Hey Jordan, I'm a disabled veteran. Always wanted to be on your Patreon but I'm barely able to pay my bills or I would. You, by far are my favorite RUclips! I was wondering if you could do a segment on the band Badfinger? Their story is so tragic...their music is so hauntingly mesmerizing. You are the only one who would do it justice. You're the Best, Speedy
It's actually Fairchild, WI where Carole was born. I have a connection to Carole Landis, in that I live in her grandparent's house. I met a guy that used to live in my house and he actually knew the grandmother when he was young. I had never heard of Landis till I moved from Fresno, CA to Fairchild, WI 20 yrs. ago So imagine my shock when I heard I lived in the grandparent's home. Their house burned down in the town Fairchild and the mom & her kids moved in w/her parents, so Carole lived here before the mom moved to CA. It seems strange that we moved here from CA. and that Carole moved from here to CA. Our library has a section devoted to Carole & her career.
@@johnkurkowski2799 Yes, a big difference, our town is less that 500 people and we are proud of Landis. Hard to believe she lived here and made it to the Silver Screen of Hollywood. The president of Landis's Fan Club came to my house after she visited the library, they donated tons of stuff to the section we have to honor Landis.
Oops, I forgot to add that Carole lived in our house ( her grandparents house) which was on a farm on 40 acres, we have since added 40 more acres. There was a fire in the house in Fairchild, and her brother was killed. So sad, then the father left the family. A rough childhood for Carole.
Great Vlog Jordan! Love all the videos that you've done from LA. I learned more about Hollywood from your videos than I could have ever imagined! Thank you1
Thank you Jordan, this was another great tribute/memorial broadcast. I remembered Rex Harrison was married to Kay Kendal but had forgotten all about his involvement with Carole Landis.
So glad your back in Hollywood your just a natural at representing the stories of in it I suggested years back you should return even Period Ically to do stories you replied no wont go back so glad you've changed your mind thank you
I'm always so torn about Rex Harrison. On screen, he's a favorite of mine, but it always hurts my heart knowing he was kind of a douche to women in real life. (I have a similar issue with William Powell).
Sad ending for Carole Landis. Thank you Jordan for sharing with us another piece of the tragic side of Hollywood. I learn so much from your videos and storytelling way mixed with great respect for the deceased loved ones and their families.❤🙏
She became very sick while touring the SW Pacific in '44 for the troops. She got amoebic dysentery I believe. Her health never quite recovered from that sickness.
Beautiful woman with poor choices in men. All she really wanted was to be loved. Even the most beautiful of women can be insecure. Rex Harrison might have been cad but still loved him in Dr. Doolittle."
She killed herself. she was in love with Rex Harrison I mean really in love with him… And he was in different… I’ve seen the pictures and they also put the pictures in the movie “Hollywood land“… I guess people may say that her body was in an odd position, she was bent over in her bathroom and her arms were at her sides like she was trying to pick herself up. And because of that people think someone else was involved but they weren’t… Carol was a romantic and emotional. she was an undiagnosed bipolar as well….
Sorry, but Carole's sad tale reminds me of Marilyn Monroe but a bit more dramatic and out there. Sounds like she always had plenty of chances for a "normal" home life with an average guy, a marriage with kids, but truly not wanting "normal," rough childhood, unstable family situation, abused when young, needing stability but never quite happy when she got some of the right kind of attention. I sure wouldn't blame the men so much, either. It could well be she actually liked all the attention, whether it was bad or good. For her family to blame the men she got HERSELF involved with is funny; was the family hoping to cash in some way from Harrison??
She was married five times and wasn't even thirty years old. She lived far beyond her means and was in financial trouble because of it. Oh, and she was dating a married man and somehow thought it would end well. She killed herself. Rex was shady, but he wasn't a killer. He had no motive to kill anyone. Everybody in town knew they were having an affair.
So tragic, so young, finding true love can be very difficult when you are so beautiful, people used her for their own purposes. I’m really sad hoe Rex Harrison treated her, I’ve always enjoyed him as an actor. RIP Carole Landis 🤗
I love ❤Carole Landis so much . Something about how she sounds when she talks . I especially love her in Topper Returns . She did a ton of movies in her short life ⭐️🎭🎞🎥📺🌹😇 So sad .
This was a fascinating story. I never knew any of this & she so deserved better. You did a beautiful job in telling her life's story. Thank you Jordan for the great work that you do.
Respectfully,Carole Landis killed Carole Landis, but there were certainly people around who share some responsibilities in her ultimate fate,Rex Harrison chiefly among them.
Rachel Roberts, divorced from Rex (who was married to Richard Harris' ex). Another suicide associated with him, and at age 53 suffered a horrible death by drinking lye and collapsing into a glass partition where she was cut to pieces on top of everything.

Badfinger is one of my favorite bands. Their story is very tragic and very sad. 😔

Thanks for confirming because I was wondering if it was Fairfield or Fairchild which is a big difference. I did find out it was Fairchild.

You have brought us a few sad stories from old Hollywood.
Interesting how they lived their lifes back in the day. Thank you again Jordan. 😊
Carole Landis was beautiful and I'm sorry she couldn't find what she was looking for in life. Thanks to you Jordan she is not forgotten.♥
sounds like Rex Harrison could have shown more consideration for her wellbeing, so tragic Carole Landis to feel she had nothing left to live for 🙏

Married 5 times before age 29???? Crazy!!
Tragic, Thanks for sharing Jordan and Jah
What a sad story. Thanks for doing this I learned about Carol Landis, so sad.
You could call Darryl Zanuck her "abuser" as he and Harry Cohn were the originators of the infamous "casting couch."
Carol was definitely a smoke show, beautiful! I saw a video of her for army radio, giving all the listeners a big breathy sigh! Great video Jordan!
Good to see you back in the " City of dreams" !
Excellent video. You really gave her the respect she deserves. I'm sure she's grateful.
Such a sad ending to a promising life. Carole Landis deserved so much better. May she rest in peace. Thanks for sharing her story, Jordan.
Tragic that such a young, beautiful woman should think harrison was her last chance. Another interesting and respectful vlog.
So happy to see you back doing classic Hollywood. I started watching you 6 years ago because of your vods of classic Hollywood

Great video about a tragic story. 😢
I first saw her in the 1941 film Noir I Wake up Screaming, also starring Victor Mature and Betty Grable. Her beauty really stood out.

Hi Jordan and the beautiful Miss Katie
So glad your back in Hollywood your just a natural at representing the stories of in it I suggested years back you should return even Period

Well, I’ll say this….. married people shouldn’t fool around. She should not have fooled around with him. Consequences.
Sad story. All she really wanted was the same as anyone else. Someone to love her. Thank you, Jordan for telling her story. I hope she rests in peace.
Well, Rex and his wife were bold as brass showing up to the funeral.
RIP Mrs. Landis 😢❤
Always love your vlogs about Hollywood's past - the people and the places. Wish HW could be back some of the glamour.
Another amazing & sad Hollywood story. Thanks & take care, hope jah is well.

I'm a new subscriber and have been binging your videos. Really enjoying them!
I just finished watching “I Wake Up Screaming “ and this was a very interesting follow up to learn more about such a beautiful actress.
Another sad story from the golden era
It says a lot about Rex Harrison's character unfortunately
Been waiting for you to do this one for a long time, thank you, Jordan!
What I do love about your videos is the details to their beginnings careers and unfortunately in many cases their deaths. Thank you 😊

AMAZING CAROLE LANDIS VERY SO BEAUTIFUL AND GORGEOUS
She became very sick while touring the SW Pacific in '44 for the troops. She got amoebic dysentery I believe. Her health never quite recovered from that sickness.
Such a tragic story, I read she also lost two siblings at a young age as well

It is very good of you to give the story of a wonderful woman who not only was a person with dreams, but was railroaded by the hollywood machine.
Sad story , thanks Jordan
Nice hat Jordan. Never seen a Nationals hat in that color. I'm born and raised in D,C. and I love all our sports teams. Especially the Nats.

Five failed marriages before the age of thirty points to her, not them, as the problem.
She was very very beautiful ❤️
hello jordan......
She was beatiful
Carole has a striking resemblance to the blonde who played in some of the 3 stooges shorts.
Christine Mcintyre? :)
Quite a sad story of her life really.
Her dreams weren't unrealistic, but never materialised.
Funny I just watched Sloan's video on Jani and the next day you do a Jani blog now I just watched a doc about Carole, and day later here you are! Lol
His wife was Lilli Palmer, a very underrated Actress!
Please do a video on Lillie if you can.
It's amazing what she accomplished within her 28 years.
Great story
Carol Landis was a beautiful woman. Nice resting place for her. Good vlog jordan

Had a full life ahead
As Gorgeous as they Get

She fell for grinchface ? 😬
Hi Jordan I miss talking to you I hope everything you're doing is good I hope you're following your dream
Where's Ja?
Oh please, she got involved with a married man. She has to be accountable as well. Can't blame Rex. she made some bad choices as well.
😢
Hollywood. Heavy handed when it comes to deaths. Cover ups left anx right
same age as Thelma Todd 29
To bad, she was beautiful 🎉
OMG, WHAT A HO HO HO.... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rex Harrison? Wasn't her boyfriend rex?
Greatest rack in old Hollywood 😉😎
I LOVE IT when you're in L. A.
Hi Jordan
Jerk=Rex Harrison
she was looking good - to the point that you ignore the time period stuff.
Men can be awful
Didn't one of Rex Harrison's wives die mysteriously as well?
