- We made it today! We are posting on Tuesdays!
So we've lived here for a couple of years now and we still haven't styled our bedroom! We are going to attempt to make this space cozy and comfortable while staying at home. Hopefully our pitty puppy will love it! It was fun to show you guys how we give her a bath today. I know someone who is non verble autistic and uses sign lanuage so i understood some signs. U two are soooo cute together. Love ryans sence of humor. Java is way tooo adorable. U two do everything together. Love u guys.
I’m autistic and hearing and I love to use asl when I’m having a meltdown and can’t talk 😊 both my parents are fluent in asl so I’m lucky

Ivan Ivan also any names unless they have a sign name so for Java it would be J-A-V-A finger spelled
@@leahomia2779 People who use sign language usually have a nickname for things or people. Like for Java, I think they just use a J for short. People sometimes have funny nicknames or sentimental ones, it just depends.

It's never too late to learn. I am a nurse and wanted to learn ASL in case I need to communicate with my patients.

I eat potato chips all the time when I watch You Tube.
I used to work at a salad bar where we made smoothies, definitely recommend putting the frozen fruit in the microwave for a few seconds that way your blender can actually blend the berries😂😊
I have ptsd and mdd with anxiety and sometimes I experience issues with processing audio well. Feelings of being overwhelmed, anxious and generally unable to focus and hear things properly. I feel so comfy having found this channel and knowing it has full and accurate subtitles. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences here on youtube. Hey guys. Thank for the smoothie info. I’ve been wanting to add chia seeds and a couple of other things to my smoothies. I do mostly greens. Spinach, celery, cucumber, Kayla. Stuff like like. So I will be adding the seeds and stuff like you.

I dicovered your RUclips channel not long ago and I already watched a lot of your videos, I love it! It's refreshing, interesting, humbling, enlightning... and you guys are so loving with each other, it's a pleasure to watch ♥️
I'm currently doing my studies in psychology to become a psychotherapist in few years from now. And I realised, few monthes ago, that deaf or hard hearing persons may struggle to find a psychotherapist that can underestand and communicate with them. So I decided, as a long term goal of course, to progressively learn LSF (french sign language, as my mother tongue is French) to offer the possibility for them to come get the mental health help they need. I've watched a lot of your videos also to get familiarised with ASL even if I know it's different than LSF (probably as different as english and french speaking langage) to start with. And I'm very attentive about all the tips and advices you give to hearing people regarding ASL, deaf culture and deaf community.

I literally thought that when she was talking saying she got up before Ryan. In my head, "Wow that's really rude, that's gonna wake him up. Oh yeah, he's deaf." Then I started wondering if the vibrations of her moving around would wake him up.

Ellen do you vocalize your speaking only on camera? what about when you're off camera? When you guys are talking do you always vocalize or just for when theres audience?
In deaf culture, when they communicate with one another they don't vocalize with one another. If you are a hearing individual they will vocalize with you. If you are a hearing individual and know ASL you would not vocalize. If you vocalize it is like you are shouting at them. The deaf will always try to teach you some signs if you are interested in learning. They are the most down-to-earth people. When Ellen communicates with Ryan, she will not vocalize, the deaf also read lips.
This is becoming my daily routine. I recently discovered SignDuo and this is my go-to streams while I’m having my meals, I even make sure to catch up on past vlogs before I head to bed. Your content is amazing and I’m so happy I get to learn so many things from the two of you. Thank you. 🙂

We taught our dog to “hula” on command, which is to do that shake off, while in the shower area. It was fun when he knew that command because we would actually make him walk up to someone when he was wet outdoors and have him shake off. It was a fun trick to play on people who we knew would take it the fun way it was meant.

Hey guys! I just heard of this app that I think would be super useful next time you have a family reunion or something like that. It's called AVA and basically, Ellen wouldn't have to interpret bc it hears people talking and can recognize each voice and puts it into words on your phone so people can talk and Ryan can read along with what they're saying and so he'll be able to be more included. I highly recommend it if y'all don't have it already! It can also be used like in public when you're ordering food so the person giving you food can just talk and it tells you what they said!

Im very curious about sign language. It really amazes me how the signs look so simple but then I look at the captions and I see complex sentence. Is there a grammar like past simple, present continous, present perfect etc. with verbs like were, are, am, have been, was etc.? And is sign language different in every country? Btw love your videos, I love to watch it at bedtime cause its relaxing since there aren't mamy noises. Some youtubers like to shout a lot and that just causes anxiety and hyperactiveness.
Hi! I'm hard of hearing and I'm informally teaching myself ASL. From what I've learned, sentence structure will be different depending on how you sign; ASL differs from SEE which is another form of sign language (Signing Exact English - so your signs are in the same order as you would write out or vocalize a sentence). It depends on how you sign. I'm not sure about past and present - I believe there are signs you add to show the tense. Like "now" to clarify present or "-ed" to clarify past tense. And yes, sign language is not a universal language so different countries have a different way of signing. 🙂
Yes it different from English we say what are you doing while asl says you doing what (I know because my mom and I are learning 🤗)

@@ewan5902 They both sign a pidgin language between ASL and SEE, while they film their videos. Ellen does use more of an English structure to her sentences due to her vocalizing while signing. I don't think I saw any SEE signs in this video.
