I have noticed people my age 68 or older do have a hard time with their phones. Lucky I have always been into tech so I am the one in my senior community that they bring their phones to so I give them a hand with the problem they may have.
This was a great idea to do this video. A lot of 70+ ppl live in my condo tend to buy Android phones from QVC or HSN and when they get it in the mail do not understand really how to use the features. I am going to recommend this video or reference it for them the next time someone is struggling
My gma is 98 and figured out her Roku relatively quickly and now she’s getting her first smartphone. If I live nearly that long I hope I’m still that sharp.
I am always a little miffed when people assume that older people can't do something just because we are old, so when this popped up in my feed, I said here we go again. But you know what, I was very wrong this time. This video is great! Really good ideas presented without being condescending at all. And, even though I am pretty technologically savvy, I actually found a couple of tips that I am now using for myself! Good job! Thanks!
My mom is literally on an iPhone 8 for like the past 4 years because I don't see an option to move her to the gesture navigation for iPhones and all the stress that that would bring. I'm personally using s 22 Ultra and would love to move her to like the Google pixel 7 at some point just for ease of use for me personally but for family members who are also on iOS her being able to use iMessage.... is really a big deal LOL. For me I don't care but for family members it makes it easier to receive media. There's a lot of nuance
I am a retired College lecturer on Computers plus programming skills and starting to learn this stuff. I even find this hard. Completely different way of doing things.Lennie.
FYI: I'm in my 60's.. my phone does NOT recognize my fingerprint. Had to call Samsung to unlock my phone then register a Samsung account in case I'm locked out again. Working in heathcare, with the constant hand washing, many of my senior friends have this same issue.
I really like that you made this video but I can't get my mom to watch anything. I'm trying to empower her by letting her learn it herself rather than me showing her how to do everything because I think when I do that I am hindering her from learning it herself. She worked on computers in the late seventies and somehow made it to a few years back right before she retired. And she couldn't tell you the difference between the world wide Web, the cloud, modem or a router😂 that's just for starters😂 She'll say,"I work for 35 years I don't need to learn another damn thing"😂 Kind of hard to argue with that logic but I don't know how to force her to learn something when she doesn't want to bother to learn it Cheers !😂
I didn't see "Easy Mode" in the location you suggested & used the search bar to look for it. Have they changed the operating system? I'm using a Galaxy 14A
Hi,I am a senior that is looking for a phone easy to use ,like he shows in the review,,I did not hear him say which samsung galaxie it was,Can anyone help me. and where to buy it,Consumer Cellular offers some but i would like to get it already set up like he did in the video any suggestion s would be great .Thank you so much
Will this interface be the same on all Galaxy phones? My friend won't buy top of the range phones. I am looking at the M13 or Ao4. Which phone is this in the video? Thx!
You should make videos teaching them to use it so we can send them cause no matter how much time I teach my parents they ask me the same things 10 million times it's driving me insane like why even have the phones if they are not interested in learning and or jotting down the information. My mom still doesn't know how to use the phone book but she calls me every day 😑
What type of phone do you have? It looks much bigger than mine. I need something much bigger and better. My phone is a Samsung J3 Lina Pro. It is several years old.
It's an S22 Ultra, but this is very expensive. For a cheaper option, get an S21 FE or an S21 Plus, these are barely worse in terms of specs, still have big (over 6.0") displays, and are alot cheaper, although to make the text as big as theirs, go into Settings > Display > Screen zoom.
Greggles, Good Day, This has nothing to do with above, but you are so clever maybe you can help this 75 yr old - My Lady has an Earlier model Samsung Mobile phone, she sends emails overseas every day to me in Australia, we have verbal contacts everyday, through my Provider OPTUS - BUT NOW she cannot have a verbal talk anymore. Is it possible she has touched the incorrect button or does she need a new SIM Card? Her Provider is TRUE in Bangkok. Appreciate your kindness Please! John Mc
I usually set up the brightness relatively high, but also use the night time/blue light filter as always on. Usually just check in two weeks after set up to see how feel when looking at phone to then fine tune those settings.
My daughter went to do her update on her s23 Ultra and the phone got encrypted so they sent her a new one under warranty. The issue is she does not have her old phone to transfer data what is the quickest way cuz she's having issues with account verification because she doesn't have her old phone. She did put her SIM card in her new phone and is signed into her Google accounts as well as Samsung account. The issue is when she goes to restore it says there's nothing to restore but she definitely has cloud storage on both accounts Gmail Google as well as Samsung. Is there a trick or a better way? Again her old Samsung s23 Ultra when she did the recent update the phone got encrypted and they were not able to get it to come back. And again they sent her a new s23 Ultra and she is having a hard time getting back from messages. It looks like she has her photos. She's not with me she's in college so I'm trying to help her out. Any help is appreciated. I thought you might have a video addressing this.
And I have to spend hours teaching them again n again to use it and they lie every time and say that I don't show them how to use it.....when I was growing up they never even sat down and teach and help me with anything and I have to spend so much time teaching them and they still come back the next day asking me about the same thing over and over and over
Respect us sir. The word Elderly is respectful. The word "old" I feel it is disrespectful. Shoes get old. People age. Please respect our generation. Please understand. Thank you for your time.
Thank you so much
Video was helpful and informative
Great idea for a video! For those of us with older parents who would like to get them updated technology to keep closer, this was very helpful!

They are lucky to have you around.
Well-done, Greggles. I'm setting up an Android phone for an elderly family member today ... really helpful!

Thank you bro much appreciated that you made this video.

Excellent, straight to the point and demonstrated well. Thank you for this video!
So key for my mother in law, love samsung phone.

Wish there was a way to prevent reducing listening volume. Mom is notorious for turning it down by accident and then calls and cannot hear us.
Excellent walk through. Thank you!
The other thing is get a wider phone, its hard to type on a candy bar phone

LO I have a blackview phone and did not know it had a 3 button navigation option till I saw your video and checked. Thank you.

Good video. What galaxy models have easy mode? Looking for my 87 yr old mom. Thanks
This is genius, thank you so much for doing this, very helpful !🏆
Very helpful! Which Galaxy phones are these features available?
I really like that you made this video but I can't get my mom to watch anything.

Really like the color to that wallpaper can you please send me a link

Easy mode not available in F14 5G
I have always wanted to get my mother a smartphone so I can call her on VC but she doesn't know how to use one 😂😂
Any feature on galaxy similar to Siri?
5:01 Or they can have LastPass on both devices.

It's either the S22 ultra or S23 Ultra, both almost identical looking but obviously the S23 Ultra is newer and has some improvements

even on easy mode its much advannced compared to ios like being able to add shortcut wiidgets as apps

Nice content and also change the font size
No! Don't set brightness high! It can damage your retinas! Personal experience.
I usually set up the brightness relatively high, but also use the night time/blue light filter as always on.
Usually just check in two weeks after set up to see how feel when looking at phone to then fine tune those settings.
First of all, don’t give them Facebook, unless you want them to get constantly hacked and fall for conspiracy theories

What does the old phone do/say when you try to switch it on?
@@fred-youtube we got it but thank you so much.
I told my mom to do that, and she said she's fine with it. Also, she says l see a message but can't see it.
Ask her what she means in particular by "I can see a message but can't see it"
And I have to spend hours teaching them again n again to use it and they lie every time and say that I don't show them how to use it.....when I was growing up they never even sat down and teach and help me with anything and I have to spend so much time teaching them and they still come back the next day asking me about the same thing over and over and over
