Principles #8 - Landing Errors and How to Fix Them

- This lesson teaches you the most common errors pilots make on landing and how to fix them.
The actual errors, their consequences, and why they happen are demonstrated along with the "fixes," or corrective actions, that let you recover the landing after making the error.
The safest option that covers any of these situations is a "Go Around" and this procedure is included as well in the video. I've shown it as a generalised procedure so you can use it in any airplane, but you should always look at the Pilot's Operating Handbook for specifics related to the airplane you fly.
Comments and feedback are always welcome, so if this video helped you out hit the like button and let me know in the comments below.
Cheers!
This is an outstanding video for landing in any sim, and real life! I might even keep this for my future real life flying students!
Excellent summary of all about landing! I'm a real life pilot will show this to my son first thing when it is time to teach him fly.
Thanks for this - a lot of content in a short video, but I keep coming back - having different issues in different planes.
My goodness. I am so thankful that i found this! Now I know what i'm doing wrong. Thanks for the tips!
I ground loop all the time in WW2OL lol. Thanks for the aileron tip. :)
One addition to the go-around (when there is traffic) pull off to the right side and parallel the runway so you can monitor take-off traffic on the runway. But thats trivial compared to this excellent tutorial!

thx for the tutorial. Now i can play my plane simulator correctly
Very nice! Definitely need to practice some of the advice you gave.
Excellent! I wish I had been told this when I learnt to fly.
thanks, good advice. If you've seen my landings, I'm your text book example. Will help me no doubt.
Fantastic presentation and a very enjoyable commentary. Thanks for posting.
doing DCS now? fantastic! my favourite sim
Hi, can you make some Air Combat maneuvers for certain specific planes like the F-86 or the newer F-5E?
Thank you, Sir! o7
Obrigado!
Good tips but in some aircraft using the ailerons won't do much to save you at low speed because they can lose most (or all) of their effectiveness (even before touchdown in some cases). It's always worth making the aileron control input but sometimes only using the engine to blast some air over the tail will let you correct your roll-out and avoid a ground loop altogether, rather than just riding it out.
Thanks made my first landing after watching this didnt land on the runway though lol
ground looping It happen to me once in a while!
What’s a back pressure?
