Only the external shots were taken on site. I remember climbing the Qutb Minar as a child in the 70s, and every so often we stopped at these long slit windows. You don't see them in this song. The tower also has four balconies, one for each storey. Those are not shown - the couple go straight to the top. It still makes me feel nostalgic, though.

This is not real Qutub Minar. They could not fit in cameras inside the Qutub Minar stairwell. So they had to create a look-alike set for shooting purpose.
This kutub minar was created in studio, as said by Devsaam in one of his rare interviews.
Thank you for updating the information .
This is in fact a set.. Authorities did not allow the unit to shoot inside the Qurub Minar. So artificial setup was, made in Mumbai only.. 🙂

I equally enjoyed this song in black and white but in color this is phenomenonal. Absolutely at different level. And another thing I have common in this is beautiful background of Kutub Minar and I am among the few lucky people who had visited this historical place up to second floor. Which is now a days is closed for the visitors. That is my bonding with this song.
