Wow, Mister Houston Person - how awesome is that! He’s like a towering Sequoia of Jazz/Blues, already a timeless legend when I was learning how to play 35-40 years ago. I’d be checking out Trane, G. Coleman, Grossman, Brecker - getting into the theory substitutions etc, but then I’d hear me some Turrentine, Rusty Bryant or Houston Person and think “Damn, man - all I wanna do is GROOVE like that!”
I've watched and listened to a lot of Emmett Cohen's concerts over the past year plus, and this is one of the best. Thanks Houston, Emmett, Russell, and Kyle.

Good to hear Houston work out with the young people. I have last seen him in person with my dear friend the late Etta Jones.

My fave tenor player on here to date. Good god I love him!

Just the way you are ! This melody reminds me of Grover Washington Jr.
and Phil Woods !
Emmet is sounding very Gene Harris like on Lil' Darlin, and that is meant as a high compliment. Well done guys!
Wonderful concert, greetings from Colombia
Argh I have to connect to work, I wasn't planning on listening for so long but Mr Person's sound is unquittable
He's 86!!!
Super cool stuff there!
Amazing performance.
Houston Person might have the most swingin phrasing i have ever heard, and it seems to be infectious to the musicians surrounding him
Food for the soul!
Sublime!
Lil' Darlin' is of course the theme song of the great Count Basie.
