I have the same kind of windows. I think . I'm about to change then, and that's why I find the video to just see how they are working on it thanks for the videos
Old wooden single pane windows are not energy efficient at all. So I guess if you want higher heating/cooling bills and continued maintenance (scraping and painting) over the next 60 years, then sure...
I rehabbed windows in my Galv. Victorian and used Resource Technoloy vinyl seals. The windows were in pretty good shape but still not as efficient as current products. I especially like the idea of installing fixed glass were egress is not required.
Great video! Thanks for making it. I have an old house built in 1914 and I need to take the windows out. You gave me some good ideas.
What about if you are painting the old ones and putting them back in?
Could you have gone I. Through the inside instead And leave the exterior trim ?
Yes but I was replacing the windows, trim and siding on the house so I just decided to pull them out from the front.
Nice info and straightforward
Now what if I don't want a certain window at a spot? Can I just replace it with a new wall rather than another window?
I have new windows that I have to install...yes me myself and I..my old windows are exactly the same...thanks for the info...

My windows are on the second floor, do you all these can be done from the inside?
Yes you can remove them from the inside
@@jasonweekswardenofthenorth5914 we did it. No more drafty windows anymore.
@adilenecastillo2136 sawweett, im excited ,we are going to do our own really soon! Good job Adilene 👏
@@jasonweekswardenofthenorth5914 go for it! We are waiting for Spring to come to replace a second pair in a different room. We tackled the worst ones.
@adilenecastillo2136 heck yeah, its raining, so ill wait for a break in the weather, thank you for the encouragement 😊
Was hoping for a vid on removing windows and trim, not sashes. 😞
Thank you for the content 😊
I like the video it was the great it's going to help me out but my windows are worse than that
Thank you
People would pay good money for those counterbalance springs. You just cannot buy them anymore.
Where's part 2?
Better not to remove original windows at all. Repair and restore them and they will last another 60 years.
I agree
