I thought he went a l m o s t too fast, but I only needed to hit a couple of times to catch up. I think these instructions were better than what I downloaded from the GoPro web site. Show&Tell is better than reading.

I read the instructions first, then watched this video. Great informative guidelines. Appreciate the good video. Guess it's sometimes better to observe, rather than wing it and potentially break it brand new out of the box or mess something up.

Great video! And just to add..... ALWAYS upload your videos using the SD card and NOT the GoPro USB cord. You will save hours of your life! I promise!

the USB cord works but you have to play with it a few times to get it to recognize . I have no idea how to use the SD card tiny little thing Do you need an external reader device to install the SD card into PC?

quality333 I have an SD card slot on my laptop so it’s easy. However you can get a USB reader’s for less than $12-$14
I purchased the hero 4 silver today the black comes with a few more features (not many more) but the silver comes with a LCD back as the black does not, the picture quality is amazing, I also have a hero 3 and the big differences between the 2 is fantastic I highly recommend the Hero 4 silver.
Are the "few more" features that comes with the black one important?

Iv seen the black, and even if it was the same price id still get the silver, the LCD makes all difference I don't think much of 4k, 1080 superview at 50fps should be enough what you want to use it for, go pro studio is a great editing program using protune, and if you want to make slomo clips the flux option is awesome, just takes a long time to render,

when you are filming with the gopro upside down after you transfer it to your computer will the footage still be upside down or will it flip to the right side up
i was here [unknown] If you set your camera to Auto Rotate (this is an option in the Setup Menu as long as you are running the latest firmware), the footage will record right side up even with your camera upside down. The orientation is determined when you begin recording.
Otherwise, if you film with your camera upside down, your footage will play back upside down. You can flip it in Step 1 of GoPro Studio by selecting "Rotate/Flip".

I have the GoPro hero 4 silver and it does indeed come with a water proof case! I haven't read up much but I know the one of the only differences between the black and the silver is that the black can shoot at a higher frame rate to the silver at 1080p. There's probably a lot more but I just stuck with the Silver :)

Hello, does the Hero 4 not come with a wireless remote thing?
No, the Hero 4 does not comes with a wireless remote. You can use the GoPro App for free on your smart phone. If you need the remote, it must be purchased separately.

anyway to remove fish eye from videos?
Within gopro studios, there is a button that says advanced settings, click it and you'll find a tick box for remove fisheye
The "Remove Fisheye" effect does reduce the fisheye look a little bit.
But, for shots where you don't need the ultra wide field of view (FOV), set your camera to the Narrow FOV. This FOV gives the effect of a standard (around 28mm) lens. 1080p-60 Narrow is available on both the Silver and Black.
Also, depending which camera (the Black or Silver) you are using, when recording at 4k or 2.7k resolutions, you can zoom in to reduce the fisheye effect and still output a full resolution 1080p video.
@@JordanHetrick when you do a software update, you have the new option of using linear, i have my black set on 2.7k with linear fov...👍

Lawrence Pearman Thanks and congrats on the new camera! The HERO Port is used to attach either the Battery BacPac (to the Black or Silver) or the LCD Touch BacPac (to the Black).

How to get videos from the silver 4 onto iphone?
Download the GoPro App (it's free). Follow the the instructions to connect to your GoPro using the WiFi. Once you are connected, you can view and save the videos that are on your camera's microSD card.
I recently bought this gopro from an auction. If the previous owner do not disconnect the wifi or bluetooth from thier device, is it still possible? It requires a password. thanks

I purchased the Hero4 Black but I still do not even have a smart phone because I work behind a computer all day and long use my phone for texting and calls. I haven't removed my camera from the box yet. I choose the black for the video quality but with the black it sounds like you cant view it live?? I was going to upload everything to the computer but now I am wondering if I need to take it back and get the cheaper silver...your thoughts?
Triangle Kickball The Hero4 Black is a great camera! The video settings are better than the Silver, especially the 4k and 2.7k resolutions.
There is no viewfinder for a live view of what you are filming, but you can get an LCD Touch BacPac that is really helpful, especially if you are new to using a GoPro.

+Karl Hamilton Scroll through the menus to the Setup Menu. In the Setup Menu, there is a Trash Can Icon. You can use that to erase/format the card.
You can also erase files one by one using the App or (on the Silver) the Touch Screen.
