PokeAK, I’m going to be honest and say that I didn’t believe you when you said there was an algorithm but looking back at my past season win rates, they’ve all been around 50%-54% win rate. I am now fully convinced that you are indeed correct. Thank you for making these videos, it helps us people realize things that we just don’t want to accept is true
You can still hit legend with that rate. Tho. I hit legend with a 42% win rate. With no help or nothing
@@knlqhtmarethe point is it should be randomized with no algorithmic input or tailored bots against you or even for you. If you lose constantly I’m sure you get handed wins, so it keeps everyone mid level. It’s the communism of gaming, the bottom is lifted and the top is dragged down.

@@voxveritas7941 oh I’m very aware the system is working. It was introduced in the halo online days to force players of the same skill level to compete against one another. Your problem in Pogo is that it can be turned on and off for specific people and also rare items are locked behind the wins. Complete manipulation. Every match should be random.

the biggest scam with go battle is you will get these matches with 2 to 3 hard counters each set, then once you get to a certain ELO they hammer you back with 5 hard counters.
I ran Fini lead for 4 sets- No dragonite
I switch to Greninja lead- Almost every game was a dragonite lead

I had an amazing day yesterday, 4 or 5 win sets, it felt so good. Today of course my ass was algorithmed to hell and I lost all the Elo I gained because suddenly I was facing teams that were set up perfectly to hard counter mine. So boring and predictable.

I ran a Tapu Fini lead in UL and won the first 4 matches. For the next 13 matches in a row I faced poison or grass type pokemon in the lead.😊🙃🙃
Looking forward to this rant because I've been experiencing this "counter algorithm" also.

I recently started playing Pokémon go in July. I love the PvP, but I noticed this after playing for two months. It’s just feels weird. I understand that there is no such thing as a perfect team. But they way the battles play out sometimes is way too convenient. AND it’s almost like we can tell which battles those are. You can actually FEEl that something was off or weird about. Not a normal loss. I’m so glad I found this video, I thought I was just going crazy.

Love the down to earth approach, and also loving the rants. Alot of the rants is something i always complain about to myself as im playing and refreshing there is at least one creator willing to make 'real' videos on issues or opinions, if the algorithm wasnt soo obvious or counters too perfectly, it ruins to whole fun out of the game, but i still do love the game in general.
hi poke ak, i was just curious if it is just me who is experiencing, when you are about to win, suddenly your the battle will lag, and you wont be able to attack or fire a charge move, then you lose the battle. after the battle, the app is not lagging again. its kinda fristrating, it feels bad, and its a littlebit fishy

Yeah i’ve had that happen before too. It’s incredibly suspicious. I’ve also had the game force close on me when I’m about to win, and then once i bring it back up, it counts as a loss. And wanna know a thing? It ONLY does this in times where I’m about to win, and often when i’m on a really good win streak. Yeah, ohhhh yeah definitely NOT a coincidence. There’s just no freaking way. GBL is rigged. straight up
i made a little googling, and it seems that lag to opponent can be induce by scrolling up your screen. it happened to me again, when i flipped the position, suddenly it lagged again inspite of long time great internet connection, to find out that my pokemon has been defeted after the lag and their few moves advance after.
i dont want to waste my time to this shit anymore😂

@@rosshound2817 It's funny cuz u can literally predict the mon in the back in most cases, cuz it's always the one u don't want to face and with the particular moveset as well. I have called out loud to myself what mon they had before they even showed it,.. multiple times..
Last season in UL I was leading Excadrill with Tentacruel and Waterfall Primarina in the back. 90% or more of the teams I faced would safe swap Giratina. After seeing that for the 100th time I put Charm on Primarina. I saw 0 Giratina swaps from that moment on. Every single one I saw was on the lead all of a sudden.
There’s a very simple solution that could end the algorithm talk. Either match players up BEFORE you pick your team, or make a fair algorithm that always finds neutral leads. Then whoever swaps out first can only blame themselves if they’re countered in the back
Two points - the algorithm does in fact know charge move and blocks effective moves and swaps out instantly if the Fast Attack will cause super effective damage (yes, the bot knows ALL the moves of all your Pokemon). Secondly and not sure if this is already known but constantly being out-run on charge attacks because your fast attacks are also increasing the bot's charge level. Seen in standard training and GBL to the point where the opponent will ALWAYS get the charge attack before you.
I swear this algorithm is ganna be the death of me. 1,2,3,3,0… went super down. Always ACE…

I tried recommending your Champion Blue team Pidgeot, Blastiose and shadow Alakazam. When I had on the lead Pidgeot and I get electric encounter and even I swop Blastiose and I get Grass types and Giratina. I guess the business corporation doesn’t seem like my team and hate it. So, they throw algorithm at me for no fun. 1-4 and 2-3 win is all I was getting being spicy loser.

I’m pretty sure a lot of people twitch stream have baby accounts so they can trade between them.
They should just do what VGC does and make it so you have to have 6 Pokémon in your party, you have team preview on and you only pick 3 of the Pokémon you’re going to bring, that would eliminate the feeling that the "algorithm” is ruining your game and adds skill back into it
Had a great day on Wednesday all positive sets with 3 of them at 4-1 and landed at 2497 ELO. I was like, ok just 3 points away from Veteran just need one more positive set ... used same team and went 1-4, 1-4, 2-3, just could not catch a decent lead and countered at safe swap so I just raged quit and just took a break until the weekend.
Same. Was 30 points from vet and next day 80% bad leads and hard punished swaps. It's programed to do this. The intention is to keep you grinding. If you reach higher ranks to easy you'll spend less.
same, I reached 2489 4 times and every time I failed the decisive set for the veteran, it's frustrating...
I stopped playing go battle because of the algorithm. Why would I waste my time playing rock paper scissors with a game that knows what I will choose every time?
The algorithm is 100% the reason why I don't play GBL. It's not worth the hassle IMO

I've seen so much evidence that there is a moveset algorithim. Note: Niantic HAS a match making algorithm. Multiplayer games HAVE to have one. You couldn't have a game without one. You have to have a manner to match a player against another. On the surface, GBL has one that matches ELO. That's no big secret. You don't see rank 1 going up against legends right? So there's already an algorithm in the works that you all see. The game MAKES SURE to not let two specific players match up already and you all see it. So to say that Niantic is too dumb and have an algorithm is clearly moronic. It's a computer game. It HAS to be programmed to do what it does, it doesn't just make up code as it goes. I've seen in video and in self experience that there are bots AND an algorithm. Example: if you tank your elo to like 1000 and you'll notice along the way you'll face bots. You'll start a match and not tap at all (cause you're tanking your matches) and you'll see the other "player" doesn't tap either. Why not? They're team is cp1500, so they're not tanking. But the very milisecond you tap, THEN they tap. Or you'll sit there an nothing happens. And the second you tap, your mon dies. Not because the other "player" tapped. You can see no fast move was thrown. Your mon just dies because YOU tapped. So this is how Niantic can prove there is no algorithm (which they can't, but this is how they'd have to surrender). You have to build your teams BEFORE going into the GBL. Then have the GBL match players. THEN you have to pick your team from the teams you've built in the party tab just like raids teams and such. Sure they can do it that way. That's how raids work. You start the raid and THEN you can build a team after everyone is already in it will they prove there is no algorithm that matches you on movesets so you're forced to stay at a 50/50 win ratio which to anyone who has taken a college level statistics class, that's impossible. You can't have 99% of players with a 50/50 if its truly random. It's literally impossible and NEVER happens in a system that is truly random, even with the elo match making restrictions. So when you add all that together, you're only left with the evidence that supports it is not random at all.
I just caught a shiny Guzzlord from my very first raid.
Also, my last raid shiny was a Turtonator on September 15. Shiny-eligible mons I've raided since then: 2 more Turtonator, 2 Galarian Mr. Mime, 20 Genesect, 14 Shadow Zapdos1 fled), 20 Raikou, 9 Entei, 6 Suicune(1 fled), and now 4 Guzzlord(1 fled) no shinies. I've never gone this long without a raid boss shiny in terms of amount of time. 77 raids over 4 weeks and multiple different bosses to no shinies is almost as bad as the one week i spent doing 85 raids for the shiny Altered Giratina and 17 for shiny origin form, never got either. 2nd acc got shiny origin form on the 2nd raid. I'm about to quit. All this grinding and raiding, getting nothing I'm going for while newer/casual players do and hackers are team rocket hunting with a spoofmobile to no consequence. They need to focus on what's ACTUALLY "fair" for EVERYONE
Believer in the algorithm here. First time hearing about the back pokemon move set theory so I tried it on a fury cutter/cross chop barbarcle
Result: Hypno, Cofagrigus, Wigglytuff.
(Disclaimer: no, barbacle was not on my actual team lol I pick my team within a 5-6 sec timeframe to dodge the algorithm updating on it)
I had a 50 match non losing streak... Officially it's 34 now, but I've tied one game at the 16th match.... Unfortunate that it breaks the streak

I started using ursaring in ultra league as a spice pick and it did surprisingly good with trailblaze. I haven't seen anyone make a video for it in ultra so it would be nice seeing a video showcasing it.

Yeah been a firm believer for a while shortly after watching your pvp vids a couple years ago. Especially when the old premium track had the pokemon encounter first, I could see the algorithm was a means to try to push people into the premium track if they wanted that easier encounter chance. Even with the premium track changed to mirror the FTP version no reason not to change it. Not the first time I heard companies doing sketchy stuff like this, like a game with PTW elements intentionally matching PTW players vs FTP players at a higher rate to get people to spend more or play more to compensate.
When I was still fairly new to the game and wasn’t on YT yet, i’d sometimes go with the premium pass and ALWAYS fail miserably. However, the normal pass would be ok (ish). I never select the premium pass for the gbl now. No way, no how!

I think that there are some legitimate content creators, but I have seen them using exploits in their content. The one I’ve seen more than once is where their battle goes in slow motion. The dude talks at regular speed, but I can see the screen going in slow motion. No wonder he can bot-swap. It’s not enough that he wins lead, swap, and close. He gets extra time to react. That’s just what I’ve seen. I have no doubt that they get to see team makeup, attacks, etc. And since the game is essentially pay-to-win, they are on the “win” side while we scrubs are stuck in pay-to-lose.
At least you know it’s real when you beat them so bad they stop attacking🤣
Hey Poke, I just wanted to say I appreciate your content. Just recently came back to Go since 2016....played for a few months and dropped it. I'm not sure why. However, I am really enjoying build9jg teams and trying things. Don't know much about classes and things yet, but I'm learning. Your vids have definitely helped, so thank you. Really enjoy such a straight to point type of video, and being able to call it how it is with other creators and Niantic and so forth. Also, I was stationed at Fort Wainwright, AK, for almost 10 years. I'm glad to see AK having some content creators getting gaming content out there. Keep it up, sir!!!!

Every gaming app has its own algorithm. No surprise in it. A common gamer will never understand it. Just need to accept it happens. It so being. One want to win all the matches.

Every PvP game has some kind of match making program to pair people together. Whatever the specs are on that is up to the developer. Also if stardust is the single most important thing in the game and go battle league is the best way to farm stardust, it's safe to say there is an incentive for people to create farming bots, like they do on almost every game since bots were created. Gotta have stupid people tho, so we can have smart people.

I agree with you on the Algorithm, PokeAK. Because I never reach to Ace Rank or Legend Rank. I always end up at Rank 18 or 20. And I'm stuck where I'm at.

I think that if they'd update the move pools, it'd help with the bots tryna make them think, but bottom line- there still a solidified meta inside of go battle league/vgc that has been HEAVILY botted in the community.
Niantic even coming out does show the point your expressing of them not explaining. (Cuz they wouldve had to announce other problems that have been leaked that they NEVER express.) [Or haven't outright!]

Hey man. Just wanted to say thank you for speaking on this issue when nobody else will. A lot of us don't have a voice, but we're every bit as frustrated as you are.
I seriously wonder how anybody can play this game's horrendous PvP on their own free will without breaking things.
This game's PvP system is the worst ever conceived and should be taken out of the game.

Here’s a random thought that my friend came up with. I feel like the top battlers deny the algo because everyone uses the same shit in those higher elos. They see the same teams mostly so there’s hardly any room for rng.

I just happened to experience something new in battle league today, it started off fine and the opponent switches leads, I switch to counter then my game just closes by itself, I log back in and anytime I try to go back into the battle the whole screen just freezes, I could still do everything else ok. When the battle actually finished I could go back into battle league, not sure if this is some sort of new exploit but first time encountering such nonsense.

Theres definitely an algorithm. I mean, think abouy it. You can get HELLA rewards from premium gbl, and if you dont get hard countered sometimes then you could theoretically go 25-0 purley based on team comp.

It kills me people think PVP takes skill, it only takes luck. Period. There’s very few scenarios it takes any skills. The algorithm is 110% real. It exists in all online games from PC to cell phone. I just got back into PVP today only cause the dust rewards today but I just expect the BS and I’m only doing it for the dust. Anyone who denies the algorithm is a sissy ass trying not to make niantic mad. That’s why we appreciate you AK.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY runs dragon breath Charizard. I have seen a couple using fire spin, but most switched to wing atk. You only run into bs moves/mons like that when you try to outsmart the algorithm. That's because it's already cost you 4 battles and you got tired of losing but the team has carried you 10-0 or 9-1, so you know it's decent. Change up the lead, now your mon that woulda been strong to lead the last 4 battles is getting HARD countered by their lead, first time you've seen that mon all day or WEEK, and ONLY after you made a change.
Trainer club is afraid to say your name because he doesn’t want anything to do with losing a fanbase. I guarantee those trainer club fans are people who are stuck up Mofos who deny any truth. I’m sure there is a younger fan base that like to play the game casually but the hard core players only sub to him because they think if Billy benefits from niantic so will they.

It just baffles my mind that a game that normally had a less than 10 second queue despite it not being the most popular game in the world, people still think there isn't bots playing. Its insane. This game has bots to counter. And if you dont believe that, youre a mark.
bro I've been saying it for years, since the patents got uncovered in call of duty...naughty algorithms have been put in to most online multiplayer games, after a few wins you'll get hard bodied...you can never really get a head of the field.
in call of duty the patents would log the routes you take and pair you with someone who counters it, nerf your bullets mid gunfight, there was 3 more patents i cant remember but any way u got to be stupid not to think other developers wouldn't impermeant this as well...its too keep player retention, you think to yourself i nearly i had that game I'm gonna win the next one.

even sitting around a 58% win streak i still don't believe in an algorithm simply because i can run the same team all season and yeah i do see similar teams multiple times but i'm always going up against different pokemon and leads and safe swaps.

Here's something interesting. In dodgy looking games, ie opponents getting to move too quickly or my moves not firing, whatever, I make a note of trainer names then Google. And 99 percent of times if there is a hit its someone with a profile on insta or tiktok or something but no content. I'm convinced Niantic is usung bots and pretending to be real people.
Since we ranting, I got a rant. I just got back into Pokémon go from being a day 1 player so the game has felt fresh to me coming back this go fest. However I’m starting to see the criticisms of niantic the community and pokeak play out.
I was one of the ones that did like 20-30 zapdos raids trying to get a shiny and yea got that nonsense 3 pass compensation.
I decided to try today about five raids to get the shiny. NOT ONE SHINY. The fact it wasn’t a guaranteed shiny today Is nuts to me. I’m so annoyed.
