We are preparing an exclusive documentary about the incredible Guyot family (each of the 5 family members owns - at least - a chateau!).If you want to be informed of its availability (not on RUclips) before everyone else, you can subscribe to our brand new newsletter (free & in English): bit.ly/3RxQn9H
Excellent tour, also thank you for adding English subtitles. It makes this video more accessible to those of us who are not fluid French speaking. Well done.
Eyes back in your head... he's mine! I told my wife if she doesn't straighten up I'm taking my cash somewhere new! (She said go for it...that I'd need ALL of it to catch this guy!) 😎
@mcqueendroid: He will need more than looks to restore the chateau. Even if he works as a ‘gigolo’ for extra money, it won’t be enough. Although his chateau appears to be in better shape than the French doctor (who speaks English), the restorations are major, major projects. Even the English family who is doing a great job is applying a variety of skills learned as they go. Bothe the French doctor and this young man need a family with restoration skills.
I am 26 and I would love to do the same. I am passionate about History and want to make sure that these historical homes and castles never go abandoned and always stay in their original shape and form. I am obsessed with making them stay untouched. I might be able to make this dream a reality pretty soon.
I am grateful to this young man for his appreciation and commitment to preserving his Nation’s architectural history! He’s young enough to see this project to it’s completion. I hope that many more are inspired by him, as countless old mansions and historic homes are decaying across the EU and UK (here in America too).
Congratulations young man. It is a delight to see a French man taking an interest in French history by saving this chateau. Please promote your chateau on the internet to get visitors. Look forward to visiting one day. Bravo from UK!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have enjoyed this very very much. What a beautifull place .It is a dream .And how wonderfull to live there and to restored this all. Thnaks for seeing and sharing this.I will come to visit your place.
This young guy has taken a huge challenge to restore this great building which is a most daunting task..I wish him good and not to get disheartened because old homes are most difficult to restore..
What a delightful young man. I love this chateau it would be my favourite I've seen as its more like a huge home, so much character and features. I brilliant idea for the tours I trust you will have enormous success as this chateau has true ambience and character, beautiful, thankyou for sharing I thoroughly enjoyed it.. Merci your passion is clear to see, from Southern Australia, The Hills
Such a huge job for such a young guy on his own,it’s good the see a French man buying it unlike so many that are bought by some English people with neither taste or cash to do proper restorations
His father and uncle (Jacques and Michel Guyot) pioneered in the 1970s a business model for restoring historical French castles that had been abandoned and were falling into disrepair. They bought the property on credit and then paid for that and for the restoration by charging visitors and leasing parts of the property for weddings and other social events. This has been successful and all of Jacques's children (including Louis, who appears in this video) have been involved in similar ventures. I think that the family must be well off now, but they were not rich to begin with. Jacques Guyot started out working in theater.
I'm glad the English are not buying all the abandoned chateaux in France. They are the heritage of the French people. Thank you Louis for showing this to us and we hope to see much more of you.
in france there is practically a castle every two or three villages so fortunately there are english friends to help maintain the french heritage. after all even english castles remain in france and otherwise it would be ruins
Some English people do respect the French heritage extremely well, while others have Union Jack bonting in the yard and set-up donations pages at every occasions to finish their projects!
I like this castle very very much! What a dream to have such a place and to give form at all the beautifull spaces.i like to visit the place next year. A lot off succes for all the work you have to do.Greetings lourens From Holland.
There’s a channel called “Sam and Jess Explore” where two young people visit dozens of abandoned, and often fully furnished, châteaus. It’s somewhat depressing, as there are so many priceless antiques, furniture, books, art, mantelpieces, simply rotting in the countryside.
The first project I'd want to do is restore the roof slates & clean the entire stone exterior to determine necessary restoration & stop further deterioration. ❤️🙏
My wife alone would've taken alllll of the servece quarters and convert each of the room into her own huge walkin closet and left me one room for my own walking in closet😂🤣😂wèwè😂🤣😂🤣
We don’t put French subtitles. RUclips does, and you can remove them. You noted that nobody speaks about this problem in the comments. You have to disable them on your RUclips player.
Eu vou, nos vamos, eu, o Bebê e o pai dele, eu quero que ele seja criado pelo pai. ✒ podem cuidar da minha burocracia de documentos, eu vou, nos vamos.

Son château est incroyable ! 😉

How can such a young man afford to purchase, renovate, and maintain such a massive property?? Wish we knew more about his background.
Description says he is part of a "well known family in France...." So, he was born to wealth.
Like that's any of your business???!!
@@charleswalker1185 yes we are interested that the money doesn't come from Putin, Russians, mafiaand drug dealers!
Thanks for the information.Of course we were all wondering. This is a noble effort, but the young man is obviously aware of what he is taking on.
Wow, what a task this young man has ahead of him.
I'm glad the English are not buying all the abandoned chateaux in France. They are the heritage of the French people.

The French have always bought French chateaux. Big or small,. They just don't film it for their RUclips channels ;)
Some English people do respect the French heritage extremely well, while others have Union Jack bonting in the yard and set-up donations pages at every occasions to finish their projects!
Exactly, French heritage is French people and they love their country, I hope French people are buying castle in the UK too.
Huge commitment for you but it is a stunning chateau thanks for sharing
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Congratulations, what an enormous job to take on. Bonne chance .
I like this castle very very much! What a dream to have such a place and to give form at all the beautifull spaces.i like to visit the place next year. A lot off succes for all the work you have to do.Greetings lourens From Holland.
Vous avez fait preuve de toute l’énergie nécessaire pour mener à bien un projet difficile à réaliser.

Love the music room, and the workshop is amazing!
You have a huge task ahead of you, it is a huge chateau, very beautiful. I am looking forward to watching its restoration.

Great tour…I wish you well…bon chance, bonne courage!
C’est fabuleux!
Kinda hard to believe a 25 year old had the money and experience to renovate such a property. It's certainly an incredible estate.
Merci💙
It's great ti see these Chateaus with renovation, ita lots of work& money, but once is done ,will worth it,!
Is there an hidden door in your library(bibliotech)? Most chateau have them placed there so I wondered. Lovely tour, thank you.

Magnificent. But It looks like it will require a lot of work to restore it to its former glory. I wish you the best of luck.
Great video
Amazed by the size and the undertaking. And would love to know how a 255 year old buys and invests in renovations of this scale!
Que charme
Tres grande!
"Professeur des universités" earning 3.5K on average. Such a beautiful world!
It would have been nice to see the kitchens and bathrooms.
Very interesting
Magnifque!
I don’t know if ostrich feathers were used in interiors but they were popular in fashions
Congratulation on this project.
We will support , morally. and perhaps give any ideas that relevant.
How much the cost to buy this property?
Nice house
My dream castle… I’v live here haha
Je vis au Fleix, tres proche a toi!
The first project I'd want to do is restore the roof slates & clean the entire stone exterior to determine necessary restoration & stop further deterioration.
❤️🙏
how does it feel to live my dream
How is a castle like this heated? I can’t imagine the heat bills.
I think they still use wood fireplaces to heat themselves.
Very informative. This is a huge undertaking and look forward to seeing it evolve.
No explica que van a hacer con el castillo, va a ser un hotel?
My wife alone would've taken alllll of the servece quarters and convert each of the room into her own huge walkin closet and left me one room for my own walking in closet😂🤣😂wèwè😂🤣😂🤣
❤
It seems to me there was a big bassin/fountain on the first terrace - as seen on 19:13, there is a round mark on the grass.
💚💜🇫🇷
I would like to know if the home owners sale any of the antiques they find and use that money for renovations?
Великолепный, оригинальный замок, построен не пропорционально
Why do you put french subtitles on top of english subtitles ?I can read nothing!!!!
We don’t put French subtitles. RUclips does, and you can remove them. You noted that nobody speaks about this problem in the comments. You have to disable them on your RUclips player.
Please speak more slowly….I love it all…..your house is tres beau…..
