- In today's video we are ay BCA Nottingham for their first physical sale since the pandemic! they had over 600 cars for sale, free food and drinks as well as some sponsor stands. This is a sign of things to come from BCA I believe, there will be more physical sales from them in the new year!

Auctions turn into peeing contests. Egos take over and prices soar.
That’s the difference between a “pro” and a “ punter” tbh if you get 2 punters bidding against each other that’s when prices soar, pros have already shook their head and got their focus on the next lot of interest to them 😊

They’ve been taking bids off the wall for years,their doing it now with internet bids trotting up the bids hoping someone will bid another £50-00 on it and say saying sold then it’s in the following weeks sale for the same thing to happen and if that doesn’t work they put it on a Buy it Now, they really must think the trade are nuts and don’t realise what their doing,certain dealers have trotted their own cars at live auctions for years with the full knowledge of the auctioneer’s who know them personally,the trade look around to see whose bidding on the cars and when they see this going on walk away and refuse to bid,this has gone on for the last 40 years as I know,the whole place was corrupt,unfortunately the private punter didn’t know anything about this and we’re stitched up like a kipper to find out later when they’d payed for it they’d bought a lemon and couldn’t get their money back,they think because it’s at an auction it’s a bargain and must be cheap,the auctioneer knows when their private and takes them to the cleaners.
And those fees....lol
@@motsigman It does make you wonder how the hell BCA lost £100,000,000, last year when the buyers fees are so high, they should never have got involved with retail sales and stuck to what they did best,their advertising costs must have been horrendous and still lost money,unbelievable someone need’s sacking for closing all those live auctions it’s cost them dearly.

Romans 10:13 states "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.".
Eternal life in heaven is just one prayer away. All you have to do is believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross for your sins. As an atonement for your sins. And rose from the grave on the 3rd day. Ask Jesus to save you of your sins and give you eternal life in Heaven. Salvation is a free and everlasting gift from God. Please don't let pride drag you into eternal punishment in Hell, but ask Jesus to give you eternal life in Heaven. If you're getting a strong feeling of resistance while reading this, it's because Satan doesn't want you to get saved. He wants you to resist, and think it's not real. He wants you in Hell for all eternity with him. Hell is not a fun place, like worldly people like to imagine. It's everlasting torture with no relief. I'm only taking the time to text this, because I want to get the message out. There are so many distractions in life keeping people from witnessing to other people. Keeping people from thinking about salvation. Keeping you from thinking about life after death. Please, ask Jesus into your hearts to save you of your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Ask him for a place in Heaven, and he will save you from eternal damnation in Hell.

Why a Defender sells at all - is beyond me. It's going to be a money pit form the very start. The world's most unreliable vehicle says JD Power.
How things have changed.
Late 80’s early 90’s I’d often buy stock from BCA , it was called ADT for a while. No internet back then, no way of knowing what was available before,so it was a case of visiting the auction with glasses guide in hand and bidding in the ring. Happy days, it was always an adrenaline rush and a fun day out.
Likewise, Blackbush was my haunt, the good old days eh!
Same here, Blackbush and Paddock Wood late 90s early 2000s no internet bids from what I remember, Autotrader Mag and Glasses Guide. Best car i ever bought was a Preg bmw 530 petrol. For £2500 inc fees. Sold it for three times that from what i remember. Great fun
With the cost of living & what's about to come, cars & their prices will be the last of our worries!

Some Billy Big Balls would have been swaggering about like Conor McGregor in BCA to buy that Defender because it was the nicest/most I demand car in that auction, sold online to someone for a Christmas present probably lol. That S6 Avant was a stunning car, but imagine buying that it could be potentially around for ages.
That Disco seemed a really cheap car you could probably have stuck that on front of the pitch for £20k maybe more. Just have to sell it with a tracker subscription for a year & a steering wheel lock 😂

From Fleet News: 'JLR has re-launched its in-house insurance solution in a bid to help customers that are struggling with soaring premiums. While insurance costs have been increasing across the board, Range Rover vehicles have suffered particularly large premium hikes.' Might not be an issue?
My 2016 Discovery 4 landmark is still £1700 with that new JLR compared to £600 last year. 9+ NCD, 35 years driving, no points. 15k mile per year. Kept overnight in locked compound!! West country, not london. Everything in its favour historically but premium almost tripled year on year. Honestly thought JLR reboot of their insuirance might help but they are no cheaper than everyone else and pricier than several (around £50 but still). So I don't rate the chances of this insurance offer fixing owners' first world problems
I work in insurance and I wouldn’t touch range rovers with a barge pole!

My impression is that the rest of us are paying for those unfortunate to have had theirs stolen or stuck in a workshop for weeks on end...
I used to love the Nottingham auction. Every dodgy character in the city was there.

Personally I'd NEVER buy anything, not even a cup of tea from BCA. You usually find the following at their sales
Main dealer trade ins - - - scrap boxes they just want rid of
Ex fleet cars - - - done more miles than the space shuttle
We buy any car - - - - well, BCA and we buy any car have the same owners
Also they are drained of fuel, sometimes the puncture repair kits are "missing", tyres swapped, even light bulbs replaced with duds. And as for the "engineers report" - - the inspection takes less than 5 minutes and isn't worth a dam..... you get what, a 1 hour warranty for major defects

I think the LR RR insurance issues is more Press blowing it out of all proportion. I have several or most of my customers with RR most are saying the premiums have gone up. By the sound of it around 75%. One I have spoken to recently has the Autobiography SV £150k new and his insurance is £1700, was just over £1000 when he got it. But if you can afford £150k on a car £1700 insurance isn’t a big deal

I know I’m going to get a lot of flack for this, but I think the reason why land Rovers are range rovers still go for a little bit silly money at the auctions it’s because the car dealers haven’t yet got the memo that the general public the majority time won’t touch them with a 10 m cattle prod they are unreliable, they cost too much to maintain a run in today’s climate. Yes there will always be people which will buy them but they are slowly getting less and less and you see Jaguar Land Rover in driven by third and fourth hand truly down the secondhand tree being run on a shoestring, and being very poorly maintained because of the cost of running them

Defender made cap clean plus vat because it was qualifying not plus vat as most station wagons - effectively same price
Is it just me that never understands any of these auctioneers. I wouldnt get anywhere at these auctions.

Very good content Joe. I bought my son a 2014 VRS from a dealer a few months ago. Paid slightly more than you, £10,000 to be exact. Worth it though. Great car. Plenty of power and economical as well. Anyway the 'Little and Large' show came across very well today. Toby seems to have settled in and does a good job with the editing etc. Happy new year. All the best

I'm looking for a nice Jag V6 diesel XF-r or XJ budget 7 1/2 grand ideally lower than that if you get one let me know yeah I'm thinking about one of those Skoda d vrs but I want a superb they do it in a superb? But they do a 250 break wouldn't mind one of them.

No it doesn’t include options, I guess it was some pretty expensive add ons!
It’s price effectively included vat that’s why it made 20 percent over clean. Most station wagons are sold plus vat.

@@c11yan Only commercial versions are sold plus VAT, not station wagons. VAT is in the hammer price on those, might be VAT qualifying but if you're a private individual buying it that will mean FA as they can't claim it back.

Hi there - Can anyone buy cars from auctions, or do you need a licence of some sort? Also these are not salvage cars are they, like copart for example? As I am looking to buy & sell cars that are in good working condition with no history of problems. Thanks in advance :)
I used to deal with BCA in the seventies and eighties, now I would not touch them with a 100 metre bargepole, they just kept geeting greedier and more arrogant. Aston Barclay are the company to buy from.

Save fuel, drink & food money not going to and from auctions. I buy more stock online now and make more profit than I did back in the days of walking about at public auction. I really hope my local BCA auctions continue to do online only.

Re your Discovery short. I know a thing or two about the LR 2litre Ingenium engine. The issue is for the most part based on LR's advice to have a service/oil change interval every 21k. When the DPF gets clogged, diesel fuel can get back into the sump. As you may realise the oil over time becomes diluted, wearing out timing chains. The chains come from the same manufacturer as supplied to most other European manufacturers. Back in the 2016/217 not many owners knew about the problem. The trick is to find a vehicle that has had much regular oil changes, and there are plenty of them. If you come across an OV plate it will be a Land Rover car. Oddly they get oil changes every 11k.
i hear like the Navara the DPF is positioned poorly and never gets hot enough.
Depends on the installation JLR documents online explain the high risk models.
Defender had reserve of £70,000 when the CAP clean was only £64,500 ?

No. I don’t think they’ll open them all up again, just select ones (on occasion)

Those were the days, but I think they’re gone for good. Bidding online is so much simpler and more efficient use of time. Miss the tyre kicking bacon sandwich days though!

As he said, it's tricky to film as most don't allow it. Aston Barclay do allow filming though. His only option was to film the cars in the carpark and then film the auction online.
