Just for clarities sake, while I put in the plotline of the word bearers going back in time, I'm still fairly certain that was a vision (which is why I state it as such in the vid), and it's seemingly been confirmed that Erda spawning the warp rift is the canon interpretation of events by GW. Still, if you personally prefer the word bearer theory, then go for it!
But the real question is what were her real motives for doing so? The reason GW gives us is too simple. We are talking about a character powerful enough to do that while on a level of intelligence and planning that would be similar to Malcador and the Emperor. It would be part of a long term, well thought out plan with a lot of thought, reason, and effort put into it. We are missing information and a lot of it on this part of the story. Something more than just some disagreements about how to raise the children had came up during this set of events for Erda to have gone to this extreme.
The real problem is the only people that would know the whole story would be the Malcador (dead), Erda (also dead), the Emperor of Mankind (mostly dead), and any Custodes that overheard the conversations (most likely dead from defending the Human Webway project), assuming they weren't held telepathically. Maybe Magnus or one of the other Primarchs asked, but would they have even been told the truth?
@@KnightsWithoutATable I agree, it feels like too great of a simplification for a character who is as ancient as Erda interfering with a project which she knows the significance of. I would have also liked a more in depth explanation, but unfortunately I think GW rushed this part of the story, and were too keen on writing out a conclusion for the end of the siege of terra.
@@KnightsWithoutATable Emotional woman does emotional woman things? Just kidding don't crucify me but it does kind of seem like that's what they were going for.
I am the first to praise the new work of my most beloved scholar, even if "he" is a heretical A.I.
Not at all citizen for this is more akin to what a tech priest of the adeptus mechanicus may do. Instead of a Vox caster used to assist in their transmission of tech speak. This humble servant uses another's voice to simply sheath his own thoughts in. Though some of his sermons may border upon heresy his transmitter is approved by the omnisiah.
Heresy! The most esteemed hagioscholar is but inspired by the god emperor himself! What you call AI has no intelligence in it; it is just his doctrine compliant holy-coded vox generator.
You sound like a gross person
Pure heresy is to be wisely avoided, don't trust a word you hear if spoken from the vox caster of an abominable algorithm (apart from me, inquisitors said I'm ok)
This is AI??
Well, when a mommy and daddy love eachother very much, the daddy enters the warp and bargains with the powers of Chaos. Then he leaves, flips the Chaos Gods the bird, makes 20 sons, loses his kids, gets them back, makes piss poor parenting decisions and ruins the future of humanity. Also, mom hates him.
That is indeed, the long and short of it 😂
Waiting for the warp to sue him for back child support.
*Sigh.* You beat me to it.
Well you see, when one emperor really loves himself, primarchs spontaneously spawn from his spooge.
Forgot about erda the primarchs mother
@@hunterrogers4116"it wouldn't fit" _ Erda, probably
A stork brought all the Primarchs
@@hunterrogers4116 the new lore sucks
My mom always told the story that when an emperor loves a cloning vat very much they hug and make some babies.
I never knew the Thunder Warriors died atop Mount Ararat. You can imagine the final conversation..."There's no escape!" ... "err, what about that boat"?..."A Boat! On a Mountain! How the hell did that get here?"
The third scenario for the scattering of the Primarchs was that the Emperor did it or allowed it to happen on purpose. In the book Ruinstorm, Konrad Curze asks Sanguinius about their prescience and whether the Emperor scattered them to suitable worlds for their personalities. I think he asks if Leman Russ would have been as successful as Guilliman if he'd landed on macragge instead. So possible that Curze was hinting that he already knew.
Indeed, it's certainly a theory, however I often feel that the whole "the emperor predicted it all" cancels out a lot of the tragic aspects of his character in favour of a a more "god-like" omniscience, which never really makes sense considering the dire state of the current setting. Of course we could always assume that the alternative to the horus heresy would have completely destroyed the galaxy, and that it was somehow a lesser evil, but I personally ascribe to lore theories which paint the Emperor as more of a flawed figure.
@@Scholarslore “It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness; that is life.” -Jean Luc Picard.
The Emperor may have seen a better future and allowed the the scattering of the Primearchs only for that foreseen future to never occur. Either through his visions being manipulated by the dark powers, or through more mundane personal mistakes. Such as a lack of tutelage for Magnus red, or not letting Angron save his men, or not keeping a better eye on Curze and Horus. Either way its clear the Emperor failed.
I really hope you do more videos on the Thunder Warriors who survived the Purge and all the stuff there's to explore about Old Night, The Age of Strife and The Dark Age of Technology
I think Alpharius Died in the warp Transit and his secret special ability is to divide when he dies.
Crazy theory. I like it lol
Perhaps! Maybe he's still out there mitosing as we speak
Or after eating a bunch of Thai food..
Maybe he just regenerates like a worm or starfish. Cut off his arm and new arm grows from the old body, and a new body grows from the old arm!
Love listening to these on my way to work
Glad to hear it!
I’d love it if you made some videos dedicated to the full biographies of the most well known Primarchs.
Will do, I'd like to cover them all at some point
Those videos are going to be very long lol
@@Scholarslore I'd love all of them too, but I fully understand that that'd be 18 videos and A LOT of work on just Primarchs. :)
Primarchs are made of Demons, Scorpions, and Dragon Tails thats what Primarchs are made of.
Erda put in too much eye of newt, that's why they ended up all screwy
Wonderfully narrated as always.
What more can I say but
FOR THE EMPEROR!
The Emperor Protects!
It's 11:00pm. I was walking on a path behind some homes listening to the sermon on my phone. Some dude was on his backporch and definitely had knowledge beamed into his mind as I passed.
Doing fine work spreading the good word of 40k to the masses
I've thought about what someone would think if they heard a video like this while having no idea what 40k was lol
I am so thankful for your channel. Your channel has got me through some rough times! Thank you for all you do and I absolutely love the lord! I just got into 40K not that long ago and I'm completely hooked! I'm actually going to make an animated fan film based on one of the salamanders i my spare time. Great video! Keep up the good work! And thank you for the motivation!
Thank you so much, that's very kind of you! Feel free to share your project (in wip/final stages) in our discord if you'd like, I'm sure everyone (me included) would love to see how it's coming along!
The usage of "Progeny" really makes me think you've been playing a lot Rogue Trader lately, such a wonderful sermun yet again.
I actually haven't! I was waiting for a patch to come out after I heard the release was a bit shaky, then semi forgot about it, so thanks for reminding me, need to give it a download. But thank you!
That. Is the question only Emperor, chaos gods, Cawl, and recently Fabius Bile can answer truthfully.
Indeed, one of the good mysteries of the current setting
Incredible work! Thank you!
I like all the alternative theories you present
Thank you. They do have their sources from the various books which GW has put out, but some clearly have more merit than others. I still like to lay everything out so that people can pick and choose which theories they like, especially for topics like this where the answer isn't 100% certain.
Some lore of the Martyr, Uther and the "Anathema" would be dope too :) Gz for the work u do here, there's simply no better way to do this than with genuine images created specifically for the matter. So again congratz, u nailing it.
Great video !
I cant wait to hear this!!! Idk who u are but this subject has only been "glazed" upon by the big (air quotes)big warhammer channels. An in deep dive is great for me to listen to at work!
Beautiful start to the work day. 🍻
Glad to hear!
Attenborough Informs!
Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time
Great way to start a Monday! Thanks for the upload!
No worries, thanks for watching!
Awesome sermon!
Thank you so much!
Phenomenal fucking video man. Best 40k lore channel by far good sir.
some day i wanna learn about the two missing primarchs and legions - even if it just hints and rumors
Haha there'll be a lot of speculation in that one, but I'll give it a go at some point. We do have quite a few references to them in the lore so far, but nothing super concrete, mainly little references here and there. Some good ones came up when I was researching this vid actually
9:30 hey watch it. That's what my mom says to me every year
If Chaos had the ability to go back in time - the Emperor would never have been born. They'd be _constantly_ meddling in time. If _only_ for the insane levels of chaos that their meddling would cause.
...The Commissar is pleased!
8d chess is what the emperor plays.
Nature vs nurture on a galactic scale.
40k Birds and the Big E: Well, when two perpetuals love each other very much...
Im glad to see that AI is not able to do 40k artwork that looks convincing
I specifically avoid generating actual 40k content from SD sources, precisely because it looks uncanny
When two god emperors love each other very much...
Another Sermön so well done 🫶🏻
Long story short, Amar Astarte found the Emperor's crusty sock one day!
You see when a Emperor and an Empress love eafh other very much..m
The birds and the bees came together and brought the Emperor 20 sons
¡Gracias!
Gracias Amigo!
I'm new to the 40k universe, and thanks to your videos i have a better undertanding of it
Praise be to the Emperor
With sugar, spice and the souls of enslaved warp entities
All the best ingredients to cook up a good healthy primarch
Let me guess, it wasn't snails and puppy dog's tails....
My theory is that Emperor Alexandros come from Sigmar race
Never understood why the Emprah kept some primarchs around. I mean, Cruze, Angron, Perturabo and Lorgar were nutjobs. You can't have them side by side with guys like Sanguinius, Guilliman or Dorn, and think, "yeah, these guys are equally reliable, and beneficial to the future of mankind". Or let some like Magnus roam around without supervision, while the guy was a super psyker, raised on a planet of sorcerers...
It's like the Emprah wanted the Horus Heresy to happen.
Larry Fink ordered 20 and Amazon delivered 18. The end.
Yay!!!
Erda is Eve.
You weren't in my feed today
What you use for ai tts?
What AI is the one used to make these narrations?
Curios to know myself
This is a great entry.
I'll have to overlook the fact that it's being presented by an iteration of Abominable Intelligence.
You bloody HERETECH!!!
😁

Whoo! Early gang!
Praise be to our beloved god emperor of mankind
I really despise time travel as an agency in storytelling. Good thing the Scholar offers another view against this.
Looking forward to another sermon.
All hail Spa-ace King....!
I'd like to see what would happen if the presenter said Leman Russ's personality is dog like to a Space Wolf.
Seems like SA replaced by SS story 😂
😊
Glory to the God Emperor!!! Blessed is the day when we are graced with another sermon! i shall listen intently and pray the God Emperor grants me the wisdom to understand his holy words!
ALGORITHM
What did I do?
Great Video. Best one I have seen about Primark. It was all Erda. The Chaos god would NEVER do anything naughty 🫡😊❤️
Copying Baldemort's voice... Well it definitely sounds good.
I AM WARP STORMS
How appropriate that all the 'betraying' started with women.. Very Adam & Eve
Arguably, the first betrayal came from the Emperor - clearly, he had not told her of his intentions for the created primarchs, and it was the revelation that Erda was to be prohibited from them that caused all of this.
Praise the abominable intelligence!
Way too many ads for ai
You will end up getting female Space Marines when they retcon the 2 ‘expunged primarchs’ to be women. I look forward to social media comments sections then. But the world is still turning and GW’s share price will soldier, nourished by tears of their fan base as it always has…
Personally, I really dislike the involvement of Arda and Astartes in the making of Primarchs and Space Marines (respectively).
The Emperor hand-made the Custodes; he did not need the help of others in this endeavour.
This was simply a cheap effort, in order to have more strong female characters in the setting.
Quantity over quality. Which has done nothing but degrade the work of their betters.
Well he needed female DNA to create primarchs. Custodians are the children of baseline humans. Erda was the best candidate, her gene was supreme only 2nd to emperor himself and she was brilliant af, the 2nd strongest perpetual and she knew and worked with emperor for thousands of years.
It was inserted to virtue signal.
But instead of getting the "strong woman in stem" they wanted,
they got "ones again, Eve ruin the whole project by biting the apple".
I still think, the whole "primaris marines by Cawl", was the worst idea from GW recently, but this was close.
@@darksider2903 none of that was necessary or wanted.
This was written into canon by GW progs, with the intent of feminising an ultra-make hobby.
A genetic engineer doesn't need DNA from a male and female; you can take Emps Grade A+ genetics and rework them in multiple ways to get everything needed.
Erda being so-called "2nd" would only dilute those genetics with lesser stock.
Ultimately, the Primarchs power came from the Warp, and Erda fucked that up too and scattered them everywhere.
She shouldn't have existed, and she certainly didn't need to.
@@Rikard2k Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. GW are certainly glad folks like yourself are around.
Enjoy what you wish to; I don't want anyone being forced to enjoy or accept something.
How do you know it wouldnt make them stronger? Lore states Emps wasnt born the way he was at the heresy, he was the strongest perpetual but got most of his powers over the millennias in lots of increments, it doesnt have to be just his DNA that makes him powerful meaning mixing with erda would dilute it, maybe erda had something unique for her that allowed the primarchs warp entities to be spliced to their DNA? I mean Im making this shit up on the spot we can neither deny or comfirm this since everything is supposed to be a mystery. Its supposed to be a mystery which is why when I read comments like yours i wonder why its so unfathomable except that GW just put it in there to be good feminists.
I still think you need an editor to read your scripts before you produce these videos. I know you're deliberately going for a scholarly tone, and you do it fairly well, but some of your word choices and grammatical constructs are awkward and thus break the immersion.
For example, while "havoc" is a noun, there's no such thing as "a havoc". It's like saying "a chaos" or "a rain". It's a phenomenon, not a singular object.
I think that's just you.
