That’s what you call a real automobile the best car ever made in my opinion in the world
My 82 240D is the same color as yours. I didn’t think mine was in all that great of condition when I bought it, but I started working on it and discovered it was really in nice condition. Put on a new water pump and radiator, adjusted the valves, stopped a few spots of surface rust before it became an issue, and the little car just amazes me. It still has a few things I need to do to it, but I could drive across country in it today and I feel it would be just fine. I also have a 1982 300D and a 1979 300SD, I’m restoring them one piece at a time. 👍😊
I daily drive my 1981 240D manual with 345K miles on it. So far I've managed to do all maintenance on it myself. The 123 240D is the best car of the 20th century for sure. Probably the best car ever made.
OM616 and OM617 are one of the best engines ever made!

I have commented on several other uploads. I finally found my w123. It's a 1980 240D 4speed! No sunroof. ZERO rust. The original paint needs to be buffed out but she runs very well. Keep up the good work and I'll send you updates.

Hey Vito, great 240d! I have an 85 240d with a 4 speed manual and it is the best. Absolutely love the manual a/c and windows. Couldn't get any easier to work on. Currently car is on jacks in the garage, replaced all of the rubber bushings, brakes, etc. Can not wait to get back on the road. I have been watching your videos to keep me motivated. Keep up the great work!

I just bought a w124 250 D 1988 with the amazing OM602 5 cylinder diesel :) some rust to fix on it specially on the front jack points left side, but its structure seems to be pretty nice. I'm really happy with it even if i have some work to do in it. Thanks for sharing this nice driving video, pretty cool those w123 :) and i totally agree with you about saving those wonderfull cars

I just bought two weeks ago a w 1 2 3 300 d, 99% rust free runs and drives need some TLC cool video thanks for sharing
Please take great care of that car and give it all the love! Also, pull the carpets up and check for water leaks after it rains. Remove the seats and check for rust on the floors and fix if there's any, especially on the rear seat mounts. Remove both left and right trunk liners and inspect for water leaks and rust. Fix if there's any. I have plenty of videos on this subject! Thanks for saving Classic Benzes!

Never had a W123. I have a W115 240 D and a W116 300 SD. I look forward to driving one of them everyday. I would like a W123 CD. They are addicting.

i have a 85 turbo 123 and it runs weird it will run fin and run great the out of the blue sounds like its down a cylinder and wants to die anyone have any idea what it could be i love my car and don't want to get rid of it i love my car just i cant find out what's wrong when it starts wanting to die my thought was injector stuck open but it doesn't smoke when it happens
The injector may be spraying incorrectly. Check the injector spray pattern or just swap it with another one to see if it fixes the problem. Another common issue could be a worn out prechamber. Make sure your fuel system is good. Do a diesel purge and replace both fuel filters.
Sometimes I've seen a vacuum shut off valve get stuck and it wouldn't let the engine run. Remove the vacuum line going to it and restart the engine.
Do a valve adjustment and then check your compression. I feel like you're having fuel delivery problem. But just check all those things.
