I love these podcasts and. though I shouldn't be, I', often amazed at (a) how open these athletes are about the positive and negative aspects of their journeys, (b) how thoughtful and articulate they are, and (c) how diverse their interests are. Erica's advocacy for gay rights, her interest in film, and her desire to travel and see the world and its people are great examples that help to dispel the idea that athletes are one-dimensional people who should "shut up and dribble" or "stick to swimming." A very refreshing interview with a young woman who gives me hope for the future.
