    This was EXTREMELY informative. I've learned so much about the economy in the past 18 months from RUclips than any class I've sat in or anything I've watched on the finance channels.

    A stock market sector is a group of stocks that have a lot in common with each other, usually because they are in similar industries

    Interesting that McDonald's is considered discretionary while coca cola and Walgreens is considered a staple! Some families survive on McDonald's

    Very informative and well presented! Exactly what I was looking for.
    The two-category splitting seems the most common by far (cyclical vs non cyclical).
    Some rare cases add a third category: sensitive as you put it, or growth... the more I think about it, the more I bend toward two-category splitting as by definition, cyclical means sensitive 😊😊

    Another great video 👍 The resiliency, tranquility and consistency of real estate is exactly why I think it helps so much in a Max FI portfolio for keeping withdrawal rates up during downturns. Same goes for gold with it's dependability. That's why I've got 10% REITS and 20% Gold in my portfolio. I think it will just really help keep things pretty reliable in the long run without huge drawdowns.
    Side note: I do have to gripe a tiny bit about something in the video. For viewers (like myself) watching on a smartphone, the charts are really small and very hard to read. Just my 2¢

      Andrew, thanks for the constructive criticism! Perhaps in future it would be better to only have one chart on screen at any given time so that they would be a little easier to read when on a phone.

    • @andrewb9595
      @andrewb9595 3 года назад

      @@NextLevelLife Possibly, although I think having all 4 on screen at once could still have worked, but you'd have to take out the other art to make more room, then lay them out in a 2x2 pattern and enlarge them. Just a thought.

    • @NextLevelLife
      @NextLevelLife  3 года назад +1

      Yes, I suppose that probably would've been better. Otherwise they would've only appeared on screen for about a second.

      I was going to wait to ask this after your next video releases, but I've got 2 questions for you.
      1: Do you have anything on the books for using the Yale Endowment Spending Rule as a retirement withdrawal method?
      2: What are your thoughts on this idea? Break down total annual expenses into "survival" and "discretionary". Then use a constant inflation adjusted strategy for survival expenses and a separate portfolio using a flexible withdrawal strategy for discretionary expenses? Also implement a wealth ceiling on the constant inflation adjusted strategy to prevent excess wealth accumulation. Once the ceiling has been reached, transfer a percentage of excess wealth to the flexible strategy. Or is this basically the same concept as having a flexible plan with a floor and ceiling approach?

    • @NextLevelLife
      @NextLevelLife  3 года назад

      Andrew, I don't currently have anything out on the Yale Endowment Spending Rule. As far as your second question goes I'd have to build a spreadsheet to run the numbers and compare it to other approaches to be sure how it works and what its biggest pros and cons would ultimately be. It's possible that it would perform similarly to a flexible plan with a floor and ceiling given that on the whole you are altering your spending in some areas of the budget based on performance, but I'd have to look at it deeper to know for sure. Interesting idea though. I'll add it to my notes to research and see what I find out.

    Like a forest fire that wipes out the old trees to make room for new growth, bearish periods ultimately establish a new crop of stocks to buy and watch while setting the stage for a robust new uptrend.I have been reading articles of people that grossed profits up to $250k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist??

    Interesting, tranquility is where most should invest long term from what I am understanding here, gains would be slow but worth it. Maybe offset these gains with a short term position in the information technology and consumer discretionary industries ?

    I would have liked these to have all of these compared to an S&P 500 index fund for reference.

    I decided to buy all the sectors (except for Materials) separately through index funds and see if it works better than buying the S&P 500 and/or Nasdaq.
    Long-term, I think S&P 500/Nasdaq would be better, but short-term I think the separate indexes are better because some will outperform while others don't.
