I’m pretty sure that’s a trick made by both of them, they left a female body there or just general Yu Zun helping them to cover up again because he did purposedly let them go when he saw both of them at the festival. Plus, he saved them again when they almost get caught by the Emperor. He diverted his attention to the fire.
