Alex please make video series on Weak Squares, Weakness, Imbalances, how to exploit Weaknesses, How to take Space advantage, how controlling the center helps us throughout the Game.
This might sound stupid but you just taught me something that I can't believe hasn't ever crossed my mind. Although I know very well many variations during the opening...and my endgames I am very good at which I think comes from enjoying and being very good at puzzles buuuut I usually have bad middle game according to my reviews but you just nailed exactly why! I'm at the shooting range without a target. I've never thought about the fact that there are specific goals with each opening and I think that because the endgame is much more open that I can utilize my puzzle minded proficiency to overcome the disadvantages I allowed in the mid game. I have a feeling that I will owe you my many thanks soon in my struggle to climb beyond 1200 ELO
I just reposted this from main thread in hopes that it's got a higher chance of my thanks and appreciation for helping me discover a key element in my progression of continuous learning and understanding. Truly that was huge for me.
Every time I play my games after watching these videos, I wish I had Alex behind me saying "on this we have a nasty trap!" But I rarely see them, lol. Guarantee I would boost my rating by 500+ points if I could see those quicker. Something to strive for. Keep the videos coming! Love 'em.
This man is a LEGEND & continues to grow. Favorite vids are your Vienna, watched this thru twice. June 19 I'm getting your karo course. Thank you my guy!
Alex, I am a genuine old man, and so am hoping you outlive me by many decades. Whatever the case may be, you have already written the epithet for your tombstone: "And that having been said, it is really time to move on to the following game."
Alex, I absolutely love your videos and you're one of the main reasons I still enjoy chess and try to improve, but these video title and (sometimes) thumbnail edits drive me nuts! I'm like, "shit, did a new video drop..." haha.
I went from literally 100 to 1200 Elo by playing the Vienna only for white, if my opponent plays 1. e4, of course. It's great. I absolutely love it. This opening is solid and flexible, and after a pawn break with f4 and castling my rook has an open file.
1700s losing in less than 15 moves, meanwhile im playing 800 rated bullet with guys who know the copycat theory through 4... Qf6 5. Nd5 Qxf2+ 6. Kd1 Kf8! 7. Nh3 h5! 8. Qg4 Qd4! 9. d3 Be7! like smh these 800s are built different. Also that last game was simply beautiful.
If you can give time like for hours watching I mean this guy is literally the best on Yt, and I like Levy for both entertainment and short videos, and Remote chess academy for simplest and quickest explanation
Vienna has an interesting copycat line that transposes into the Italian. I wasn't lucky enough to see it this video so you'll have to do more Vienna videos.
the copycat variation is amazing because it looks completely fine for black after they take on f2, but then black has to find a bunch of only moves to not lose
30:10 "Pretty old" :D It's only in the world of chess where you hit 'middle age' just as your friends are throwing their college graduation caps into the air.
I love this opening. And it is fascinating, that it works against strong players too. In the main line I had a big advantage against one of the best Hungarian U12 (1950 FIDE). And a totally winning position against a strong 1900. (Both in classical)
@AlexBanzea I had an opponent report me for cheating after he played the copycat against me and got his queen and rook trapped in the same game. I laughed and told him to watch your videos to find out what he did wrong. Hopefully he's watching now. Cheers!
Alex can I say something man? I am retired and I watch most of the major chess tubers including you, but seriously if I were you I'd consider doing shorter videos like 30-40 mins max, it's crazy that people WILL watch 3 x 30mins in a row, but I think you'll do much better splitting your videos man. I'm NOT a tuber but a marketer. Take it onboard and give it a shot, I think you'll benefit dude. Take care.
I mean 23 minutes would have been a good slit point, 31 minutes etc. I'm positive you'll get more views this way, prove me wrong, start another channel ;)
From a marketing standpoint that's probably true but man it's pretty disappointing as when you watch a 20-30 minute opening video and they show you a couple lines then play a game and the opponent plays something completely different *cough gotham*. With this format you get a handful of games and have a better understanding of how to go about a variety of positions. IMO feels like a more complete video/tutorial.
The central pawns mow black down, and blacks king being stuck in the center can lead to a very dangerous position for black. It's actually a very cool line!
The educational and entertainment angles to your content are both top shelf. When you add to that your reactions to computer assessments of your moves and strategy... I can't stop grinning. Thank you. I place top 2-3% on online tournaments but I keep switching my repertoire because of you. You make chess fresh, and fun!
Excellent presentation, cheers. I have always like playing the Vienna game/gambit for a long time, its nice to see others who are interested in this opening as well.
hahaha the fried liver and antifriedliver and all that stuff is one of the reasons I usually end up playing the Vienna lol. Too lazy to memorize all the variations! But you explain cool and funny! If you make a video I'll watch it!
47:42 haha absolutely... I play the italian online from time to time so that I can understand it better but I haven't dared to play it in tournament yet (I'm in one now). Two days ago I played a Vienna with white without knowing much theory but appliying KID concepts to attack on the kingside (putting the king aside + pawnstorm) and won nicely!! We were both out of book :)
This might sound stupid but you just taught me something that I can't believe hasn't ever crossed my mind. Hi Alex, what i face the most against thé Vienna is the Sicilian. Could you do please a vidéo, an antidote against the Sicilian please? Thx a lot for all your content ! Greetings from France :)
That first game, whenever someone does the copycat variation on me, black doesn't ever move there queen to f6 when I play my games. I'm hoping one day to punish my opponent, but it seems every opponent I faced knows about the queen trap.
In game 3, move 6, it´s not better 6.e5 ?, playing with the same idea that in the gambit, ie the horse only retreating move it´s to his starting square?
56:41 there was a problem with Bc4, apparently black had d5 and Bxf5. I was thinking f6 was nice to ruin Black's pawn structure and discourage short castles, and indeed it was the best move.
Check out my 1.e4 playlist! ruclips.net/p/PLy7vABK_JsyOaLR478o7cRLqq_yn3K_jz

Showing the variations during the game in a picture-in-picture is so much extra work but SO COOL! Thank you for doing that.
Glad you like it!
Yeah it’s so helpful !
@@AlexBanzea absolutely!! thank you so much!!
Agreed, Alex is the best teacher for beginners I have found on RUclips :)
25:03 Qf3 is actually the move Gotham recommended in his course. He just don’t play his own recommendations sometimes.
Oh I didn’t know!
Every time I play my games after watching these videos, I wish I had Alex behind me saying "on this we have a nasty trap!" But I rarely see them, lol. Guarantee I would boost my rating by 500+ points if I could see those quicker. Something to strive for. Keep the videos coming! Love 'em.

BEST INSTRUCTOR on u tube by far! At least for a player of my caliber. Thanks Alex, going to try and give chess another go👍🏻
Just saw all your videos....its a lot of effort u put into this and it have all the qualities shaping upto be a good channel🔥🔥
Alex, I absolutely love your videos and you're one of the main reasons I still enjoy chess and try to improve, but these video title and (sometimes) thumbnail edits drive me nuts! I'm like, "shit, did a new video drop..." haha.
Wish I could get it right the first time! Haha
@@AlexBanzea In my elo range I encounter the sicilian defense a lot with Nc6. How do you respond to that with the Vienna opening?
Game 2 was just the clip I needed right now. Thank you brother ✊✊
Center game is good for miniatures and has no bail outs that are easy to memorize like Vienna gambit queen trade
Alex benza you are a real smart guy and funny killer humor man I love the Vienna because of you thank you

I played the First sigma move by subscribing to your channel long ago .
Thanks for the great content
29:00 what if he takes the bishop with his knight ?
Thanks great video. Would be cool to see the main lines of the Vienna Gambit
What opening is more devastating? The Scholar's Mate, of course! ;-)
13:00 I was looking at Bxh6 since move 13 waiting for you to play it😭😭
12:35 Qg3 so i can take on h6 with bishop would prob work at my elo (900) although game reviews say that i play like a 1500 constantly 🤷♂
This guy is amazing

Vienna is just one move different that the Kings Gambit. Which do you like better?
Can you make a video about the Italian opening pls
Vienna has an interesting copycat line that transposes into the Italian. I wasn't lucky enough to see it this video so you'll have to do more Vienna videos.
Thanks, great video man
The perfect video for my lunch break.
“When you don’t have a target you can shoot your friend, maybe you can shoot your wife” legendary 11:54
haha
Adding comments is a nice touch!
Would love to see a fried liver video 😂 Keep up the great work Alex!
Your jokes are getting better 😂😂
omg. the guy falling out of his chair! lololol
Great video but game 3 THATS not what BBC mean lol
Game 2 was like watching a kings gambit set up but with condoms
Am I dumb? What is the method now?
What do i play against c5?
That is the Sicilian. You can look for Sicilian responses to get openings for 1.e4 vs c5. I like playing the b3 Sicilian
mute this before trying to watch it or you will regret it.
BBC ☠☠☠
Lessgo Banzeus!
"A free piece, is a free piece." Words to live by.
Dude, you made a mini video of your calculations?!? That's amazing, I've never seen anyone do that
That was Chad move, respect
i agree! this is one way to go, if like me, still studying and learning this opening. and for that, thank you so much @AlexBanzea :)
Yes, I saw that on another video also, and thought it was a very nice touch indeed
10xbetter than Gotham
And not as arrogant….
+1… “the most Sigma move of your life”
What's crazy is that Alex doesn't have more subscribers!! I learn more from this free videos than all my paid courses.
the copycat variation is amazing because it looks completely fine for black after they take on f2, but then black has to find a bunch of only moves to not lose
"Queen's knight, start with the bishop;
King's knight, you do the gambit."
I will have to remember this simple formula.
30:10 "Pretty old" :D It's only in the world of chess where you hit 'middle age' just as your friends are throwing their college graduation caps into the air.
BBC = Big Beautiful Center. I'm officially dead
He also said “Big Boy Center” later lmao I died
Showing the variations during the game is so useful for a noob like me to visualise lines. Thanks a ton Alex.
The night "feels like unable to integrate into society" 😂
BBC he seed h😂😂😂😂 I like this guy funny entertainment as hell joker by nature there is and all soul in this young man 👏👏👏💪
I love this opening. And it is fascinating, that it works against strong players too. In the main line I had a big advantage against one of the best Hungarian U12 (1950 FIDE). And a totally winning position against a strong 1900. (Both in classical)
this is enlightening, thanks alex!... the BBC, big beautiful center lol
The fat kid falling from his chair was hilarious hope to see that used again
@AlexBanzea I had an opponent report me for cheating after he played the copycat against me and got his queen and rook trapped in the same game. I laughed and told him to watch your videos to find out what he did wrong.
Hopefully he's watching now. Cheers!
Best chess teacher out there on youtube ..thanks Alex❤
Finally Vienna, love it
The opening is sooo goood that you can play 9 games instead of usual 3-5, lol

the bishop sac line at 9:30 is very interesting... like white sacs a full piece but is still somehow +1 according to the computer 🤔
The central pawns mow black down, and blacks king being stuck in the center can lead to a very dangerous position for black. It's actually a very cool line!

I like how intuitive and natural the vienna game is. I need to try this more often. My old opening was the italian game
Excellent presentation, cheers. I have always like playing the Vienna game/gambit for a long time, its nice to see others who are interested in this opening as well.
take the piece and his dignity too 😂
Really great video. Very instructive to see so many games in a row in this opening. Thank you!
Day 2 watching rating climb playlist ,but gonna skip cuz ive watched this a few days ago
Why no new videos lately? Working on your Chessable course Alex?
"You can shoot your friend, you can shoot your wife"-Alex Banzea
oh boy, better have a target and keep the wife safe lol
Alex, can I hope you will do something on kings gambit? Nepo course has pretty bad explainaition. But your courses never disappointed me
Legend, thanks for all the coaching videos 😊
In game 8, didn’t you have a bishop sacrifice for a free queen?
Beautiful explanations. Super helpful. I really appreciate the extra window! Thanks.
These man pumps out quality content
Excited for your caro-kann course
30:20😭😭
21:58 pick up the queen and honestly his dignity too 🤣🤣
Very interesting content, but extremely annoying form of presentation.
Best videos ever

Wich Opening do you think is the best in 1100 (nice Video)
Vienna, London, Caro Kann, Ponziani, etc
"Old and retired"... says a 23 year old young guy. :D
everytime he says bbc I cannot get hold of myself
Alex out here shooting wives for not having a target 😂

As a french and vienna player i enjoy ur videos i like to see the midgame ideas.subscribed
My study group XD
Happy to see a new Vienna upload!
In game 3, move 6, it´s not better 6.e5 ?, playing with the same idea that in the gambit, ie the horse only retreating move it´s to his starting square?

Coach, can you make tactical black opening?
Watch his Caro-kann stuff. Not always tactical, but there is a certain line you can watch out for, Tartakaur, that gets fairly tactical.
I wish you took the time to teach us king's gambit. You have the most entertaining teaching style on RUclips by far
I think this video might be the most practical guide, cuz we saw all popular lines with real matches
This Peter Parker teaches well ❤
