oh my god-bought the twelve inch version back in the day, been humming it all day-got it up on youtube and never realised it was Geldof in the vid-unreal !!
I remember this ad so vividly! I was talking to a guy at work about it, and he tracked it down for me (I was only about 4/5 at the time, and I didn't realise who Bob Geldof was) - but I always remember the Jan Hammer sounding music, and the lines "you're...?" and "yeah, shattered..." - cheers for bringing back this little piece of my childhood :o)
Nice backdrop of the power station back in 88. It had been shut down for 5 years when this ad was filmed. Such an iconic building, beautiful, glad that it has, sort of, been kept. As of 2021 the building still stands but the side walls are not original, the chimneys are not original & the roof is not original. Oh well, it’s the best we could have expected in this age of developers, councillors & nice thick brown envelopes! $$$$
gaemz This was filmed in London, England. Not Ireland. And yes, milk is delivered in bottles...but it is not very common to have it delivered at all these days.
All these years I have remembered this piece of music and associated it with an advert I saw as a child of a man throwing back his head and drinking directly from a milk bottle. Had I realised Bob Geldof had starred in it, I'd have found it all the quicker.
News just in... Bob Geldof finds it acceptable to use his celebrity status to steal milk! Seriously though, I have never been running and thought 'I really fancy some milk'!
@@niteblaster1I'll let him off though, Geldof is Irish and unless you recognise the old Battersea Power Station it's not obvious this is made in or for the UK, apart perhaps from the Milkman's accent.
Pretty sure they’re the steps in front of the Peace Pagoda in Battersea Park. Which makes sense as in the opening scene he runs past Battersea Power Station.

luki01111 Yes it is Battersea Power station. Used on Pink Floyd's album 'Animals'. 'Pigs' is the name of one of the tracks on the album.
Yes, a great piece of music from an album called Snapshots, also known as Panpons to some people.

A small piece of music can stir a million thoughts.😊
Getting sharpened up ready for the old "surprise visit".
So damn cool .

Isn't he supposed to stop at the top of the steps not the bottom?
I thought they were the steps out of the rocky film lol
