It Lakers win it doesn’t mean anything cause they need to do it in the playoffs. If they lose, it will just show they are not ready to beat Denver. Only reason I say this is because Gordon is out. If both teams were healthy, I think lakers winning would show improvement from the last few years, but not having Gordon is a big disadvantage because he does a go job on LeBron. LeBron’s not used to going up against good defenders his size so he’s always taken advantage. With Gordon, he’s just not as effective anymore.
Im just going to throw something out there. Do we really need to keep talking about “liability on defense” when the NBA is a scoring leage now? One of the best players in the leage Steph Curry, Is a liability on defense. I know his scoring makes up for it. But to take Dalton out when he has proved he is a scorer / Strech 3 lights out shooter this early in his career as a rookie. I don’t care if he starts but he needs to play 35-40 min until he shows you that he isn’t producing. Why limit his potential and bench him? Rui was literally worst starter in last years playoffs vs Nuggets (80th/80! D-Lo was also in the 70s🤢).
I like JJ, but I don’t understand going away from DK starting given how dope he’s been starting (great spacing alone nevermind a sniper & good cutter as well) with elite +/- too. Rui has come off bench 40% of his career too so he’s used to doing it whereas DK has been MUCH better as a starter! It would be one thing if Rui a good defender, but he’s not! He & D-Lo off bench could help that on the whole horrid bench that gets beat by 2-5x nightly points wise!

Nuggets 62 win pace last year when Murray played vs 48 win when he didn’t. He was also 19th in BPM & 14th in OBPM + 19 in VORP per game.
Also part of why he goes off vs Lakers is AR D-Lo bottom 3 worst starting guard (or top 2 guard) defensively!

Only reason I say this is because Gordon is out. If both teams were healthy, I think lakers winning would show improvement from the last few years, but not having Gordon is a big disadvantage because he does a go job on LeBron. LeBron’s not used to going up against good defenders his size so he’s always taken advantage. With Gordon, he’s just not as effective anymore.

Im just going to throw something out there. Do we really need to keep talking about “liability on defense” when the NBA is a scoring leage now? One of the best players in the leage Steph Curry, Is a liability on defense. I know his scoring makes up for it. But to take Dalton out when he has proved he is a scorer / Strech 3 lights out shooter this early in his career as a rookie. I don’t care if he starts but he needs to play 35-40 min until he shows you that he isn’t producing. Why limit his potential and bench him?
