@impactingjamaica illiteracy is a problem in so.e caribbean iasland. Poor comprehension. Whenever jamaica is mentioned in anything the small islands start flextion. 9005 Jamaicans helped build the canal with other caribbean people. JAMAICANS were the majority.
@sydneybennett8647 Do you hear the Government of Jamaica commenting on this matter? No! People are simply commenting on elders in their families including my grandfather who went to work on the canal to earn money to come back to buy land and build a house, get married and have a family. Additionally since the majority of the ships which bring goods to Jamaica come through the Panama Canal the fees that are charged affect what Jamaicans pay in the end.
US money paid for the canal, ran it, (properly) maintained it, defended it; the canal zone may have been leased. The country of Panama was created by the USA

Many other countries were also involved in the canal construction (Trinidad, St. Lucia, Martinique, Barbados, St. Kits, India, Turkey, Pakistan, etc..). This is a down right disgrace and salt in open wound. I am proud of my country man, a nation comitted to work, and I mean serious work, we were created, not molded.
America will take is back on all fronts 🗣️

In this episode with Frenzy Talk Show, UIC President & Founder Joseph Patterson explained in detail how the government has sacrificed the Jamaican people to pay down a debt that they has never benefit from and why they get rid of Marcus Garvey out of the country.
Trump should focus on his internal issues, like the Equity Crisis the Crime Crisis the Wokism Crisis etc. and not seek to grab Infrastructure abroad it cant afford to maintain.
One of but not,Jamaicans was there Cubans was there ,and guess what we are Pan-Africanist Jamaica to the world, trump and america is the problem of the world
The Canal belongs to Panama thats it. Anything more than that is actually being a bully and isn't this what the US goes around the world fighting other independent countries in the name of bullying other countries?
China holds grounds on this canal
Not true. China does not own an inch of Canal lands.
Trump needs to come to Freedom Street in Jamica and chill out! If Trump tek back Panama Canal bump will grow on his forehead😊
Give and tek back😅😅😅😅😅?
Not only Jamaicans went to Panama to help build the Panama canal, lots of Belizeans also went there.
How many ?
@@exrataylor4258bullshirt only Ukraine gay😢😅
My two uncles went to Panama to work there. They named me when I was born.
That's really interesting! It's amazing how family connections can tie us to significant historical events like the Panama Canal dispute. You are onto a great idea too. What if we could build a monument with the names of all those who participated in the construction?
I built the Panama canal, no I built the canal will the person who built the Panama canal please stand up
2 of my great grandfather went and never return home
It’s fascinating to hear about your great-grandparents’ journey. The history surrounding the Panama Canal is truly complex and impactful.
🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 too
My grand uncle work on that canal him children were born there in Panama.
Thank you for sharing. We appreciate it greatly.
my grandma was born there when she came to Jamaica she only speaks Spanish poor thing never got the chance of going back
My grandma mama name was Rosa Bailey she was born in 1914 in Panama 🇵🇦
US can dream of Panama 🇵🇦 they will never have it
Everybody want something others have!
It's true that sometimes people (and countries) desire what others possess, especially when it comes to resources and legacies. The Panama Canal dispute highlights how complex these issues can be.
They went against the treaty. They agreed not to let another nation occupy it. If they are found breaking the treaty. Then they have to hand it over to the USA. PERIOD!!!!!!! Get Educated ARC drop out. Unless you know the facts. Keep your mouth closed. So if you go against your lease are you gonna say. Man they think they can do what ever they want. yeah i agreed to the lease. BUT..BUT.. STFU...
Who paid for the canal construction?
Why do u hate Jamaica so much
Keep Jamaica out of this mess about to go down 💢😡
This isn't about dragging Jamaica into any mess; this is about pausing to recognise the important role played by Jamaicans and other Caribbean nationals in the construction of the canal.
*BESIDES THE PANAMA CANAL IS ALREADY IN AMERICA, SO WHAT’S THE FUSS.*
My great grandad work on that canal
That's awesome. Thanks much for your feedback.
Did the Jamaicans that is free? Did they get money?
😮
1234 Colon man a come wid him big brass chain a lick pon him belly bam, bam.Ask for the time him look up in the sun. I remember singing that song as a child. If refers to Jamaicans who went to work on the Panama canal.Colón is the name of a town on the Atlantic end of the canal and was the main port of call for ships from the West Indies. Today the term lives on in the folk song ‘Colón Man A Come'
It sounds like the Colón Man had his own style! Who needs a watch when you can just look up and let the sun be your timekeeper?
Yes sir we really need this 50 mile
Peace Of land for military and shipping lands in our control
Icy Southern tip, Icy In A tropical Part Of America 🤣😂
Please note the following: Low temperatures in Patagonia and the Southern Cone of Latin America (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, and southern Brazil) are due to the arrival of cold air from Antarctica.
Mr Trump give Texas and California back to Mexico in after all Americans took it from them, was originally Mexico's. But you included it among your 50 states, why? Belongs to Mexico! If you don't see it that way, what makes you think you can say the canal belongs to the USA?, when it's in Panamanian waters and Panamanian land! We are waiting to see when you give Texas and California to Mexico back
You are not to smart. Mexico sold Texas to the USA . Then there president left Mexico and took all the money with him. Get educated ARC drop out Jerry's kid!!
I identify as Jamaican…
My great grandfather helped built this canal
Jamaica claim to fame they built reggae, better than any ol canal
Jamaica have their own port they dont need Panama suea canal, what they are saying is that Jamaica work to help build the Sue's canal.
Lol, thats a big nope
French went bankrupt, thousands invested and lost their money.
If you don't believe Teddy's own words ,I took away that canal. It's a historical fact Columbia owned Panama. Make your own reality
Ah, the classic tale of "who owns what" in the history books!
Desperate people does desperate things, and I am talking about the US, the empire is falling and you know when some is falling what they instinctively do...
❤😂hi👍👋👶
Jamaicans were not the only people in the west indies who worked on this canal. Many other Caribbean Islands people worked as well. My grandfather worked and married a Panamanian woman. I am a Vincentian national. So bite your tongue sir.....
Thank you for sharing. Your perspective adds to the conversation. Indeed, many other nationalities helped to build the canal. This video speaks primarily to the role of Jamaicans and, to a lesser extent, the wider Caribbean.
@impactingjamaica illiteracy is a problem in so.e caribbean iasland. Poor comprehension. Whenever jamaica is mentioned in anything the small islands start flextion. 9005 Jamaicans helped build the canal with other caribbean people. JAMAICANS were the majority.
Caribbeans built the Panama Canal
ADOLF TRUMP
China has it now
Hey Trump, Latin America is watching West Africa very closely. PANAMA, IF YOU HAVE TO DESTROY THE CANAL , DO NOT HESITATE.
Trump racist juck joke 😮
We can’t have shi
Trump is just a badmind man
Jamaica should leave this issue alone. They can’t do anything about it if the US decides to invade Panama again and neither will any other country.
Jamaica is not specifically involved in the issue, as we pointed out.
They just let you know who blood sweat and life in Caribbean build this thing wow
That won’t happy little America there are other big boys on the block duh China
The US never owned it. It was leased to the US
US money paid for the canal, ran it, (properly) maintained it, defended it; the canal zone may have been leased. The country of Panama was created by the USA
Jamaica is seemingly in every storm. Dem soon tun a storm breeder
Please President Carter give it freely to Panama he was a weak leader.
Trump should go look about the influence of China in his own country.
trump finished off poor old jimmy demanding return of the canal he.was elected.to handover
Jamaicans had what one calls a JOB, nothing more.
It's interesting how historical perspectives shape our understanding of events like these. Every contribution matters in the bigger picture.
Bad minded. Not surprised that the small dots we call the eastern caribbean always try to diss us.
What and how is Jamacians benefit from it, we really dont care who want to take over the world, we still have Jamaica, if you all want to fight for what belongs to all of us , go ahead, you have my permission, when you all gone , we will have more places to go, we dont want nottin but Jamacia, we all over the world working for chump change, but we still hated, you just cant walk in a Jamaican shoes, remember dat Bouy!!
Thank you for sharing your perspective! Jamaica's strength and resilience are truly inspiring, and it's important to recognize the hard work of Jamaicans everywhere. It is also important for nation states to monitor what is happening globally with an eye for potential impact, negative or positive.
Jamaica has no fight in this ring? Stop the bullshit falsehood. Many other countries were also involved in the canal construction (Trinidad, St. Lucia, Martinique, Barbados, St. Kits, India, Turkey, Pakistan, etc..). So, this nonsense about impacting Jamaica's legacy doesn't fit the narrative; furthermore, the canal was built in Panama, not Jamaica.
We recommend you watch the video again.
Marketing is a con game. Jamaicans weren't there. Only USA. Jamaicans who help were living there and got a job
Let us assume you are correct (but you are not). Aren't they still Jamaicans?
@impactingjamaica if you are the legal resident of another country, how are you a Jamaican? Oaths were taken and allegiance given up.... To defend Panama against any foreign entity including Jamaica.
You have a problem.i don't think you understand history.
@pinkbanton4383 and I don't think you understand the con game. Whoever takes over Panama can destroy the Canal in times of war and if America is attacked and destroyed, Jamaica will become a hellhole
Just because you build something and received a paycheck for it doesn’t mean you are entitled to it. You do your job, collect whatever your paycheck is, finish it and go home happy that you made money.
Let's put it like this you have a close friend France they have a great idea can't complete it then they tell the idea to you america and then you make the idea successful but you had it off to the people who will be there more then you to work it Panama next thing you know they let the person you hate the most China use your hard work a labor and then just want you to sit around take it and deal with it you would not be pissed
USA needs to take it back 🇺🇸🇺🇸
The canal was built in 1914. It became obsolete. Panama built new locks and infrastructure costing billions. It would be like you leaving an old sedan in your neighbors yard, and taking his new SUV. It would be stealing.
@@Anayansi958 usa needs to take it back ..
Jamaica was not part of the building of panama Canal. Lies 😂😂😂
Know your history.
Know ur history before you open ur mouth sometimes I pays to be silent than open your mouth and remove all doubt this is such a time.....
Look like yuh jus born yesideh so dont know di history of 🇯🇲 involvement in di canal.
My parents are jamaican, but. I was in Panama
@princeterry6243 Are you saying they did not help to build it?
Or, are you saying they are not part of the building?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
I hate when vlogers only rating China and Russia and allu know America is still number one. That's why I love trump a lot as a grenadian
you should not love a racist. U sound weak.
Jamaica wasn't the brain's behind the building. They only provided man power.
dont love your opressors.
Jamaicans build the Panama canal.
If we have to we will just take it back .
Jimmy carter died in 1992 at a state dinner in South America his life doesn’t worthy of my freedom I told him while shook his hand I saw fear in his eyes.
USA needs to take it back 🇺🇸🇺🇸
That will not work.
