your interpretation of the performances - bringing further intellectual insights to music I enjoy.
Matt, thank you, _thank you_ for your contribution to the analysis of Ren's music. If you struggle with the rapid parts, he usually posts the lyrics in the comments below each music video - and if he didn't, some other dedicated soul took it upon themselves to transcribe the lyrics. You could try to load those up on your handheld so you can glance at it simultaneously?
Also, another 'tender' spot for most Renegades is when reactors pause a video and don't roll-back a few seconds before resuming. Some don't care, but most do; and not for themselves, but mostly out of a sense of anxiety that *you* might miss something integral to the experience.
edit: I've come back to thank you once again - your analysis has helped my own understanding of this track immensely! I was always a little perplexed by the symbolism of this track but your interpretation makes so much sense to me so _thank you_ . There is a strong visual parallel in the beginning of this video to the shocking scene in Childish Gambino's own "This is America" (which for your personal enrichment I would recommend you check-out). Note that Ren is on the right, while Donald Glover is on the left of the 'victim'. If you consider the hooded victim as though it were the Atlantic ocean, then Donald, in the US, uses a gun, while Ren, in the UK, uses 'finger guns' since guns have been banned in the UK for decades... Just food for thought.
Great food for thought! Thank you for your comments!
Ren has the ability to make us think. Your breakdowns are very insightful and eloquent. Thank you 👏
Thank you!
Fantastic breakdown, thank you! There were a couple parts I didn't understand and you actually clarified them and now the whole video even makes more sense than it already did! ☺
Great to hear!
