Taking notes on this is extremely hard to do, and he explains so well. I feel like I'm above accelerated classes. Okay, so you kick your left sweeping leg, then a tenth of a second later kick you other leg, then another tenth of a second later, put your other hand down and push off the ground. Congratulations, 1/4 of a flare. You teach fast, but easy. Thanks for your existence pigmie!
This is the best tutorial I've ever seen on any technical move! From the way you record sound separately, to your slo-mo to your graphics overlays! I havent done any breakdancing since I was a teen in the 80's but you're inspiring me to get back in to it and learn new moves! :-)
Thanks bboy pigmie. Your RUclips tutorial videos has helped me a lot. I’ve watched and learned this back in 2013 so it’s almost a decade already and I came back and I’m just watching you flare videos cause I’m trying to get back to it again haha much love man
Wow so clear and explained perfectly. When I was learning the flare my coach didnt tell me much. He only included the kicking part and raising my waist high. He didnt tell me to raise my arm im starting with, and all after that. After almost 5 months, i had only done one flare. Thats it. Just one. Then I had an injury in my back and left breakdance for almost two years now. But im still flexible and able to continue. Oh and thx to u since ur giving a bit of inspiration for me to continue breakdance. Subscribed !
I recommend that anyone who's trying to learn this record themselves if they have a web cam or otherwise. Comparing your movements to his is really helpful, and lets you see things about your form that you don't necessarily know you're doing. My biggest problem in learning this has been that I'm leaning too far forward when sweeping my kicking my legs around the front. It makes your hips drop and kills your momentum. You really have to lean back and keeps your hips up.
my dream is to learn the breakdance flare and airflare. But were i live there ist a shit of lessons so i will have to self practice and learn from the tutorials. You my friend are the one that explained better. I will start practicing and dont give up
hey guys ! just taught i might let you know that this guy is amazing ! his tutorials are the best and if you have a question i suggest asking this guy does his best to reply and gives the best help out there ! if he helped you be sure to subscribe to this guy , he deserves it !
Just to add to the helpful tips: when pigmie123 tells you to hold yourself up during the initial swing/kick motion it really takes a lot of strength of your shoulders to do so. So the exercises that can help are things like pulling on stuff with your shoulder muscles, cuz you're gonna be essentially pulling the ground to keep your body from shooting outward after the first swing. No need to go to a gym, just grab a wall or some railing.
hey pigmie! watched this vid years back and that's why i know how to flare to this day and planning to progress even more, thanks for the awesome vids :)
I'm going to start incorporating these into my workouts. Looks like killer arm, shoulder and core work... plus after months of practice I'll have a cool skill to display. thanks man.
I have watched alot of your videos an they are very useful! Has helped me master tricks an overcome the fears of them! Keep making amazing videos. You just earned a subscriber!
If you're little but overweight it should be fine, if you're too overweight then you have a lot of reasons to lose weight, and you should. Google how and figure it out in this case, it's worth it.
thanks to pigmie's video my flare has improved 50% today now I have a good bass to work from, I noticed he placed his arm close to his thigh before sweeping thus giving the power that gives the lift, this was my missing piece to the puzzle, look at his side shot you ll see what I mean, this really helped my flare though he didnt mention his arm being close to his thigh
Yeah that's good advice. I'm comparing my movements to his and my starting sweep is my problem, which is why I can't get around to the front. I'm gonna practice the starting sweep like he demonstrated in the video.
pigmie you are the coolest tutorial dude evr keep it up i learned how to flare from you and only you from my teacher it was taking for ever but from u i lernt it in like 1 week you should start real life bboy lessons ur really good
I'm 19, I'm practicing freezes and stabs right now and I'll start practicing the windmill in 2 or 3 days. I just made up my mind to learn breakdance moves a few days ago and I never even thought about being too late. You know, a bboy, I think his name was either Pocket or Kill, or was it Cloud? Whatever.. It was a really good world-class bboy, he was about 19 or 20 years old and started at 14. I really don't think you're too late. You might be 30 and still in time! Cheers, and good luck :)
Thanks for answering dude :) I asked because when i was training i felt the flex, sliding movement, and hip movement where great but i didn't feel my arms firm enough so i started training push up's, but if you say i don't need them well im just gonna keep doing the push up's just for fun/ and to finally get a firm body. THanks :D
josh we used to get cardboard boxes and layed them out flat on grass. if you can get it lino like this guy has is really good and don't forget to use surface cleaner on it to make it slip easier
Wow, best teacher on youtube! you earned a sub and a like! Keep it up! :D Okay, so i have a question. What do you recommend practicing this on? I don't really have much room in my house.
that is the best flare tutorial i have ever watched but i need to know the physical preparations for this move for example i need to know how much push upss it should be done to know that my arm is tough enough for such move, how range of flexibility i should reach also etc guide me pleasa as this will help me alot all my respect pigemie
Thanks for all the awesome flare tutorials. I can do 5flares after 1 year of practice. I think you should cover legs & hips motion (rotation) because If you can't control momentum in your legs you can't do flares.
man my flares are great but i have the toughest time getting my hips that high. But seeing your video i have a better understanding on how to get there.. thanks.
What up everyone this is 2016! be sure to subscribe! I've got tons of NEW content TUTORIALS and PROGRESSION videos out and being produced!
