I have put loads of pictures in my folders but I went to look for them and they are gone. I did not delete them, so what has happened to them and can I get them back ?

Is Recoverit free when you recover files and pictures it says that I have to buy or does I just plug in USB to download it when i completed the scan so I dont need to press recover

Or at least I hope they are as my issue is different. I'm taking my PC for repairs and I don't want anyone to see them. It runs windows 10. I hope those who gonna repair it, do not dig that deep. Freaking computers and laptops. When you delete something it should permanently disappear with no restoration available in any way.
When you delete something it just doesn't decay completely the delete command tells your system alright you can write over this data now you can delete the photos or whatever and just put new stuff to fill the disk completely like a big nonsense video and delete that last one too and that should do it
