Great video. If you want to target scamps more, you have to change your jigging technique. Don't reel up after every stroke. You want to keep the jig as close to the bottom as you can. Lifting and reeling takes your jig away from the strike zone too fast, hence why you were catching so many smaller almacos and bobos rather than groupers species. Hope this helps
Oh yeah I agree with you, I would jiggle right off the bottom and when nothing would hit after working it around the reef I would retrieve it higher to get bites.
Awesome catches Nate - man that wrench rig it’s crazy - but I guess if it shines it can easily be mistaken for a fish - happy thanksgiving to you and family - tight lines brother - respectfully PuraSal Angler - 🙌🏻
Just a quick question for you, I notice that you always attach your jig with the hook to the top,,, is there a reason for this as I’ve always attach to allow the hook on the end or bottom? Thanks in advance n keep these great videos coming!! 😉👍🎣
You can rig it to each side of the jig and get a little different action from it but imo you should always attach your leader to the split ring in order to let the jig flutter.
