I really appreciate this video. I've been waffling about buying a cheap rolling machine. I certainly don't expect the quality a Durston would put out, but I am like you, a person who is having fun making my own jewelry and mostly giving it away. I can not justify the high cost of a durston right now until I feel where I am going with this. Thanks!
I wish you made those dials on top to sell. I just bought one and it does have a few things different. Mine doesn't have the screws in the top dials. They welded them onto the posts so I am not sure if this is an upgrade? But I have to say the mill works great! So nice and easy to flatten metals. I have not used th rollers to make wire yet since I just got it last night. I just got a piece of copper wire and man it flattened it very quickly and smoothly. I'm going to get a torch next for making some ingots from my 999 fine silver bullion coins mixed with some pure copper to make it .925. Still learning on it that I seen on a video. But thanks for the video. You video last week is what led me to get the machine and it also came with another extension roller for larger half round. I guess I need to get a kiln next as well. I've been making pendants for about a year now and really like doing this stuff. Thanks for the video!
How do you make up the solution using the citric acid food grade? I have a bunch of it because I do Canning. I am just starting out with this. Mostly I will be flattening round 8g dead soft copper wire for cuff bracelets. Thank you 😊
Hello I was doing this kind of work at my last job of jewelry making. If you use tape it will stick to your roller. You measure the thickness of your metal while in between the rollers. Do this by tugging on it if it doesn't come out then it is at the right setting. Then add three notches. Add the pattern with no tape or packaging.
Telling the gauge of meal used would be helpful, Also I think if you sandwiched the card stock between the two pieces of copper I think it will eliminate the "motion" A micro torch is more than adequate to anneal copper of that size depending on the thickness if you know how to anneal, but if you just want to spend money its your call
I'm a jeweler and I anneal by heating with a torch that uses oxy and propane. I heat copper or silver to a medium red and hold it in my tongs until the red just fades out and dip in water. Then I pickle in pro pickel which is sodium bisulfate which is safe to use in a shop.
Third video of yours I have watched, and within the first minute I recognized the 3d printed gauge dials that was mentioned in a previous video. So I'm hooked already. Looks great, and really useful. I'm wondering if you got back to the person that asked you how much would you charge to make them a pair for them, if you have the time and want too. If so, I'm interested as well.

I'm interested in a set as well !
In the first work with sterling silver the rollers get marked, loosing flatness.
I've rolled Sterling Silver in it, flat sheets and wire and not noticed a problem
Really would have liked to watch Booring instructor
Llevatela calmada no hay pedo.
