I wanted to point out that the cuticle is not the tiny flap of skin that is cut, that is the eponychium and technically shouldn't ever be cut. The actual cuticle is the small white sticky stuff on top of the nail. It usually sits around the base of the nail near the eponhchium, but if it has been a long time since a manicure it will grow further down the nail plate. I personally still trim the eponychium, but still leave some attached as to protect my nail from infections. I've never had a nail infection and never make myself bleed when cutting it like they do in a nail salon. That is one of the reasons I hate going to salons. I trim mine because it grows pretty long since I sporadically doe manicures and takes up a lot of the base of my nail plate. So be careful when you do your manicure if you'd adamant about trimming the "cuticle," which is actually the eponychium.
You a real one for cutting your nails off and starting over. This also shows me how sure and confident you are about the tips you are giving us and that they are really healthy and they work.
Where I live, a washing machine is considered luxury so I hand wash clothes for two adults. My nails break like it's a competition; I broke 3 today 🥲. I love this video anyways, it prepares me for better days when I can afford a washing machine 😂
Girl you are reading my mind! Yesterday , my acrylic nail ripped off with most of my real nail with it. I literally said that’s it I’m not getting anymore fake nails. I’m tired of the drama and pain that comes with keeping them up
Same thing kinda happened to me. Last time I got my nails done they were so damage and fragile I said I will never spend money to ruin my natural body again
I LOVE glass nail filers. They are the best. I clip my nails back once a month. Long nails are not useful for me, as I am using my keyboard for work. Some ppl can still type well with long nails. Not me. I just keep mine healthy. Thanks for the uploads✌🏾👍🏾
Yes I cant wait for the stronger nail video. I don't want long nails, but still want some length. I'm tired of my nails getting snagged on books and ripping off. I ended up cutting what growth I had all down to nubs and starting again. About to do a pre dinner manicure
My nails grow fast, but my hair grows slow. I'm also clumsy so my nails are constantly chipping on random objects. I will definitely try your tips. Thank you, I love your videos!
Yeah same here but my hair grows slow because I suffer from Alopecia Areata. I’ve been going through this since I was 14. But other than that my nails stay long and strong and I never cut my cuticles. That’s why I don’t go to the Asian salons.
I was never able to grow my nails throughout my life until I started using cuticle oil everyday. Once it worked, I made my own and the rest is history!
@@IjeomaThePlantMama the most important oils for nails! Jojoba (should be the basis of EVERY cuticle oil. It’s the holy grail oil for nails), Sweet Almond, Olive Oil, Vitamin A and E oil, Grapeseed oil, Squalene

I can’t wait for you to post more videos about nails! I want to grow my nails.. hair.. and not just grow them, but make them stronger! I look forward to your next uploads!!
Another great video filled with knowledge that I did not know about! I learn sooo much from your videos, who knew about the glass files? Can't wait to get these and the buffers. Thank you so much for all your extensive research that you share with us. You are truly a blessing!
So I just started massaging my nails exactly like you suggested and I noticed my nails 💅 are starting to get the super shine to the I was so surprised my nails normally look so dull I can wait it’s only been 1week .
You have great genetics ma'am and beautiful looking nails! There ain't no regimen other than gel nails that could help my weak, flimsy, weirdly shaped finger toppers, and even then! Even then I can't have the gelled nails in a square shape if I want to keep them whole, because the corners WILL STILL. BREAK. 😃 I blame my daddy's genetics, because my mom grows beautiful long straight looking nails than will hold even without any polish!
I was like « why is Green Beauty making nail videos now? »🙄 Then click the video and…😮😮😮Where’s my notepad😅 So much knowledge girl! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thanks for sharing. I'm always shaping my nails as square oval. I agree with going to a spa (preferably an eco-friendly one) vs the heavy chemicals ones.
I like rounded nails as well. I tend to get a lot of cracks in my nail which later is the part where the nail will break. I just clip them all. I'm ok with it.
Hello it would be really interesting if you made a video on Keratin straightening treatments , like their composition and stuff and a DIY version of it that is effective as well! And also about other treatments that are done to straighten the hair ! Your videos are really helpful, thank you so much 🧡☺️
Thank you, Green Beauty 💚 I’d never heard of glass or stone cuticle erasers! I can’t buff my nail surfaces, I get wavy bumps, so I keep my nails & cuticles oiled.
I will definitely try this method because I probably do my nails more than twice a month. I try to keep a clear gel coat on top to keep them from breaking. But my nails always grow to a certain length n then break off.
Thank you for this, unfortunately I damaged one of my nails over 10 years ago due to the wearing the artificial nail. It bended when I was lifting an heavy object and ever since then, my nails has been growing out split in the middle. I’ve tried everything and I’m wondering if it’s internal. It frustrating because that is the only one nail that looks bad.
If you want a truly "GreenBeauty" alternative to your petroleum plastic nail buffers, try vegetable-tanned leather! It's all natural and biodegradeable.
My nails only grow to the length of yours then break. I have been thinking about getting an acrylic overlay what do you think or what would you recommend for stronger nails with less breakage?
I hate to disagree with Green Beauty but,It might be worth looking into learning how to do the acrylic/gels/polygels yourself. It's hard to find a GOOD manicurist! I've been getting acrylic manicures off and on for about 24 yrs now and the struggle is real😣 Nobody will be as gentle as you.
@@jduce68 thanks for the tip. I have everything to do acrylic nails but I can't master both hands or the bead. Im going to invest in a hand to practice with.

I’ve had short paper thin nails all my life, and now they are long -and those ridges are growing out too. Organ meats, raw cows milk, and eggs have done this for sure. ♥️

This has nothing to do with this video but do u happen to know oils or active ingredients that r good for dry scalp? I am looking for thé perfect mix to put in a deep conditionner cause my scalp tends to be dry after washing it out
I have a similar routine but I keep my nails really low now, I like the aesthetics of short nails on long nail beds, but then I discovered how annoying it is for your body to keep making something quicker than you want!😅 When I wanted long nails it seemed so slow, now that I don't, I file on Wednesdays and by Saturday I'm wondering if I had a lucid dream about filling my nails 3 days prior 😭 I can't wait till I get to that kind of contentment with my hair where I'm no longer feeling like I'm watching paint dry. The funny thing is just realised nails and hair may grow at the same rate, 0.5inches a month is about 1mm every three days. But I guess the expectation for hair make it seem slow.
You’re trimming the nail fold, that’s skin not cuticle. The cuticle is what forms underneath the nail fold, the white substance that you scraped off your nail. So gently pushing the skin fold back reveals the cuticle that you can remove.

FACTS. I’m not used to using a cuticle softener so, I definitely took off too much skin on the right side of the screen. I’ll pin this.
