    Wow. Not only did you do Neil justice... you had FUN with it. I remember Dave Grohl playing behind Geddy and Alex at Taylor's memorial... he was *playing his face off* just to keep up... you're *smiling* about it... and those transitions from regular kit to Glockenspiel - with the kick drum still going - were just *perfect*. I can only imagine what you'll be up to in 20 years...

    • @rediflow
      @rediflow 6 месяцев назад +7

      Dave always looks like playing his face off on drums, after switching to Performance mode. Watch him play at Nirvana, at QOTSA, at Them crocked vultures or even his SNL Performance with Tom Petty. His Drum off with the Muppets Show Animal was not random picked🙂
      Also Dave keep admitting, that until today he is star struck in the presence of people he refers as Legends. So, Playing Live at Wembley along Geddy and Alex is a whole different Situation than drumming along a backing track with as many takes as you need.
      This shall take nothing away from her amazing performance, but I recognized her being not as easy and loose as usual. Maybe the classical grip, that made her uncomfortable or the complexity of the Song?.. doesn't matter, she still played it very well and way better than I could do right now.

    Another incredible cover, Sina. I sent the link to my students, and here is what I wanted them to pay attention to:
    "This video of Sina covering Rush and Neil Peart is almost a more compelling argument that "Neil Peart is the greatest rock drummer of all time" than watching Neil Piert play it!
    Regardless, please take note of the many tempo, time signature, and idiom changes within this tune. Rush became famous for their innovative approach to meter and phrasing.
    Also, please note that Sina plays accents with the sticks starting above her head, but watch her hands, especially her left. Nice loose relaxed grip. And notice her delicate touch when she switches to the bells. This combination of power, precision, and delicacy very much parallels what we are trying to achieve in pipeband drumming."

And there was the comedy part, too, surprising Glockenspiel part, which you did effortlessly in quite an uncomfortable position on the fly and still losing no kicking power or losing any control. Wow! One of my favorite bands. I saw Rush live in 1983 in LA, Golden Earring opened for them. I'll never forget how Neil Peart would bounce his drumstick off his snare into the air catch it and keep playing. You did a great job playin Sina, thank you!

    Absolutely killed it I am a huge fan of Rush and thought early on that they could not be covered as cover artists let alone the incredible drumming that comes from Neil Peart. But I've been wrong before,I have to give you credit for the xylophone tunes. Because Neil has them on his drum kit which would allow for easy access. And you stop your drumming and have someone lean over while you begin to play. That is amazing it doesn't look easy but you're a natural. I'm over here in tears over your amazing performance. Keep up the good work.

    American drummers, now female drummers, they’re always the best. It must be the drum academies they have. Drums and percussion is well supported in the US. Aside from that, this girl is pure drum class. Pulls off Spirit… superbly with some of her own chops thrown in.
