Something people should remember is that, realism or not; people will always find a way to do edgy shit in this game regardless, it's part of the beauty of gmod, a sandbox which its only real restriction is how many addons you can download

i always felt like the Realism title was pretty misleading. it's more like Tacticool than anything else. it's meant to look glamorous, flashy, and cinematic. realism is the last thing people think about when jumping into Gmod, so advertising it as such doesn't seem very attractive either, which is why this is simply just a niche as opposed to an all new way of playing the game.
The views come from the misleading title alone. A lot of people started to lose interest as soon as the initial "wow" factor of Gmod having this sort of stuff in it died down, but that "realism" title still gets stragglers to come in.
The map he's on is actually a wave defense map with a built-in gamemode. The map spawns the people, and afterwards increasingly difficult waves of combine.
I remember seeing some maps based of *real* tragedies in the gmod workshop when i scroll down very far in the maps section, some bone chilling stuff and they were also sometimes get reuploaded every single time

As much as i love gmod realism videos (mainly because you need to be really creative inorder to actually make something feel like unrecord for example) i always knew that there would be active shooter videos sooner or later, but by the looks of it, that douchebag barely tried to fit in with the realism modpacks in the columbine video, seems like he just got some offbrand TFA weapons and called it a day
very cool video and good topic. one gm_construct-ive critique i have is that i feel the space between cuts is a little too wide, like 4:19 or 5:00 just to name two examples. again, not hating, loved the vid, just somethin' i thought could be worked on ig.
I think the main reason why people lost interest in gmod realism is that it's repetitive. It does not take too long for people to get bored with gmod realism.
used to be a half-well known realism creator (though most if not all of my videos are gone now), and believe me, this was the worst trend possible. Any mods made by me and a lot of other people had to be deleted/privated because realism kids were complaining and bombarding the comments. If you made ONE realism video, then you'd be locked to realism content if you wanted any views. Everyone was extremely toxic in the community as well.

"gmod realism" isnt a movement lol its just an idea, I think the biggest issue with "gmod realism" is that no one is making playable games/servers to play with these mods WITH OTHER PEOPLE. and not just make a "ready or not" remake because thats what everyone is doing with gmod realism. how about a realistic hood roleplay game like grand theft auto? that would be a fun game on garrys mod with realism not just some fps game. its like the same thing with "roblox realism" its fun to make games to get as close to real life as possible because it will never happen, we can only get closer to perfection but never reach it. thats whats fun
As a gmod realism enjoyer, I think people are trying too hard. I have 150 addons with quite a few of them as just fun addons (and reshade) compared to realism mods and my game looks really nice. Every gmod realism video now has oversaturated, laggy graphics with 500 mods and just too much stuff. Also about the school shooting video, people in this community can always be disgusting. People have always done bad stuff in this community, if you keep commenting and interacting with the video more people are gonna do it.
THE TRUTH ABOUT GMOD "REALISM" Let's be real, gmod realism isn't gmod realism, it should be called gmod graphic. I am not hating on gmod "realism" as I partake in it. It's not the "realism" people want it's the good graphics. Because there are people like me, let me explain. For years, I've always hated movies that get gun logic wrong, for example infinate ammo in a mag or not racking a bolt when the gun is empty and the character has changed mags, this is the same for games. People don't really like things like the smg or the ar2 because you can't ADS, you can't rack the bolt and so on. This is why you get so many people using modern warfare mods over other weapon mods that are just as good (like ones off of TFA base) because they visually look good, and the animations and mechanics, sounds and so on are realistic. Also, the reason why I used quotation marks before and not now is because of context, before, I said "realism" because you don't run and gun irl (unlike gmod "realism" but I said it normally now because modern warfare gets reloads and gun mechanics themselves right) so, what this means is our own community got it wrong, its not realism we want, it's visuals. Hence why like I said before gmod realism is actually just gmod graphic. Also, I'd like to add on what I said before, yes, I do gmod "realism" myself, however I don't do reenactments of school shootings, I doubt many of us actually do that.
TLDR: some edgelord did it for reactions and reddit got mad. As expected of the gmod roleplay community, no idea how this is surprising to anyone or why people give a fuck about edgy garbage like that anymore.
You had my attention until it took you over half of the video to get to the point, only to turn my eardrums inside out with a sound effect that nobody finds funny. On another note, you should apply for Ubisoft. Ubisoft thinks that stupid ringing sound is enjoyable to listen to, so fuck it, may as well help them out.

MY MAN!! also, i wanted to say that while this video is great in almost every way, your timing is very strange and off. you take long, unnecessary pauses and fade to black in points where a more interesting transition (or none at all) could have been in its place. it leads to the video feeling odd and disjointed. aside from this, this is a really good video. well written, doesn't waste any words. your humor is pretty good and your editing is engaging. i would love to see more source engine games stuff from you.
The map was a school, I put civilians and terrorist, I was a swat/military guy, everyone ended up dead, looked like the Beslan School Terrorist Attack, so I think I did pretty well because if russian special tactics dont care about civilians, why should I?
Solid video. I really like the production but for your next video I do have some feedback you may find value in. I think you use fade's WAY too much. Fade's are good for a transition after a long section but here it feels like every 20 or 30 seconds its a fade making the video feel disjointed and hurting the pacing. Besides that I appreciate this video! Good quality.
The only "tactical realism" mod I respect is Hideous Destructor for Doom. After getting shot you can be in so much pain you can hardly walk, not treating your wounds has you bleed out, a single stray imp fireball can be the death of you, having no body armor means a single well-placed shot kills you, some enemies camp around corners until you show up, zombies can even fire while you're hidden in an attempt to catch you off guard. It does have some stupid parts like being barely able to sprint even if you have very little gear with you, like the player character always has asthma or something. That and pistol rounds having no stopping power at all, it is good for bleeding tougher more armored enemies out (rifle rounds can't pierce well), but they feel so powerless against weak enemies ironically.
I installed some dudes workshop bundle of a bunch of mods, and my pc started slowing down. (obviously) I checked my VPN/add blocker to see if something was going on, and let's just say it was because a mod was analyzing my game and stuff. Luckily I instantly unsubscribed to all my mods and uninstalled before anything WEIRD happened.
I'd prefer Gmod Realism over all the skibidi toilet, and Fnaf crap. But then again, all that stuff is for kids of today and not 2000s kids... but that's just me I guess 😂😂😂

I think I don't mind realism in Gmod because that's all just add ons and stuff It's not like call of duty and other games where it drives up file sizes and all that realism is a mandatory style But man I miss when there was still a sense of some sort of an art style in older cod games If you put MW3, Black Ops 1 and Advanced Warfare on the screen being played at the same time you could see the differences, even if not very upfront
