Not by focusing on it day and night and trying to overcome it in our own strength. Sin is too strong for mere willpower. Your spiritual appetite has to overpower your carnal appetite. You have to want the things of God more than you want the things of the world. To get to that point you must focus on God, read The Word, pray, meditate, rather than dwelling on how bad your sin is and how you need to stop. Take that energy and feed your spirit. Feed your spirit and your flesh will starve. As you begin to love God and realize how much he loves you, your desires will change. This has happened to me. Remember this- what you focus on (feed) becomes stronger.
