My Rita passed away in September 2022 this song was our song, it was played at her funeral as she requested it will also be played at mine. I miss my Blossom so much so until we are together again Bloss & I can hold your hand through out the night, I love you loads xxxx ❤
Not sure this video is entirely innocent - it's a bit creepy the way he is following a woman young enough to be his daughter everywhere, and she clearly has no idea he is watching her... I'm sure that wasn't intentional, but some critics have also cited over the years that the song is about stalking and obsession
"I wanna wake up with you. I wanna be there when you open your eyes, I want you to be the first thing that i see. I wanna wake up with you. I wanna lay by your side baby, I wanna feel every beat of your heart. And throughout the night i wanna hold you tight. I wanna wake up with you. I wanna wake up with you. I wanna reach out and know that your there. I want you to be the first thing that i see I wanna wake up with you.....
My sons mother passed away to heaven i beleive & farther & brother & freind / i wonna wake up with them with our existing family they have left because their flesh is weak i know their spirit is willing in Gods promise of his never ending heavenly kingom of PEACE
My mum would play this song all the time when it came out, ahh Westbourne Park and Ladbroke Grove in the hot summertime of 1986, wish it was as nice as that now.
Im white mate, this elderly Jamaican couple who i do shopping for always say to me if they can go back to the 60s 70s 80s without the racism they would in a heartbeat. People today especially the youths have no morals or values.
Magnificent. I remember listening to Pick Of The Pops on Radio 1 on 20 September 1992 and the late great Alan "Fluff" Freeman played the Top 10s from 20 September 1966, 1971 and 1986. This beauty (which is a song that my late mother liked) was at No.5 in the 1986 part of the programme.
Am much present . I believe am addicted to this song. Making me sleep late always..... keeping awake to listen to it flow through my veins. Beautiful music that never fades..., Oooooh when shall our Ugandan artists produce such lasting music. Big love Boris ❤❤❤
This song is pure class and has a sentimental meaning to me. I was 9 and my grandfather was dying (he served in WW2 and was a railway engineer all his life on steam first and then diesel) after having just retired and then suffered the affliction of Cancer straight away. I have few memories and can still see his face being that i was only 9. Anyway this song was played on the radio back then at it just takes me back to a sad time. All the same though it is just a lovely song.
6/19/22 Well it’s summer now but season to season I still miss Jamaica. So here I go trying to comfort myself with the real glorious reggae music. Started with Jc Lodge, next my King of reggae Dennis Emmanuel Brown.
I worked on a building site in the early 90’s near the Portobello rd and drank in The Pelican. You’d see the old West Indians in there, like Boris and I’d chat and drink with them. All gone now probably, good times..
I 've always loved this song. My mammy did also. Whenever i hear it, it reminds me of her. Will always love and miss u mammy. She always used to sing along to it. She had a lovely voice.❤❤❤❤
Beautiful tune by the great legend known as Boris Gardiner ❤️ As heard on Now that's what I call music 8 also from November 1986 Record 1 side 2 ,Track no 8 ❤️ and also on the original 1986 CD Album,Now that's what I call music 86 ,Track 16 Just a great tune to relax to ❤️Love the video also from 1986 ,Hard to believe now Boris Gardiner is 80 ,Where does the time go?
Que recuerdo de esta linda melodía de mis mejores años de los 80 . Nunca en la vida la dejare de escuchas mientras nuestro amado Dios nos de la vida !!!!!!!
What a classic this song is. Just heard it today on "Waks Tiki Taka" and decided to look for its video and bang! Here it is. Memories are made of this! I am shocked as to why it has not made a million views and more! His style of singing is similar to Pat Kelly - Let Me Have The Chance to Love You [One More Time]
Two thoughts: 1. At my most recent job (cafe) we used a station out of Berlin - Antenna Brandenburg - that aired European pop hits from the 70's forward, and this song was part of the playlist. It was something nice to hear as i went about my work. 2. Geoff Marshall did a video about Westbourne Park tube station where he mentioned it was used as one of the scenes here (at 00::55). That was what brought me here.
anyone still listening to this awesome song in 2025 as it is months since I last seen it on TV until today on MTV 80's on SKY .

только что увидел на MTV и решил найти в Ютьюбе 🎉

Those days and videos we had were so innocent 😇

Remembering the 1980s in Jamaica. It wasn't perfect but it was surely a nicer place by far than what it is today.
I'd say it was peaceful
Im white mate, this elderly Jamaican couple who i do shopping for always say to me if they can go back to the 60s 70s 80s without the racism they would in a heartbeat. People today especially the youths have no morals or values.
