Derwen College - True Colours

Derwen College Performing Arts students have worked in partnership with NHS Croydon to create videos to support them to celebrate Learning Disability Week this week (14 to 20 June 2021)
The Performing Arts team have created this signed song video to ‘True Colours’.
They have also supported NHS Croydon in a separate in-house video demonstrating Makaton key signs to support staff across Croydon NHS to communicate with their patients.
Helen Potton, Chair of Staff Disability Forum - Croydon Ability Network, and parent of Derwen College student Jamie, said:
“I know that I am very biased but I absolutely love it and not ashamed to say that it has made me cry. I love how everyone is clearly enjoying it and how they are communicating using Makaton but in a really beautiful way. Thank you so very much for all your hard work. I appreciate it very much from a professional perspective for Croydon but also as Jamie's mum. I love the hope that it shows and how we are all valuable and individual."
