Hi 🥰 Vicki (mother of Apollo & Artemis) here! Thank you all so much for the support, it’s really sweet. These cats are loved way more than they know 🤭 To answer some questions:
I stream on twitch @ vicariouslyx . I often have a cat cam on when the kids are in the room, and they love climbing up to the camera to give you kisses. I play a variety of games (mostly Valorant) and chat with the community, so don’t feel obligated to stop by if this isn’t your type of content!
I saw their mom the first day I found the kittens. I took them in to clear their infections and everyday I would bring them out in a box for 20 minutes to see if the mom would show up again. She never did unfortunately. (ok in hindsight it doesn’t make sense to return them to the wild but I also felt really bad about taking them from their mom 🥹 i was even willing to take in a third cat to keep them together)
They’re five months now and are doing fine. I have a dog who they like to mess with, and who found them in the yard to begin with! My dog is still learning how to play with them, but he does enjoy stealing their toys.
The kids are super explorative and couldn’t be contained since day one. They love climbing (me included) and jumping onto places they shouldn’t. I quickly learned why cats are called children who can reach the ceiling. They’re super sweet and are tolerant of being held & cuddled, probably because I handled them so often as kittens. It’s been a pleasure witnessing them grow up :)
Thank you for watching my story!

She could have just handed them onto a rescue organisation and that would have been more than many would do. But taking on two sick kittens is not just a commitment of time and effort, it's one of a fair bit of cash. To take on _that_ responsibility is no mean feat. Much respect to her and anyone like her. 💞

Yeah that's happened to us before. A tabby female started hanging around in our garden, after the neighbours scared her off. At 9pm on the dot, she would arrive, so I'd put food out for her, and talked to her. She just walked into the house one night, not bothered by our other cats, and went straight to the food. Turned out she was pregnant, but very early in her pregnancy, and she was looking for somewhere safe to have her babies. We kept the only survivor. She had two more litters before we finally caught her and got her desexed.

There was also the possibility of the mother cat abandoning them if she sensed they were too sick to survive (or maybe she had already decided by then.). So, I'm glad she decided to keep them and that they are her happy little furry bundle of joy.

I'm trying to say they would have become feral and gotten pregnant or reproduced. Thank you for taking care of them properly and giving them a fantastic home. Yes, this is how my husband and I have ended up with all of our kitties plus we volunteer with rescue groups. Every single kitten cat that we have trapped has come around nicely.
Living outdoors for a cat is a brutal existence. I have had two experiences with raccoons scratching the faces of cats we were trying to feed. We were able to get Benny inside and get his face taken care of, it was so infected. Got him neutered a month later and he lived with us for several years until he passed away from I guess old age. The other cat was actually bitten by a raccoon on his stomach got him antibiotics and he was not allowed to go outside anymore

He had a eye and ear infection and mold on his fur causing him to have bold spots that never grow in, but in the end he got better and his was given to a nice family a few years later, mainly because he was a tiny terror to our other cats, and he kind of stayed kitten size even after becoming a adult cat possibly from being abandoned at a young age.

My own cat was rescued off the street as a kitten with a severe upper respiratory infection, the shelter said it had been pretty bad too. But 12 years later and she's doing fine, other then minor skin issues flaring up and being unable to run too much she's a healthy cat. I'm so grateful to the people in the shelter who got her healthy enough to be adopted by me at 5 months old.

Dude cat cams on streams are a good selling point, even if the game is going horrible you can always just watch the cats.
Stream chats are so invested in cats they have named Schlatt’s cat Soup despite his name being Jambo 😂

Wow, It's like hearing the story of how I ended up with my cat. I heard kittens meowing on the back of my house so I decided to go see my neighbours from behind. There was a stray mama cat hidden in my neighbours garden with her little black kitty. She disappeared from view when I approached her, leaving little kitty all alone. He had his eyes closed with infection so, even though my first wish was to let him with the mom, I couldn't. The vet said that I had done well, if not, he would have ended blind at best. And I'm not sure a blind stray cat would have been able to fend for himself.
Long story short, he was only 2 weeks old when I found him and it's been 2 years ago already! He is a little brat and perfectly well but how I love my little Bobby ❤️!
For the mom, an animal rescue organisation trapped, spayed and released her. She was with other kitten, around my cat's age so I think his brothers and sisters who ended up being all adopted 😺!

This infection is one of the worst...i remember as a kid seeing the kittens with their eyes turning like into fluid and leak out ( at least this is how it looked back then to me). Super horrifying and I'm still sad back in the days no one helped those kittens ...I'm so happy this girl reacted this quick

My grandmas dog had an infection that looked like what the cats had. Tons of mucus and such growing on the eye itself. He was given medication that didn't work, and was diagnosed with cancer. He died like last year. Wished I could have hung out with him more, and I also wished I wasn't such a little hellspawn to him when I was younger. He deserved the world.
    *Rest in Peace Christmas*
