I'm old enough to remember when "Ray the Troublemaker" aka Benzino was a true force in Boston streets in the 80s and 90s. Crazy deep in those yellow and black Boston Bruin hockey jerseys. He's had alot of bad media moments in the past 20+ years to diminish his name and credit, but he was really in deep and a decent rapper, producer, and marketing wiz when he applied himself.
Yep he was a story dude it’s just he was in too deep with the streets
Facts. I have family in Boston and would be there in the summers back in the 90's.
There whole crew used to go out over 50 deep with the Black and Yellow Avirex
Let's just keep it real Ray is one of those life real street dudes who was never the greatest or tightest rappers/MC's on the mic = more of a gangster than an actual dope rapper pretty much
@Nick-Hurr1990it destroyed you
Paul pierce went out there on that LA sh!T and learned “It ain’t about where you from, it’s how you come”
Facts I love paul

@@TheBulletzgottishow20 I fu#ks with Paul to but them LA cats are different 😂😂😂😂😂
@@lutherodaniels3799 yeah them LA niggaz is very aggressive even with the females so he thought us east coast cats was soft but I fucks with paul
Wrong. He was out there on some "NBA , I'm the best player in the City, I can have any girl I see shyt" and found out.
That's not repping Los Angeles but if it makes you feel better about the last time the Lakers killed y'all in the finals......go ahead😂😂😂
All the players doing a stabbin motion during a celebration with Paul is wild 😂
WTF lmao I'm just seeing that for the first time... Insane!!
Dawg …. 🤣 what the hell was that
That's cause Paul came back and had the one of his best years of his career..basically he overcame and owned the situation as if it made him stronger ..I remember that year Paul had a mvp like season
Zino the most solid ninja I’ve met in the industry. Always invested in ninjas. Hung in hella hoods from ATL to LA, no security, jewels never tucked, pockets fat, never scared.. The internet is a nasty place… Turn a good guy in the bad guy
No him being a clown and messing up the source is why we feel that way.....y'all are trying to change history

I remember when Zino used to come through Blue Hill Ave with his silver G Wagon back in 2002. Dripped out with heavy jewelry.

Bc a lot of them of are losers stuck in their moms basement or were super goofballs in high school still looking for attention
I was a teenager back in them days and to be honest I can honestly say that he was feared in Boston nobody wanted to come out and be a rapper because if they tried he will always extort me him and his clique I remember just like it was yesterday whenever he was around there was always a problem it's it's nice to see that he changed his life and now is more focused on family
Ray hid behind his Boston Goons just like Fat Joe did with T.S. Type" Boston OG's Wage War against Benzino"
His pops was well respected in Boston
@rotweilerscholar1181 nah Joe was a soldier before rap. Benzino was a boss in that shit before rap came. 2 different types bro. Money made Joe people follow him. Respect made Benzino people follow him. Just like the Loz said ain't shit really move out there without him. And those just facts😂😂😂
@@brickcitytovaandback5708facts
@@brickcitytovaandback5708 Save that narrative for young impressionable minds. I was tight with Diamond D. My mans lived in McKinley PJ's. I know the exact building on Trinity Ave where Joe lived. I know the elementary school Joe went to. Joe came through the park one day up the Block where everyone played Ball. He wasnt with his TS goons. One guy told Joe to his face that Joe was quiet in Elementary school and Joe just laughed because he wasn't with his goons. Real BX heads know that guys like Pete and Charlie Rock are the real goonies. I am from Soundview, Puns neighborhood actually. I just have extensive BX and Harlem Ties. There's a video of Bang Bang Boogie going hard at Joe and Joe remains quiet as a Church mouse because he didnt have his TS goons behind him. Joe fell out with them after he moved to Miami and sold his soul trying to make commercial club songs with Cool and Dre. I know more about Joe than you can imagine because it's a Bronx thang.
Zino was a Street Legend over there. I use to hear about him in Boston from all the way over in NYC.
Thank u for making this Pop cause the media has painted Benzino to the younger generation as an all around clown. Bruh had HUGE pull in Boston with the Made Men crew and damn near muscled his way into becoming part owner of one of the biggest hip hip magazines to date. He just lamed himself out in old age...which is really wat most real ninjas trynna leave all that behind end up doing🤷🏾♂️. Real ones know about em in his heyday for sure tho
Yeah I was a Fan of Ray the only Bold enough to stand up and Say Enemeim should not be Staple in Black hip hop though I know the Art is Universal Seriously Eminem gets more Accolades than Black artists in there own Genre hip hop was From the Streets reporting The events and Ills of the Urban Neighborhoods produced the Struggle of Black unfortunates
Immediately took offense to what you said........ But I really needed to hear it...... Being that I'm almost his age... lol..... getting out..,......the game and wondering why it's not working for you 😂😂😂😂
@TiaMY-zj8tf lmao I meant no offense but I just turned 41 in January with 4 kids. I know exactly the feeling. To the younger generation looking at me now, I'm lame asf and know it. They wasn't there when I was out there and they have people my age still doing the crazy ish so they think that's normal. Naw vets who make it out thank God they did cause they know so many who didnt, sit down, and raise their kids with healthy advice. Trust me, we lame asf to them and I don't care cause I ain't got nothing to prove to this younger generation
@@rolandog5424Wild part is Eminem is low-key a modern day Hip Hop version of Elvis Presley back in the day who became the biggest artist byway of doing black ppl music & shit
@@brickcitytovaandback5708The media hasn't made him look like a clown. HE DID THAT TO HIMSELF. Benzino has lost his damn mind these past few years I've seen countless videos of him going on insane schizophrenic rants for no reason that make no sense, a couple videos of him snitching an telling on people to the cops, a couple videos of him being evicted from places cause he was too broke to stay there, and fuck it I can't tell you how many times I've seen him start crying in front of other grown men an even women. Dudes made himself look like a clown cause he is a clown. He may have been a baller, gangster an legend back in the 90s but he's a bum now an been one for a while. Fuck last video I saw of him getting arrested he had taken an Uber to the spot where he was stalking this chick that didn't want him cause he didn't even own a damn car.
Y’all gotta understand something binzino was always respected in the streets but not as a rapper
He was in the room on the rap side too just was blackballed/in the streets

I used to live in Boston for 2 yrs and what the world knows about Benzino now was definitely not the case back in the mid 90's. Dorchester, Roxbury, and Mattapan are small cities within Boston and it seemed like everyone either knew RSO personally or knew someone that knew them. They( RSO/Made Men) had the streets on lock back then.
They aren't cities. They're Boston neighborhoods.
@cranekraken24 thanks for the correction.
Benzino was member of YBI from detroit when they expanded to boston benzino said YBI teach him how be huslter he made first million to start source awards

Columbia Point Dawgs. They formed in the 80s Columbia Point was one of the projects that got torn down in the city. (Actually kinda remodeled for a more mixed income housing complex) it was on a peninsula. One way in. One way out. It was BIG, like cabrini green. You can still google images of it. It was HUGE. It was so bad, public services, like police, fire, and trash collection were refused there fir a period of time. The gang from there spread out into different parts of the southern end of the city (dorchester, roxbury, and mattapan). Some of the members are still there. Its so big, that its coming up on 4 generations now. They wear pittsburgh pirates hats. Every gang in boston has a corresponding sports hat. Ricos are happening in gangs across the city constantly.
I believe they were linked to the murder of whitney houstons brother. But im not sure, cause that happened in bobby browns projects, orchard park, which is still there today. I think columbia point and orchard park were allies tho. Orchard park wears portland trailblazers hats.
