That a good overview of peripheral I/O

Perfect subject. We had a project 3 days ago whit this setup. Thanks and looking forward to the next.

Thanks! Yeah, distributed I/O is actually used A LOT in industry (almost everywhere) and a very important topic

Nice. Good video. In simple, it's just an RTU. Prepare a video about redundancy expecially software part. Your explanation skills are amazing.

Amazing how much i learn from this channel, Excellent explantion. I will have to add ET200m to my PowerPoint. Your Use of powerpoint is quite refreshing. I'm only stumped by one thing: i want to believe that the the more I/Os are present you need a similarly specced PLC. The ET200m or similar I/O devices won't magically extend your PLCs documented I/O capability limit. Am I correct sensei?

Of course! Every PLC has a different limit in how many and which peripherals can be used. Generally: The stronger your PLC, the more I/O devices can be used. The amount can be found in the datasheet of the PLC's
Also for example, if you have a standard PLC you won't be able to use safety functionality in safety I/O's and so on

Exactly that's what I am looking for. I have an ET200 and a device from Kunbus (Kunbus-coms). Unfortunately I can not go online with the Kunbus device although I imported the gsd file

very good video. is this the same as remote io? both machines have their own remote io. and machine 2 profibus is connected in machine 1. i hope u can include this in your explanation. thanks ahead

Vielen Dank! However, I do have a question. Wouldn’t this be considered remote I/O rather than distributed I/O? To my understanding distributed I/O is when you have another field bus involved. For example, a main PLC connected to another type of controller which uses a fieldbus to control field devices (actuators, etc). On the other hand, the ETS200 you have in the presentation is not using a fieldbus to activate the outputs. Maybe you can clear up the difference between remote I/O and distributed I/O. Can’t you just use an interface module (IM) with the I/O instead of the ETS200 SP module?

As a beginner I have a suggestion for a video on memory. I am confused of when to use what and where. There is Tags, Global memory, Input memory, Output, Temp, In-Out etc. Some of them can be toggled and some not. I know this i a huge area.

Still some way until there! And I'm not a really big fan of PCS7 (worked with it for ~1 year and I kind of just did not like it 😅)
