I don’t know if this is just an American thing, but when I hear the word “clotheshorse“ I think of someone who is always wearing the most stylish clothing imaginable.

Much prefer the light wood flooring in the lodge, I like the contrast between the grey walls and light wood flooring.
The dearer laminate looks like its vinyl which is more expensive that laminate made out from MDF but is a lot easier to lay and in particular easier to cut.!! Worth the extra

White wine in the fridge...NEVER RED. It needs to be at room temp and be opened to breath for half an hour or so before drinking.

If you lay the vinyl and there is a small gap you can just use a nice bead of silicone to cover it, it's very common.
If it's laminate you can get beading that you can nail into the skirting board.

Have you looked at grey laminate flooring rather than vinyl as it can be much more hard wearing and cheaper, we got some and it looks fab with the wood grain in it, it looks like real wood flooring.

Have a look in Costco for laminate. We just got some there and it's great quality stuff AC 4 so really hard wearing and they had a grey one. If comes with the underlay attached

Hi - can you explain more on the dos and don'ts of rentals - where I live it is subject to owner - some allow a wide variety of personalizing and others are strictly hang pictures only... then some let you do extras but you may have to add an extra deposit ....also - I'm sure you know this but leaks have the possibly of mold issues in the walls and ceiling .... hopefully your maintenance people will be thorough.... I like the lighter color is smaller spaces as well....

I've always called them clothes horses - that's what my mum calls them who is 85
So good that you are able to do renovations in the apartment, here in Canada we are not able to reno apartments unless you own it paint only,I guess we can with permission but usually it is in lease agreement some won't even let you paint color ,,

Are you guys super tall or the ceilings very low there?? Hard to find any apartments in America (unless it’s in an old building) that have I less than 10 ft ceilings. No wonder Nick is claustrophobic
