Checking him out on Ebook from local library. The first 3 books listed, are written in Russian and I am not that advanced a reader, YET!!
@@loriwooten5249 you mean books by Alexander Pushkin? I think because they are not in demand. You can find good translated works on Amazon for sure.
@@RussianwithLilian I found some, thanks, prose as well as poetry from the looks of it? And a few critiques, it look like. I am sure there is something in the group to try. Nice something to do with the tv OFF. I still prefer a solid book to a tablet, but am grateful I have the access. Rain finally due here after a few 90+ degree days are cancelling watching the sunset.
@@RussianwithLilian Also found an old Dostoyevsky (sp?) made into a movie, subtitles from Mosfilms, WHITE NIGHTS. Yeah, I know, but it's been hot and now its 4 days of rain, and this house is entirely too quiet!
@@loriwooten5249 That's a good movie. You will like it.
Interesting history lesson. As a kid growing up in Montreal, I remember the Ocean Liner Alexander Pushkin. My great aunt who was visiting from Estonia, returned home on that ship. Now I know the connection 😊
Thank you so much! And thank you for your story as well 💖🤗

Hello everyone 👋. If you haven't subscribed yet, why not?
Indeed, why not??? Hello, Jay!
Интереснейшая история, которую я не знала! Знала только, что Ганнибал был прадедом Пушкина. 🙄😁 Спасибо, Лилечка! Продолжай в том же духе! 👍🏻🥰
Спасибо огромное за поддержку! 💖🤗
Brigitte L Jones. This was a very enlightening story.Despite having studied many years ago some Russian Literature, only novels I'd have never ever un earthed this background story of Pushkin's grandfather. I really appreciate these segments of Russian History and values. This is a very worthwhile activity you are sharing with us.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Warmly, Lilian 💖
What an interesting story. Real history is always much more fascinating than fiction. I am really looking forward to the next history lesson!😄❤💙
Thank you so much! 🤗

I love your channel, Lilian!🥰 I am learning Russian (because I want to read War and Peace in its original language; it is one of my favourite classics) and I have always loved Russia, its beautiful culture, traditions etc…
I am learning a lot about Russia here in your channel with you. Thank you very much, Lilian!
Ariel, I am so happy to see you here, on the channel. Welcome! Thank you for your wonderful comment. "War and Peace" in Russian is a challenging goal. I commend you! Have a great day and please know that I am here for you to answer your questions.

You are very kind! Thank you so very much for your kind words and encouragement, Lilian. Many thanks indeed. Yes, I will have many questions I am sure of that. 😀🤗
Kind regards and looking forward to another great and very informative video of yours.

Interesting history lesson! I look forward to hearing more about Russian history.
Thank you! 💖🤗
I love hearing you speak Russian!
you mean reciting the poem? Thank you!
@@RussianwithLilian Yes! I wish I had found that quote again; I think the King Charles involved was French.
There are several Orthodox Churches near me - Russian, Greek, and one I forget the name of. Have you described your home in detail? Weather?
I think I should make a video about my home town Irkutsk. Thank you for watching! 💖🤗
@@RussianwithLilian I think you should too! I know I would learn a lot! Now it's RUSSIAN COUPLETS WHILE FIGHTING. Look at that terrain, and how Yulia holds the fiddle - shoulder instead of neck.
Have you watched Otavo Yo's STREETSWEEPER? It's funny and has a cat.
No, I haven’t 😻
@@RussianwithLilian I watched them on a YT livestream a LONG time ago! Now I am reviewing IVAN THE CRAYFISH - has to be a lullaby. I want to vacation there; it is beautiful when the orchestra part comes in! Alexei Belkin plays what my people would have called a lapharp, I think, among other instruments. Oh, it's STREET CLEANER - Alex loved it.
Hi Lilian I have a question for a future video. What if anything, did the Russian leaders think of our Revolutionary and Civil wars? I realize the world was much less connected then than it is now, but did they have an opinion?
What an interesting idea! Thank you!
What big impact of russian language on the world culture? Few examples plz
DJZLOY, what an interesting handle! Злой?
Okay, here we go, if you're really serious.
The world recognizes significant contribution of the Russian language to global culture in literature.
Leo Tolstoy: His novels, such as "War and Peace" and "Anna Karenina," are considered masterpieces of world literature. They explore complex themes of human existence, morality, and society.
Fyodor Dostoevsky: works like "Crime and Punishment" and "The Brothers Karamazov" explore psychological and philosophical questions, influencing countless writers and thinkers worldwide.
Alexander Pushkin: often regarded as the founder of modern Russian literature, his works, including "Eugene Onegin" and "The Captain's Daughter," have had a profound impact on Russian culture and beyond.
@@RussianwithLilian 3 writers for 200 years is significant contribution yeah right
