Those 65's have a serious set of stones for what they are. I worked on a gasser many moons ago & thought it had some pep to it when it was done & I took it out for a spin. Can only imagine how nice that diesel is. Even with all the hours, I bet there's still a perky Perkins under that hood. Regards!
Good day Yea a neighbor up here had 65's thought the world of them W had 255 with 16-30's 500 lb cast wheels pulled good but smoked alot. 20,000 hrs is alot of work. Thanks
My dad was a big MF person when I grew up. New 65 gas, 2 late 135's, 2 late 165's, he didn't like 65 as much because of turning ability. All of them were bullet proof.
I used to run my neighbor’s MF65 as a kid. For what they are, they are a very powerful little tractor. That Perkins Diesel doesn’t mess around! And the TA was awesome too, although maybe that one doesn’t have it. Thanks for sharing. Boom! 💥
That's a row crop Fan. You can tell by the high front axle and the 38" rears. 52 HP handled 3-14" well but that multi power transmission was a death trap if you didn't know how it worked. And yes, brake seals were a problem but you can lock the pedals together to get both wheel braking. tremendous power take off tractor.
MF 65 was/is a great tractor. Reliable, easy starting and fuel efficient Perkins diesel. We have 2 MF 50 diesels, one with front loader driven off a front/crank mounted pump independent of the rear hydraulics. Both are power steering. Great tractors...👍
They are great tractors. I own a 1959 M-F 50 gasoline that I bought used in 1997, & it was the 1st tractor anyone in my family has ever owned. The best thing I did was install a electronic ignition; I use it for skidding logs; I put a external remote switch on to run a 25 ton log splitter, & I use her for grading our road sometimes. I talked my older brother into buying a new M-F 2317 EB in 2021, & I bought another one new in 2018 a M-F 1526 with a fel while both are great tractors, & very reliable; They don't have the character of the 1959 M-F 50; The styling of these tractor are sort of art deco IMHO. The M-F 50 will always be a keeper; As well as the M-F 1526. M-F Tractors= Mighty-Fine tractors.
When we retired our John Deere A's we bought an MF 65 diesel. Best tractor next to our JD's. What I liked about the Massey was the live pto Push the clutch half way and the tractor stopped but pto kept going but I agree on the brakes. To much travel in the linkage.
MF 65 was a very popular highly regarded tractor over here🏴 💪 certainly gave the other manufacturers a run for their money 💰 spent many hours on the seat of one o them👍
My dad had a MF50 gasser in the 70s. It had 12 forward gears and as the guy spreading lime in his lime truck on our farm said after I pulled him out of a wet spot on dads farm after I got home from school one day, " that is the pullinest tractor I ever saw". 1st low low gear with the tractor running wide open was about 1/2mph. Dad wouldn't ever let us drive it in 12 high high gear because it was so fast he thought we might have a wreck and get hurt or killed. And yeah it was super comfortable to operate.
We had 2 Super 65’s one high arch and one utility with a loader! Diesel pull 4-14’s mounted she had some nasty power ! I’d buy this one in a second! 4020 JD replaced ours as the workhorses of the farm
Yeah that is a high low shifter. I do know that much aboutassys. Neighbors around had a few. My dad had Massy Harriss'. Hated that old 33. Arm breaker steering. Log wagon. Other then that was a great tractor. It was a horse.
Grt tractors ,I had one worked it all the time,,I pulled 3/16,s ,2/18,s ,put 400 lb,s wheel weight,s on it in rear assume tractor ,cranked every time!!!!
The only complaint I had about my 65 before I sold it was I needed a 4x4 block under the seat so it would be high enough for me, other than that I like that the previous owner put 165 fenders on it.
We got a new massey with a simpsons diesel built on perkins blueprints i can plow 15 acres with a 4-16 with 5 gallons of fuel great engines and start anytime of year
I am looking at getting one of these tractors. A 59. The largest issue with it is the brakes. The brakes don't seem to actually start until I'm on the floor with the pedal. It may just be a adjustment issue?
What manufacture was that English diesel? I was hoping that you would look at the tractor on the end with the bucket. That looked like a MM industrial?
@@FarmallFanatic Caterpillar owns Perkins I’m pretty sure you could get parts for the engine. The tranny and rear end might have to be shipped from Canada or England off of e blow
Those are probably my favorite style of Massey Ferguson ever built.. I like the grills. Simple, but makes a bolt statement.
The grille strongly resembles their predecessor...the Massey Harris 333, 444, 555 grilles
All them little Massey's are good little tractors!
