Mike Capadano i totally agree with you. The first 2 games boasted over 1 million units sold and they had no reason to stop. They then made dark dawn 7 years later and that basically ruined the franchise not just because of the story but the time gap led to fewer fans over time. This series definitely needs a reboot in any way

Same. I always go by their moveset though. In the initial encounter you see them using moves like eruption and flare wall then by the time you reach Venus Lighthouse they would've practically mastered their fire psynergy as well, with moves like pyroclasm, supernova, inferno, and fiery blast
Abnormal Adept i would except that as an excuse but in tales of destiny on PS1 they give u an almost impossible fight against Leon which u cant beat unless u use the gameshark. when u beat him he notices, its a different scene then the 1 where u just get your ass whooped lol so i see dudes point
You can buy a lot of those damage items that send an electric shock across the field (forget what they're called) and easily beat Leon that way. Plus you can deal a decent amount of damage on him anyway and have the opportunity to grind and overlevel. In the childhood arc on GS, you only get a handful of scripted encounters and won't level up. You're lucky to even inflict 2hp of damage on S&M. They programmed it in such a way that it's impossible via normal means, whereas ToD has a handful of methods to put the odds in your favor against Leon. Also, you're both way too butthurt about something non-canonical not being implemented in the game.
This game is my childhood i will do anything for me to by its collector's edition if it is going to be remastered i dont care if it is 2d HD or whole remake. I never seen anything like this game, the story, the battle, the puzzles, the interaction with NPC everything it is so underrated

That being said, I think I'm hooked on the series, even if it was just from one game. Imagine the sequel on the 3DS... dammit, its got shivers going down my spine! Such a good story, and I can't wait till there's a continuation.
yo bro, just download a Visual Boy Advance & the roms. if u put it into 2 different folders and copy the VBA into those folders, u can even get ur gs1 party into gs2 via "link cable". and yes that works, even for pokemon, 2 ppl can fight on 1 keyboard :D you REALLY missed a masterpiece of a story! gs1+2 was planned as 1 game, but blasted the module's capacities!

thursday march 15 2018 and ive just ordered this awesome again. and yea i know you tweaked isaac but tbh from the damage you inflicted on saturos and menardi it looked just like their hp value atop venus lighthouse (before the fusion dragon, obviously) with less effective psynergy but it is MEANT to be lost so going all out makes no sense here lol. the result doesnt surprise me a bit and once i saw saturos fall i called it just as i saw with saturos and medardi pulling a "chibi- usa" and scampering away lol! nice job on this one and i want Golden Sun Rise of Dawn (my personal preferrence for a new title if they do it) ! and if they do, the time is soon approaching when it would fall perfectly into place imo!
golden sun, one of the best, if not THE best, games on GBA in the lost age. Such simple but powerful game mechanics, i wonder why there are not more RPGs out there.
The developers seemed to have considered that the player could spend ages leveling up. Right before Menardi is defeated she uses that Death attack. When you think you are so close to winning, you die no matter what. Without cheats you can’t survive. This reminds me of Balio and Sunder from breath of fire 3. Though at least this game decides enough is enough and just beats you. In that they just can’t die no matter how much damage you do.
I actually remember considering this, but as memory serves (it's been awhile lol) there's a fixed number of encounters here rather than a normal farmable area, even though it looks like one during a normal playthrough.

When I was a kid I was able to defeat Menardi without any cheats but Saturos insta killed me right after.i was only able to do it with luck.i didn't even know you could do that back then.
Wow, the game developers really wanted you to lose. If their absurd HP pool and damage wasn't enough, Menardi also got an instant death attack. That's just overkill.

I have a question, if you do the exact same stats for issac and leave the other 3 characters downed, will the fight with them at mercury lighthouse and Venus lighthouse be easier than this fight? Cause it kind of seemed like it took a lot to take them down here. And they might have been weakened for the next two fights with them.
The comment above wants to know if the future fights lengths the same as this or if they were weakened. Meaning you can kill them with less turns. You know that Saturos is "weaker" in the next battle. Because the Mercury Lighthouse plot. It would be nice to check the veracity of that.
