I kinda wish she would come back, but older? I think it would be interesting, she's older now, doesn't remember Sully. She has forgotten as she got older and then she accidentally rediscovers the world of the monsters and Sully. Thinking it was all just a dream and wasn't real. Or everyone thinks she's crazy, cause she knows the world exists and no one believes her.. until she finds something to prove it's real.

Well with the final episode ends with randall still escape from prison,if the TV team decide to do season 3 he might be the major antagonist to do a revenge on Boo try kidnapping her plotline.Who knows.I think the main reason is just because the story direction of season 2 is not about Mile and Sulley but Tyler and Val's work experience.Seadon 2 is what I hope season 1 would be,so I like it a lot.Deep down I do hope Boo can appear again one more time.

To me, the best scene would be the moment Tylor scared Ben.
In a way, it manages to call-back to a previous moment but adds more context in the same situation.
In Sully's scene, it's meant to bring sympathy. But in Tylor's scene, it's meant to bring empathy, as we start seeing how Tylor felt after scaring a kid he's bonded with. We don't see Tylor's breakdown as the viewer, but as Tylor.
Moreso, Sully's moment is a sudden jumpscare in his usual work to move things along. But in Tylor's case, it's literally a conundrum of events that spiraled beyond his control, as all that rage, frustration, and stress ultimately pent up into one huge reaction that destroys his view of scaring. The roar itself isn't even a professional one. It's one from extreme anger building up until he lost it, as he roared twice and didn't stop when Ben was scared the first time. In a way similar to a father mistreating his son the same way HIS father mistreated him, realizing too late that he's continuing a cycle of pain. All made more heartbreaking when his fellow co-workers don't even TRY to realize he's not happy the slightest. It hits home real hard.
If anything, it truly shows that Tylor is indeed Sully's successor.

I like how this show managed to blend Inc. and University. Disney has weirdly always treated the two like they’re separate brands (if something is MU themed then it can’t reference Inc. and vice versa) so it’s nice to see them bring MU characters forward in time like this.

One concept that after some thought we never really saw was that while monster inc was doing the whole laugh power thing, other companies were still using scream power which would have caused problems on both sides. What I mean is say one kid gets a monster from monsters inc and the next it’s fear co and it’s just this merry go round type problem where the kids are gonna be worried or scared of who is going to visit them that night. Could be a cool plot point to bring up or even show for a possible episode.

I think they wrote themselves into a pretty big corner because as far as we can tell, Johnny has no reason not to listen to Tylor about the whole, laugh + scare = nuclear bomb especially if he is going to trust Tylor with the knowledge that they are committing multiple felonies. Honestly, the easiest fix should have been that Tylor found out by accident by knocking over a canister and realizing inside is laughter or something.

I loved season 2, but I hated what they did with Johnny at the end. If I were to rewrite the last episodes, Johnny would have genuinely changed and is just a traditionalist who refuses to change the classic ways and took in all the former scarers from MI because he hated to see their potential as scarers go to waste and has a very clashing view to the way Sully runs his company (Therefore, they remain rivals), and Randall was the only true villain who wanted to sabotage both companies and their CEOs (Because he was still spiteful after what Johnny did to him in MU, and Mike and Sully for obvious reasons), and destroy Monstropolis by combining their energies together. And both he and Sully are forced to work together to stop Randall.

    • @benceszarvas5464

Still Johnny saved Randall so he owes him. And all of the stealing was Johnny's plan because his company was weak and similar ro Waternoose, didn't want to ruin his father's legacy or business.
On the other hand unlike Waternoose,he didn't hurt anyone only because they stopped the reactor before it could've been blown up. And he enjoyed Mike and Sully being arrested so in a way he is still a soft villain.

honestly, i was very dissapointed the pulled a "nice guy is actually the villian" twist with Johnny. Having had him as an honestly better monster than he was before would have been a good way to show that people can grow and change. Him suddenly becoming a huge jerk in the very last episode feels out of nowhere rather than a well plotted plot point... in that case, they shoul dhave built up Randall as the villian from episode 1, or make Johnny look as if he is gonna be the villian, but then we learn it is Randall.
It would have been a much more impactful twist in many ways, and it would have made Randall´s comeback much more memorable, because he feels like a an afterthought tbh, which is a shame because many people waited for his return and it was just very underwhelming

    • @moonquartzs
      @moonquartzs 6 месяцев назад +1

I agree completely, however it seems like the writing towards the end of the season devolved into amateur child antics. Johnny has a family and he cares about them just as much as he sees Fearco as an extension of his family. It makes sense for him to hold grudges and subtly mock Monster Inc's new laugh energy in the name of competition in a heated market, but recruiting Randall was the worst way to go about it. It severely undermines Johnny's portrayal of being a changed 'Monster'. It just shoves a horrible message that "villains never change" which encourages prejudice directly under that idea.
It's almost like the writing forced itself in a position where it became a checklist of "how to return to the status quo" and it failed spectacularly. Tylor just goes back to being a jokester and all the conflict from previous episodes just disappears.

Why doesn’t Sully ever resent Mike for having what he once had in Boo? Like, honestly, he was told that he could never see her again, and yet now even Tylor has a child that is on a first name basis with him. I would definitely believe that Mike has something similar, especially with the baby from season one, so why don’t we ever have a scene where it shows just that, that Sully was basically told no, you can’t have that, but in the same vein, so very soon after that moment, other monsters have what he just got rid of.
Not to mention, Sully just lost his dream job, too. He’s stuck working at a job that he was not prepared for at all, much like Tylor himself, and his partner is just as in the dark as he is. There’s some interesting things they could do with his character, but they don’t really do anything. The timeline is just confusing, so some of what I said could very well be incorrect, but my point still stands. There could have been conflict between Mike and Sully on these issues, and there just wasn’t.

The real issue with the Johnny saving Randall recon is the horrible, incoherent timing with it. According to Randall's story, Johnny saved him because he was worried over how laugh energy would topple scream energy after Waternoose's arrest... before laugh energy was actually a thing, because Sully didn't have the idea to use it yet as that only happened at the very end of the first film. Even ignoring that , we're supposed to believe that Johnny learned that Randall was trapped in the human world, found out the exact door he went through, repaired that door/had another door with the exact same connection, and then saved him... all within a span of time when Randall would've still been alive and trapped in the trailer. What? Was Johnny already prepared to save Randall and, if so, why? They were from competing businesses and there was no mention of Johnny being on the Scream Extractor project. I don't buy for a second the "we were joined at the hip in college," line either, but that's a whole other topic starting with how they really flopped with Randall's progression as a villain. It just all comes across as a giant mess. I agree that the show as some decent things about it, but it seems like something that was better in concept than execution.

I think being in the scaring industry have some connections between each other, so Johnny got insiders knowing that Randall is chasing down Boo. And the line Randall said about being friends with Johnny is understandable, since we never saw how Randall's education is after Mike and Sulley got kicked out

    • @SilyaBeeodess
      @SilyaBeeodess 8 месяцев назад +6

@ansonchow2016 The trouble there is, "what insider other than Boggs himself?" We'd only be making an assumption there, and there's still the timing of the abrupt save, which only Mike, Sully, and Randall himself would've known he needed. We'd also have to assume that Johnny had a copy of that specific door ready to do the save that quick.
As for the friend issue, it's clear in the film that RORs, and specifically Johnny's, "friendship" is based on their use to each other. When Sully starts to slip in class, Johnny was ready to kick him to the curb. When Randall messed up his scare in the games, even though it very much was an accident caused by Sully, Johnny flipped out at Randall. We even see Randall flinch at Johnny's voice when he's first shown to have joined the RORs. They may be similar to each other as villains with shared ambitions, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't turn on each other. Again, assuming that the relationship moved on to a positive one, especially when another "friend" of Johnny's, Chet, came to be treated as more of a minion, seems unbelievable and without much to base it on.

Hot take but honestly despite as much a bully/bad guy Johny is. I think at the same time he's a good guy inside. He's obviously done bad things but he's done generous things at the same time. His family seems to be happy, hes only done mischievous things but but never hurt or attempted to kill someone unlike Randal and waternoose. He has much access to those doors as monster inc if he wanted to, he could have literally brought back the scream extractor but didn't. It's still a mystery how he found Randall . But the plan to decorporate monsters inc would be too soon. I think despite the fact they werent friend's he just saved Randall because hes actually caring. Obviously having pressure to maintain the company we don't know his childhood past with his father and it could explain why the way he is.

The second season is obviously better than the first: the first is in fact just a base on which to build the sequel, with many characters each used to their best advantage, an interesting concept behind it and also the return of characters absent from Monsters University or, in Randall's case, Monsters Inc.
Up to episode 8, it was consistently very good, with episode 8 itself culminating in a breathtaking twist, but episode 9 and especially episode 10 simply don't work and almost regress the rest of the season.
The conflict between Scarer and Jokester is won by the latter, no surprises there, but Tylor was happy to work at Fear & Co: sure, the environment was not the best, but this is the culmination of his dream. Why does he suddenly decide to return to what he is not at his best? The moral issue, especially with the numerous POVs presented throughout the season, cannot be resolved in a simple black and white, jokester is good, scarer is bad.
But I think the biggest problem (and sadly one that I feel is never mentioned) is how this finale completely assassinated Johnny as a character, making him make stupid decisions or decisions contrary to his ideals just to have a plausible culprit.
The idea that Johnny and Randall could realistically work together is minimal, in the last Scare Games challenge Randall humiliated the entire fraternity and, if the series really makes us believe that legality is important to him, he would never have made this alliance, and even if we suspend this fact as true, I can't believe Johnny could save Randall at the right time (and frankly I don't even feel like I can justify it).
I know Johnny is not a pure character, and I don't even remotely expect you to think so, but he had moral values that made him a better character than a cartoonish caricature: Chet and Johnny have always been close, ever since university, and suddenly now Chet ditches him, Johnny has a family that he visibly loves, but which is never seen or mentioned in the finale, and even the character's intelligence is severely diminished, impossible for someone as smart as him not to have calculated the risks of mixing the 2 energies.
Really, a good season, an expansion of the world never seen until now, characters that are never useless and an animation quality that, although not comparable to Pixar, is acceptable, but this finale doesn't deserve to give Johnny such a negative send off

THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE MISCHARACTERIZATION/USE OF JOHNNY!! i thought i was the only one who saw more than just a one-dimensional bully/antagonist in him. (warning: Johnathan James “The Jaw” Worthington III autistic character analysis coming up ⤵️)
Johnny is passionate about upholding his family legacy (and as you said, he loves said family), he cares about maintaining good grades, and respects tf out of MU and the scaring process and tradition. he intentionally humiliated OK, but also used the popularity of said humiliation to raise money for charity (yes, i believe him). he also took the “loss” against OK in the final scare game surprisingly well (he didn’t try to get back at Mike or swear revenge as Randall did to Sully, he didn’t even call BS on Mike “out-preforming” him! he didn’t look mad either, just shocked (he only looked mad when his own team couldn’t pull their own weight), but seemed to accept the loss to Oozma Kappa. he also offered Sully a spot back on ROR, so he doesn’t seem to hold grudges or be vengeful or a sore loser). his main flaw i feel, is that he can’t see the value in people right away, or at all until they can blatantly prove it to his face. he also canonically fears failure, which suits him very well considering the weight he is carrying with his family reputation, maining top scare student status, and being president of the top scare fraternity on campus (that’s a lot for anyone, holy frig).
this character has passions, goals, values, beliefs, things he cares deeply about, and hardships. you just have to be looking for it ;). not to mention he gots ✨ flaws ✨ (every good character has them, lol). Johnny’s pretty well set up and deserving of a redemption arc if you ask me!
in MU, Johnny was always very loud and vocal and kinda made a scene and was very obvious when he didn’t like someone or something (ex: Sully’s laziness, Mike and OK joining the Scare Games, Reggie’s slip up in the final challenge, Randall’s failure in the final challenge, Chet when he became too much at times, etc.). but he also cheered when his teammates were doing well, and did not even try to hide his flabbergasted expression when Oozma Kappa ”beat” Roar Omega Roar in the Scare Games. it was clear what he thought 100% of the time about everybody. bro was anything but fake, or as Tylor worded it, “a fraud”. Johnny was a jerk, who didn’t know he was being a jerk. that’s his main character flaw, he can’t see the worth in people (namely ones like Mike and Oozma Kappa) bc it’s not immediately visible/measurable to him. people like that don’t align with what his (and most people in their society tbh) definition of what a ‘monster’ truly is. and he feels the need to point that out to them every chance he gets bc he feels their determination is a waste of time and energy. that can always change tho. if /Hardscrabble/ was able to see it, Johnny Worthington absolutely can as well 🙌.
in MAW, Johnny acts like a good guy, a “changed monster”, but apparently has been scheming behind the scenes for… the entire show’s length? 😭 and has been covering up his tracks so no one suspects he’s up to something?? i HATE this. it implies that Johnny now KNOWS what he is doing is wrong, and that he just doesn’t care. that he’s just doing bad things for the sake of doing bad things bc…? he wants to stay in power? he wants to rule over monstropolis with Fear Co’s energy (stolen MI laugh energy)? that is not Johnny Worthington. at least not who i saw in MU Johnny Worthington. he was selfish in MU yeah sure, but never to /this/ extent. what happened to the care and passion he used to have for the art of scaring? or the love of continuing his family business? or the goal to make Fear Co be the best it could be (i say this would be a genuine ‘goal’ of his despite it not being taken seriously in MAW, bc Johnny always wanted ROR to be the best they could be, and i thinkkkk the same would carry over to the family business he inherited)? new Johnny hurts people, frames people, sabotages companies and people he formerly respected, is reckless, careless, genuinely stupid, and just doesn’t care about anyone or anything anymore? ok pop off MAW, pop off you really outdone yourselves with this one 😐.
i will give MAW credit, i do believe it is in Johnny’s character to not like change. especially when said change is trying to overhaul every scare business around (cough ✨ Fear Co ✨ cough ✨ his family business ✨ cough), which Johnny would perceive as a threat and/or more likely mock laugh energy and try to compete with it VERY OPENLY MIGHT I ADD THIS CHARACTER HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY TRANSPARENT. but being buddy buddy w Randall all a sudden, stealing from MI, being a complete idiot by not properly researching scream/laugh energy’s compatibility (bc it fu**ing explodes every time 💀), and even more of an idiot by sharing his “nefarious scheme” with Tylor after working with him for a day..? yikes 😬. either smth happened to him off screen to cause this awful shift in character, orrr the writers butchered him and tried to cover up the gaping head wound that is now his flanderized cardboard cutout shadow of a character, with a band aid that says, “if you can’t change who you are, just embrace it”. JOHNNY WOULD NOT EMBRACE BEING A CRIMINAL I AM NOT SORRY ✋😭.
i know nobody cares about Johnny from MU, but he’s actually my favorite character from the entire franchise (rare/hot take, i know 😅). i was super excited when i found out there was a series on Disney+ where he returns! you can imagine my disappointment. my favorite characters always seem to get butchered lol. guess i need to get new taste 🙃
edit: TLDR: my excessively long analysis of Johnny’s character throughout the franchise. Johnny was surprisingly a decently fleshed out character in MU, and was reduced to a shallow, generic villainous entity in MAW. (character flanderization/wasted potential essay.) also Johnny is my favorite character ^^

He did get a job offer to Fearco in Episode 3. Next episode he was being told by Val to say no because of a pinkie promise, and that's the biggest issue with this season's writing.
What I think Dazz was saying that it was frustrating to watch Tylor only work at Fearco for only 2 episode - ish, like the whole thing dragged on too long, and I can agree.
      Here's how I would've fixed it
Tylor learns that his family is struggling earlier, and takes the offer. Episode 5 is where he works at Fearco. Though he has betrayed Monster Inc, MIFT, which leads to understandable feelings that we saw in the finale.
Starting from Episode 5 would actually fix the pacing problem of Tylor learning about Johnny's plans instead of the shtshow we got.

I’ve got some ideas for season 3:
    1. It isn’t clear if FearCo was completely shut down at the end of season 2, if they haven’t: they should make another Epsiode where they play softball but this time monsters Inc wins. This would be a great moment in the series as it would mark their very first victory in the softball games, which would be a very uplifting moment after loosing for 40 years straight. Continuing with the idea that FearCo hasn’t shut down, they would have to rebrand because of people wanting laugh power (most likely changing their name to LaughCo), they could have it so their new CEO makes a more gradual change to laugh power, as a contrast to Sulley ‘all in’ approach.
1 a) They could make it so that which ever team wins gets two tickets to Harry Hausens. This would mean that if Monsters Inc finally won: the episode would end in a very heartwarming moment with Mike and Ceelia finally being able to enjoy a meal together at Harry Hausens. Also the Epsiode could be a two partner with Mike trying to train the team to victory in the first part: similar to how he trained Oozma Kappa in MU. The second part would be the victory: they could even have Waternoose and Johnny Worthington spectating the game as they are allowed a day outside of prison and have Johnny making a smug/gloating remark about how FearCo have won all 40 of the past games and how Monsters Inc are so useless that they’re going to loose this one again marking their 41st conservative victory: only to then witness his company loose for the first time.
    2. In Season 2 Epsiode 8, Mike claims he’s making a play called ‘New Canisters’ to hide the fact that the canisters were leaking (or so he believed at the time). It would be really funny if they made an episode where they tried to make a play called ‘New Canisters’ with Sully to direct and Mike to do his ‘New Canister Dance’. This would be a call back to ‘Put that kid back where it came from or so help me!’. As for the play itself: it could be about how the monsters adapted to the change from scream to laugh, and could also potentially be used to make meta commentary: in a similar vein to the Ember Island Players Epsiode from ATLA.
    3. They could have some scenes with Waternoose and Johnny Worthington III, maybe see their perspective change whilst their sharing a cell in prison.
    4. It would be interesting so see how Johnny’s family are coping as a result of his arrest. They will likely be dealing with the emotional fallout from discovering that their dad who they loved was actually a crook and will likely have to live with the stigma of being associated with him, in fact Roger Roger’s will have had to have dealt with that when his father (Waternoose) was discovered to be making a scream extractor: so they could potentially bond over that shared experience.
    5. In season 2: it’s implied that the members of Oozma Kappa were able to become successful scarers, which means they will have to adapt now that laugh power is becoming a thing: Mike could train them up to be jokesters the same way he did to be scarers in MU.
    6. Randall should come back as a villain.
    7. They could show how Sully’s family (who were initially established to have a strong legacy of being great scarers) are reacting to the change from scare power to laugh power.
    8. They could have an Epsiode where Mike finally does his paperwork on time but because of some unexpected circumstances: he looses all his paper work and has to scramble around trying to fix everything only for the episode to end with Roz calmly telling him that once again, he’s late, with her usual dry humor.
    9. Mike could propose to Ceelia and or Tylor could propose to Val or both.

Maybe! Silly did good on the test simulators that as Professor Nitely put it, easy bedwetter mode. Which way they established settings in MU that is not impressive whatsoever.
He was there less than a full school year to even establish a record plus during the scare games he was good but not great especially compared to scare that Johnny Worthington had done in the endgame. So if anything it would had been best to say he beat Johnny’s established records at M.U.

[Spoilers] I was a fan since season 1 and I really liked the second one. It was better, for sure, because I like that they addressed that change can be hard and that the change from scream to laugh power was not as simple, which it shouldn't be. I mean, that's the way their world has been running. It was fine all these years ago, why change that. I love that they brought back Johnny, didn't think he'd be cheating, that's not what he did in MU, he bullied, but he didn't cheat. I did hope over the season, that Johnny had changed, but he didn't, but I actually still can't say I'm disappointed, because they had Chet change, after being fed up with being treated so badly by Johnny and Randall. I also like that they didn't make Johnny as someone he hasn't been in order for him to be the villain, it all felt pretty in character for him. The season is good, I'm just scared that, even though there is a good chance for season 3, there is something that happened in the last episode, that might have ended the show

At least they did the original movie more justice that Megamind, or Monsters v. Aliens.
Both of those got ruined by their respective series'.
    For Megamind..
    1. Minion should have kept his name, it was his NAME and or species never his title.
    2. Megamind had ZERO friends aside from minion and later Roxanne.
    3. Roxanne and Megamind DID fall in love at the end of the movie, no "It's complicated"
    4. Didn't use the Dehydration gun, or at least give a reason not to.
    5. Doom Syndicate was better in the games, nuff said.
    For Monsters v. Aliens.
Should have had another agency capturing aliens and competing for funding instead. To keep the Monsters v. Aliens aspect.
Gynormica shouldn't have had her powers drained, if anything have Dr. Cockroach build her a belt that occasionally shorts out.

I'm still not all that attached to the characters introduced in the series, (I still don't like Tyler much, but the rest are ok) but I think that the way they reintroduced a lot of the side characters from the movies were really cool, and I was actually genuinely impressed with how they tied it all together and even found a fitting job for Tyler at the end.
But yes it probably would have made for a better movie

I find season one was the perfect ending for the series. The second season started off strong but was getting weaker at the end. The last two episodes seems to be rushed and had a few plotholes in my opinion.
Also my opinion: the ending was too simple and not relatable to enjoy. Monsters inc and monsters university has these strong points the audience can relate to...even season one of monsters at work had that strong point. ( I dont want to use spoilers to ruin the fun on watching the series who hasnt seen it yet). Hopefull they dont do a season 3 or another movie.
Despite all that I still watch the series as well as the movies over and over again ❤

@@kevinasturias607 Disney leases out its properties to Square Enix to create the worlds in Kingdom Hearts. The only involvement they or Pixar may have (besides sharing character models, etc) would be ensuring their characters are accurately portrayed in the story. Kingdom Hearts doesn't and cannot create canon for the IPs - Disney owns Pixar and Monsters at Work, whether Pixar is involved or not, is a canon extension to that universe.
Kingdom Hearts III contradicts Monsters at Work because it wasn't even announced when the game was released, and because it has zero influence on the lore of that franchise, Disney has ignored anything established in that world.
Tl;dr, Kingdom Hearts is its own thing and has no effect on the canon of Monsters, Inc. or any other property featured in the games.
