Also - brilliant lesson - I've Entered Sandman about a fucktillion times and never realised that the open-g at the end of the fill is a nifty way to relax back into the riffage without having to rush (and occasionally fumble) thefollowing F-sharp power chord. I was finishing the fill way up at E on the G-string. No idea why. Thanks for putting me right. xxx
So glad you have a broken down version. I just started the grade 2 riff lesson and couldn’t stop playing. I need this in my repertoire. Cannot believe I’m even learning stuff like this. I could only fudge a D chord a year ago…. Amazing playing!
OH MY GOD, I´VE BEEN STRUGGLING TO GET THE RYTHM PART OF THE CLEAN INTRO RIGHT FOR AGES NOW, AND FINALLY I FIND A SOURCE OF INFORMATION THAT ACTUALLY EXPLAINS IT ME, GOD IT TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO FIND SOMETHING LIKE THIS Thank you Justin
I always used the pinky on 7 and index on 5th fret then used the right and middle for the 6-5 on low E string. May be easier for some people and still get the more authentic sound
Hey Justin! I'm a huge fan! I've learned basically all my favorite songs from your videos but now I have a special request! My sister is getting married next summer and she has asked me to pick a song to play at her wedding. The song I want to learn is "If I Should Fall Behind" by Bruce Springsteen! If you would make a video teaching how to play it I would be eternally grateful!
Hi Fritz ... hope you're still picking up that new guitar. Can I recommend you learn step-by-step from Justin New Beginner Course. www.justinguitar.com/categories/beginner-guitar-lessons-grade-1 Everything you need is there. No random, irrelevant videos being pushed at you. Just simple, straightforward, effective teaching from the very basics on. Another excellent lesson Justin - you are a fab teacher and have brought my playing on no end. Your lesson on Romeo and Juliet is amazing and I can now play this well. A handshake in thought.
I'd really love to have a proper lesson on Fade To Black! Also, I just bought a new wah-pedal, so if you would like to do a lesson on the solo as well that would be really nice. Thank you Justin :-)
Re: the opening riff. I've got gigantic hands, and for us I find success with the Hendrix thumb, going Open/ring/index/middle/Thumb/middle, to play l:0/7/5/6/5.. 6:l Give it a try if you are having trouble
Great lesson. But why did you skip the "&" between 3 and 4 when your where showing the first clean riff? I'm curious because I'm trying to learn music theory. Currently, time signatures and note value.
I've got a beginner question here. Do you take the time to adjust your amp and effects between each song? I mean, back in the day, players would have one amp and a few pedals, but now we have so much options with the computer that I get completely lost. I'm wasting half my practise time trying to get the sound right, then I play for half an hour and have to change everything over again for another song. Is that normal? Is there a faster way, or some basic rules to get an okay sound? (I'm using mostly guitar rig 5 but I also have Cubase and a Fender Mustang amp)
I need help, on the third part do you pick the a string again like you do the slide on the a then pick the a again and then the low e or just slide on the a and then pick the low e
Hey Justin huge fan Wondering if you could teach otis Taylor's ten million slaves and nasty letter Both great songs from the movie public enemies Would be totally grateful
It depends if you're playing only on your own or playing along with an audio or video recording. Cheers 😊 | Richard_close2u | JustinGuitar Official Guide & Approved Teacher

Hi Justin. what effect do you use for this sound.....
I've got a beginner question here. Do you take the time to adjust your amp and effects between each song? I'm stuck on the chorus of the song ("Exit light Enter night")
I believe it's Riff 8 that is being played but I'm not 100% sure - anyone??
Do I have to tune it the same way he does or I don’t have to tune in at all I just play
It depends if you're playing only on your own or playing along with an audio or video recording.
Cheers 😊
