I am very old and very lucky so I got to see Ray Charles twice while he was still alive. Of course he was incredible both times and of course he did this song because everybody knows this is one of his absolute signature songs. However, this is the version that will probably stick with me forever. I discovered the soul alive album many years ago and there's just something about Solomon Burke and the way he turns loose this absolute Mayhem in the hall. It's as if he has total control of the audience and all the unformed feelings they don't even know they have. There is only one mr. Solomon Burke.
