I received this unit yesterday after seeing it recommended by Mat Armstrong. I got it specifically to activate watching video on the TFT display whilst parked, a function which Mat said it could do. I have watched many vids on RUclips about Carly‘s functionality, and none mentioned freeing up the screen to watch video content. Can you do this with Carly? Thanks 👍
Wouldn’t issue a refund for an auto renewal. I contacted the day it hit my credit card. They said I need to cancel 30 days in advance. Would not issue a refund. Also fried my ECM on my 01 BMW. Didn’t clear codes on my 22 Santa Fe. Had to use an old school scanner.
I have this, well should I say had it. After using it for a couple of year, the Carly app, which cost me £60, had an update and suddenly went to a £70 yearly subscription. Also the £50 Carly Bluetooth dongle which worked fine for years, all of a sudden wasn't compatible with the app. Paying £60 a year for 1 car is not worth it for a person who does services on their own car. The money saved doing your own service is instantly wiped out by the cost of this app.
I'm a software engineer. This shift to a subscription model is happening across all types of software. And it's pure straight forward greed. The only way to halt it is to not buy it
i bought this... not worth it (compared to a standard OBII Scanner). The main reason i got this was for the coding feature, i searched all over carlys website to see if the feature was available for my car and all it said was to plug it in and find out... so i bought it to see and no, no i cannot. :( it can do pretty much the same as a standard scanner, however if youre used to a normal one like me just go with that cause carly is so much more confusing to navigate - also some things like the live data has worked once for me, everytime since it says "error, make sure the engine is on and try again" all while the engine is already on, try turning off restarting etc etc, no luck. it has few things extra such as the battery health which in my opinion is not worth it as most of these "special features" can be done in other ways.

the pricing is really confusing. I would need it with access to all car manufacturers, but the price is only for one manufacturer? cant see prices
