- In today's 20 years of democracy slot, we focus on an exceptionally influential and successful first ever Tshivenda soapie, Muvhango.
Since it's inception 17 years go Muvhango has grown from a mere 13-part series to holding the enviable spot of South Africa's second leading soap. We are joined by actor's Sindi Dlathu, and Brian Temba as well as the man who started it all, Muvhago's creator Executive producer Duma Ndlovu.

Thanks SABC 2 for making it 5 days a week
Back in the days 😭❤️🔥...
wow - Thandaza takes the man
Is it true that it initially played once a week?
It might have, because muvhango originally was a 13 part-series in 1997. Muvhango started broadcasting for 3 days a week (Mondays to wednesdays) for season 3. And in 2007 for it's 10th anniversary, they broadcasted for four days a week. And then in 2014 the soapie broadcast for 5 days a week, which also debut their current logo.
7:03 Sindi has got common features with Thandaza.
